Ok, my braces have been really weird today! 😱 So, I'm not sure what my dentist/orthodontist is doing (I have a feeling that it was a dentist doing the orthodontics, but he has courses in orthodontics) but last month of having braces, somehow the bottom row of my teeth seemed to have developed into an underbite (they used to be a closed bite) However, today, I got my braces tightened, and started experiencing severe pain when I was out a few hours ago - I attributed this to the fact that they were tightened, and the bottom row had thicker archwires. Weirdly enough, though, is the fact that I came home about half an hour ago, looked in the mirror, and my teeth were almost restored to closed bite (it still has a bit of underbite, but hardly noticeable at that) Does anybody have any idea what's going on? I'd been freaking out for the last few days over my underbite, but this sudden change is so weird it's not even funny! (actually, it was really funny when I first looked in the mirror; I almost burst into tears) Also the fact my teeth really hurt :lAnybody have any idea what's going on? O_o;;

I'm sorry, I haven't had braces so I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound too abnormal so I wouldn't worry. 😊 The professionals know what they're doing. You must have stubborn teeth!

@celeste got my braces off last year 😃my two front teeth seemed to come together over night when i got them tightened about 2 months before i got them off so i guess the change must be normal 😊

@celeste I don't think you should worry, they're professionals. If you have concerns then you should tell them and they should be able to explain what's going on.

@rosamund The wax is so that you don't get ulcers on your gums/inside of your mouth. 😉

@celeste - Actually, that's pretty normal to those who had braces on. It really actually hurts so much.It's pretty hard to eat, right? Well, that is what you get from bracing your teeth. You actually can't eat ice cream, chocolates and even drink anything that is cold because it will hurt so much.Hmm.. try remembering the arrangement of your teeth before you actually your braces on. (If you could still remember) xD Then, after a few months of you having braces try checking on your teeth again and tell me what happens. 😉

I doubt it's anything unusual, my teeth shifted really quick too when I got mine tightened one time. It's probably because the wire was put on really tight or something. 😋
