On the other side of the world, a darkness looms overhead. Evil spirits shadow a menacing castle of darkness, a flickering light twitching on and off. "Welcome to Zuma" is on a rusty, wooden sign. Zuma is a place that is always dark. But it wasn't always like that. It used to be a beautiful place full of happy villagers. But a dark, mysterious force destroyed the land and claimed it as its own.

No one dares stand up to this Spirit and its evil companions, living in misery and poverty. Some of the villagers couldnt handle it anymore and turned to the dark side, where they got the best treatment. The Spirit tries to lure everyone to his side so he can take over and eventually turn everyone into servants. The village people live in small, dirty huts and wear tattered clothes. You are lucky enough if you have three meals a day.

Someone needs to stop this force once and for all. A small group of Zumanians, known as the Resistance, has a code to defeat this spirit, known as the Eternal Code.

Sacrifice yourself before others,
Save all that can be good,
If we should come to kill one another,
Then first to die this Spirit should.

The code goes on for a long time, but those are the main lines.

Age: 17
Gender: F
Looks: A short, innocent looking girl with slightly wavvy, platinum blonde hair going down to her middle back and bangs that sweep across the right side of her forehead--though they don't cover her eye. Her build is slightly lanky, but she still has rather nice curves. Levi has creepy violet eyes and stands at about 5' 2", with has pale white skin. She has bright red lips, and straight white teeth. She wears muddy light wash skinny jeans, a tattered red t-shirt and worn red Vans.
Personality: Levi's usually a cold person, loves sarcasm and can be quite rude at times. She has a temper, but a soft spot for young children and people in bad places. She tries pretending not to care even though inside she does. Kindness is pretty rare, but will appear time to time. Levi doesn't necessarily want to hurt people, but when she's angry she loses her empathy and guilt. More often than not though, she'll keep her cool, and tends to be more "quiet angry" than "loud angry". So naturally, Levi can be quite terrifying when she's really ticked off.
Crush: None. Yet. >XD
Other: Her parents were highly ranked in the rebellion, but died when Levi was 10. Since then, Levi has entered the rebellion and trained herself to be harder than nails. She has trouble fighting, but killing no longer bothers her as it once had.

Levi woke up... To the sound of silence. She knew it'd start again real soon though. Screams would fill the air, fires would rage across the village. All because of a single creature. She looked over at the wooden steps that'd lead her from the basement she slept in. Deciding it was best to get out before she got boxed in, the girl crept up the stairs and out into the war-zone she used to call home. Glancing around, she ran towards another building to take covering the shadows.

Mariel was surprised when, hunched over in the dark examining fragments of other people's lives on the ground, she saw movement in her peripheral vision. Keeping her hand on the dagger on her belt, she slowly came up to what she now saw was a girl. "Rebellion?" she asked, slowly, as if she was explaining to a child. "Whose side are you on?"

Levi looked at the other girl. "Rebellion. Who are you with?" She asked warily, her face set in what seemed to be a permanent frown. She pulled out her small pocket knife. It had been her father's.

Mariel smiled. "Same as you," she said, "no need to get antsy with that knife." Mariel, in turn, put her hand away from her belt and smiled back at the girl's frown. Why did everyone seem so DRAB these days?

Levi flipped her pocket knife back into her back pocket, ignoring the girl's smile. She decided to give a grim smirk. "Well good. It's best to be cautious these days..." She sighed. Levi was weary now. Seven years of training to stay alive, prepare to join the rebellion in hopes of avenging her parents had worn her down to the wire. Her frown returned.

Mariel ducked back into the shadows of the town, expecting the girl to follow or go away, but instead someone rushed right into her. In an instant, she was a few feet away from the new person. "Rebellion?" she asked, for the second time that day.

@dv55555 Noo the bad person is the Spirit and its men. The Rebellion is the people against the Spirit.

Mariel smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Yes," she said slowly, "some of us don't like the Spirit as much as it would want us to." She scrutinized the boy. He didn't LOOK like a spy. "Are you absolutely sure you don't know what the Rebellion is?" She asked.

Mariel blinked. She could see the boy's unease from the way he stood and how he refused to talk to her upfront. "I'm not going to hurt you," she said opening her palms so that he could see there was no weapon hiding there, "in fact, I recommend you go home.. if you're not in the Rebellion, not with the Spirit, and not one of these poor civilians," she gestured to the fractured village, "then you'll be caught in the crossfire."

Illuse overheard talking behind her. She peered over the prickly vines and saw a few civilians-maybe rebels-talking. They definitely didn't look like the Spirit's servants and men. She prowled over to see what was going on.

"You guys better rush, you know. No one here is kiddin' 'bout any of this war stuff. No time for chitchat," she said, "and if you don't know what you're fighting against, there's no point in fighting. Best stay out of the way."

Levi gritted her teeth and put the knife away. "If I die, it'll be fighting, not bickering." She muttered, leaning against the building passively and narrowing her eyes. "My problem? I'm sick of this crap."

Guys Mariel is going to specialize in poisons/elixirs and stuff. I just can't picture her directly killing someone. xD

Mariel cocked her head slightly, as if the fight was merely an interesting bug crawling over her boot. "You do realize," she stated, "that we're on the same side here."
