What type of magic would you want to exist in the real world?

In fictional worlds, magic comes in all different styles. Some require you to drain strength from yourself, while others simply require a magic word. Even mutants in x-men could be a style of magic. Or maybe you prefer something more plausible like super advanced technology that appears to us as magic.

What ever your flavor, I am curious as to what kind of ideas pop up.

No contest, just discussion 😊


My Choice would be like Energy bending in Avatar the last airbender. If you understood the true essence of something you could manipulate it. Being skilled would require you to have a strong will and strong understanding of the way things are.

The magic in Harry Potter is soooo awesome xD I'd love to have my own wand and to be sorted into one of the four houses.

If more than one kind of magic could be real, it would be bending the elements of the Avatar world. Not just Energy bending, all of the kinds of bending in that cartoon. 😊

Although I like Harry Potter a lot, I'd love to have the Avatar kind of "magic" C:
Especially air bending~ :'D

@riverthatflows how does it work in unwanteds? I like the idea of creativity influencing magic but not to the point of the Green Laterns powers

@gabrieltaft "The Unwanteds" is a book where kids are sent away for being creative. It is seen as a sign of weakness in a gray communtiy called Quill. Quill is surrounded by walls and is ruled over by the High Priest Justine. There are the Necessaries, the Wanteds, and the Unwanteds. Unwanteds who have committed a "crime" such as drawing,dancing, singing, telling stories (anything creative) are sent to a death camp. The death camp is actually a magical world where a kind man, Mr. Today, has taken all the Unwanteds secretly over the years. Everyone are taught based on their skills. They then can create spell or use existing spells. For example, making origami dragons that breathe fire. Using a splatter paintbrush to cover someone and encase in paint. Using dancing, such as a fire step to make the enemy's feet hot. Singing that can mesmerize a victim, playing an instrument such as the piccolo to make them fall asleep, etc.
