Gender?

So there's no way to change the gender of a pet when I steal an egg? We cannot determine the gender of the eggs?

You can change it with items from the Cash Cave, they cost 100CC to change the gender of your pet.
But, you cannot see the gender of the egg when you first take it. ):
You can also change the names (10 times per month) at the TownHall
