"Shut up!" Shadow muttered. "No, not ALL I want. I want to be a WOnderbolt... I... Forget it. WHat I want doesn't matter anymore anyways." She crawled out from under the bed, holding the picture tenderly. Setting it on the nightstand, the black pegasus brushed past her roommate and to the door.

Lightie burst down a hallway, then she stopped to look at this new pony named Shadow. "why hi there! the names Lightie, im searchin for my room now. i just came by to say hello" she said in a cheerfull voice to this mare she had met. her light blue coat dashed down the hallway, muttering to herself.

Shadow noticed Toxic. "Oh... You must think that was... Real funny." She muttered, the tips of her ears turning red as she braced for some ridicule. She crept forward, hoping the other mare would just ignore the complete foal Shadow had made of herself. Wonderbolts didn't act stupid. They were cool, collected, and confident.

backstory: she always loved to be a wonderbolt ever since she heard about them. but having a clumsy side, she didn't have her regular streak of confidece when it comes to things. so she wanted to join the Academy, and she thought she could make some friends there. but her parents didn't want her to go, so she snuck out to join the Academy. she told her parents and they let her go.

Shadow didn't hear anything from the other mare, so she just stalked off alone. Wolfie was still in the room, it seemed, but Shadow just didn't care. "What a great start to achieving your dreams, SHadow." She mumbled to herself, shrinking at the sight of other ponies. The mares just continued to snicker at her, shouting rude comments. "Whatever." Shadow said, trying to brush it off with no luck. It stung just as badly as before.

"Those mares gotcha down? well ill show them a thing or two..by having a chat with them." she seemed to mutter something to herself. "...i don't think i'll have a friend in this place..." she muttered to herself. she walked up to the mares, giving them a glare. " now listen closely. do i have to watch you to make sure you don't make fun of that mare? do i stand clear?" she walked away from the mares to her room. still muttering to herself.

Some of the mares scattered, murmuring amongst themselves and shooting Shadow curious glances. Shadow just teared up again. "I... I can handle myself." She whispered, "Really, the last.. The last thing I want is any more trouble." Shadow took a chance and looked up at her friend. "Really, I like you too... But... I'm just... Such a foal..." And with that, she pushed past Dragon Born and cantered for the bathrooms. Nopony could bother her there... Right?

Shadow just ignored Dragon Born's calls, stumbling into the bathroom and hiding in a stall. "Wow, did you see that?" She heard a couple mares walk in. "Poor little Shadow, afraid of everything. I'd hate to be her; just imagine trying to be a Wonderbolt when you're terrified of everything.... How come it's her who gets Dragon Born though?! What does he see in that shy little mare?" Well at least they didn't hate her. "Boy, if I ever get my hooves on her... Dragon Born wouldn't like a mangled mare, would he?" Shadow heard another voice.

Ooo, this sounded fun.

Dragon Born watched a couple of mares walking to the bathroom, and he sat. He just wanted to talk to the poor mare, tell her how she is the best pony he has ever met before.

@ems She stumbled into the stall, speaking in a friendly voice she said "ignore them. they are just trying to get attention, come out of this stall. i promise, if you get laughed at, i will just talk to them. or i will fight them if i must." she was making a motion with her head to come out of the stall once she was done talking to her.

Shadow had heard enough. She went to leave the bathroom, but the second mare grabbed her. "What'd I say I'd do if I got my hooves on her, Gabby?" She asked, smiling. Gabby looked nervous. "Uh, Dragon Born said to leave her--"

"Aw who cares?!" The second mare punched Shadow in the jaw, sending the mare reeling back into the hard tiled wall. "I'm... I'm sorry..." She mumbled, apologizing for really nothing. In her mind, SHadow thought she'd done something awful to deserve the punch though, and soon the mare was upon her again, until Shadow could take it no longer. Gabby had left, and seeing Dragon Born, gulped and nervously tried to run off.

Shadow felt blood trickle down her face. "I'm sorry!" She cried over and over. "I'm sorry!" The other mare ignored her apologies, kicking and punching Shadow as if the mare was a punching bag.

Gabby yelped in surprise, shivering. "Uh... Well... Um..." SHe couldn't seem to find the words to tell Dragon Born anything, and she shook like a leaf, pale with fear.

"Tell. Me." He growled. "Now!" His tail flicked. "Or you will be expelled from the Academy, and you can." He growls. "Never." His eyes glow red. "Come." His magic tightens. "Back!" The magic releases slightly, but she can't escape. "Now tell me, or become the laughing stock of Equestria!"

Gabby began to cry. "There's a fight in the bathroom!" She cried out, fear coursing through her.

Shadow felt the sweet blackness fall over her, knowing all too well that the other mare would continue to beat her broken, unconscious body mercilessly. "I'll never be a Wonderbolt..." She thought to herself miserably.

The mare laughed as "Gabby" returned. "So, Gabby, finally got over those stupid rules?" She stood and left the bathroom. "Have fun getting caught." What she saw when she left though scared her. Gabby was cantereing off at full speed. "Then who...?" The mare began galloping off towards her room to wash the blood off. Oh dear Celestia...

Dragon Born shifted back to his self. "Oh my dear Celestia are you okay?!?" He used his hoof to wipe her mane away from her eyes. "I'm so sorry Shadow... I should've protected you more... I'm so so sorry.."

Shadow was still in a deep sleep, pain washing over her like waves. Gibberish came in through her ears... She couldn't make out anything of the voice, only that it sounded like a friend. And that voice was choked with tears. Her head lolled to the side, her breathing a bit ragged. "Sorry... Can... I... Fix it?" She asked, assuming she'd donw some awful things. She was finally coming to, and her face creased in pain. "Oh I'm so sorry! Please don't... Please don't make me go home! I just... I just want to be a Wonderbolt! I promise I'll fix it!" She rasped, still unsure of who was with her.
