I think it would be fun to do superlatives on EggCave! (EC themed of course) If you don't know what a superlative is, it's like best dressed, best hair, most likely to succeed. I figured we could do something like this at EC where the community votes on nominees. People could nominate their friends for different categories and the top 10 or 15 people that get nominated the most will be put into that category and voted on by everyone! I hope that made sense xDThe winners could get like a little profile badge or something.Categories COULD include:FriendliestBest CollectionCoolest UsernameNothing to make people jealous or feel bad about their coves like, "most CC creatures", or "prettiest cove". Just normal nice stuff.I think this would be fun, are there any flaws in this I missed?I would really appreciate some feedback!

@rileytibbles_side This sounds really fun! So would it be weekly or monthly or what? ^^
scream • 29 April 2013 at 8:18 PM
Frendliest = @bluebelle π
rileytibbles_side • 29 April 2013 at 8:21 PM
@maverickI was thinking more so of like once a year, just because it might be a pain to have to vote really often and people would look forward to it more if it was once a year@screamAgreed. or @littlepuffyball or @periwinkle XD
periwinkle • 29 April 2013 at 8:24 PM

@rileytibbles_sideThere could be some drawbacks of such a suggestion.If someone has bent on making it, they could "warp" their IPs and make a lot of fake accounts, resulting in more votes for their main account, like the kind of "illegal votes" which happen due to "corrupt" officials in the real-life elections. If they know about it, and want to get a superlative, they could do that, or they could give out creatures to those, who vote for them, as a giveaway, or they could bribe others in doing fake votes for them. It would have to be examined the way it is, but as nowadays, some people even ask for YouTube votes in EC, in that same way, they would release people from other sites to Egg Cave to vote for their accounts

@frosted0.0Good heavens! That doesn't sound good :/ Surely there is some way to prevent this? Meh probably not. I don't feel like most users would go that far. Plus there will only be 5-10 nominees for each category, so the EC staff can watch better. There could be a warning stating that if there is any detected illicit activity regarding the votes, the person will be disqualified from the running and maybe a short ban or something from EC. I'm not sure...
cotton • 29 April 2013 at 8:51 PM
@frosted I agree with Riley; it's not such a big deal that users would go that far.

@rileytibbles_sideThis could be prevented if there is a round where 50 people who have a good cove enter, out of which 25 are selected, among those, a 10 is selected.This ten is further decreased to 5 which leads to the finals.There should be a way to check whether who voted on whom for the moderators, which cannot be viewed by the public. There would surely be a warning which the people will trespass, only a temporary ban of a week, could make them stop this.If anyone is seen of doing the same by voting with their sides, all votes of the sides would be deleted and the main account would be given a warning.If new accounts are voting onto someone's position, then the moderators would check the IPs of the person getting votes and the new accounts. If the IPs match, the person would be disqualified, deleting all the new accounts, deleting the votes they have, giving them a 1 day to stay before their suspension for 1 week. {Given some time to read their mistake, and to realize their mistake, and to heed the warning}If the IPs dont match and it was done by someone else to frame that person and get that person banned for a week, then EC would check the IPs with all other people. If the IPs have a match with any user, all the votes would be deleted, and a warning to that user, and a day to stay before their suspension for 1 week. {Given some time to read their mistake, and to realize their mistake, and to heed the warning}If the IPs dont match, the new accounts would be examined seperately. If the IPs of ALL those accounts match with each other, all of them would be deleted. If the IPs of <4 or 4 accounts match, the votes from three would be deleted, and the warning would be given to the most active one. If the IPs do not match at all, then all the accounts would remain intact. Nobody would want to buy/purchase/subscribe various internet connections just for a election.The winner should also have only a temporary position as it would be a kinda unfair for other users who do not have a chance. 1 month or 2 months perhaps?I guess 1 month is enough
cotton • 29 April 2013 at 8:56 PM
@frosted Not trying to be nosy here, but I think that's way too much work for the mods.
Deleted • 29 April 2013 at 8:58 PM
@cottonWay too much?It could start with 50 people, 25 people or maybe even 10 people.I do more work than that regularly.If they made me a mod, I'd do that all in a day
shelby • 29 April 2013 at 9:01 PM
How would you do best dressed, best hair, etc?I'm pretty sure most users don't post pictures of themselves.How would this word?
icymuffin • 29 April 2013 at 9:12 PM
This, meh. I wouldn't care it was implemented or not. Seems like other users may enjoy it though.@shelby I think they mean Egg Cave based ^^So best collection, best creature/travel combination etc... rather than those@frostedI don't think it would be such a big deal that many users would create multiple accounts to win...But if it requires constant Mod surveillance, there's probably something wrong with the system, no? I think that the Mods already have a lot on their plate to deal with. This would be just... unneeded.
shelby • 29 April 2013 at 9:14 PM
@icymuffin Oh well he/she said best hair/best dressed/etc so I was confused.
rileytibbles_side • 29 April 2013 at 9:41 PM
@shelby Those were just examples in case someone didn't know what a superlative is π@frostedThat seems like a good solution@cotton:/It wouldn't be too much work. And they don't have to do that with every vote. Just with suspicious votes.@icymuffinI don't think it would be ''uneeded'', because there would end up being accusations and anger being past through the website if there wasn't a secure voting system
april__ • 29 April 2013 at 9:54 PM
@rileytibbles_side I really love the idea. I do! I just worry that somehow, someone always ends up with hurt feelings. Like, if they don't win or whatever. BUt it happens! I love the idea.@frostedYou're making this way more complicated than it is. O_O I personally am way too lazy to make multiple accounts. I'm sure if it happened, the mods would figure something out. Maybe even just making it so you have to be at least a month on the site to vote? Which sounds harsh to newbies, but a lot of them wouldn't even know enough about most users anyway. Still. I don't know. You'r emaking it over complicated. XD
rileytibbles_side • 30 April 2013 at 12:05 AM
@april__Well, when it comes down to any event or release on here people can get their feelings hurt. So i think this would just be another fun little event! Thanks!:-)Also @frosted yeah i think that just putting a limit would helpπ
Deleted • 30 April 2013 at 4:45 AM
@april__I am also lazy to make multiple accounts. π I hardly made my sides, as I hate the procedures of the email service, registration etc. and so on. What I told was the solution to all drawbacks of this.But the winner could gain respect in the community, which would lead to various statuses of people in Egg Cave.Or they would get more friends, and some people may develop jealously and envy or hatred towards them. I know people who are jealous of me, and my cove. -.-
whispers • 1 May 2013 at 8:01 PM
Don't exactly agree with this.This year at my school, when we had superlatives, people were getting violent/aggressive to get people to vote for them. And then, if they didn't win, the people that didn't win treated the person(s) that did win terribly.I don't want something like that to happen (although I'm not saying it possibly might not happen). The community would be corrupt.
fakeworld • 1 May 2013 at 9:12 PM
@frosted I like how you explained it, well far as the fake votes. I've been on a previous website like that, but they handled it by setting up a security system. The SS was made to eliminate users who attempt to try to vote for themselves twice on separate accounts, if the IP was used twice, a notification was sent to site staff, and staff took the time to eliminate the users that was caught cheating. They also made it where is though, accounts had to be 30 days old in order to vote.It's not about the laziness of someone creating a new account, but just implementing something such as this without thinking thoroughly through it before exposing it to the public wouldn't be a good idea. πΈ

I can see the drama this would cause.I completely agree with @whispers.I'd really like to stick with just the userbase doing this rather than the site officially implementing this.
