Avatar the Last Airbender~Literate RP

Earth. Fire. Water. Air.
After Avatar Korra restored peace to the land, everything was okay... For a while. Once she died, the Fire Nation took advantage of the lack of Avatar and attacked.
They targeted the Earth Kingdoms, in hopes of killing the next Avatar. Legend has it that the Avatar ran away with their animal guide and hid in the mountains.
18 years have passed and nobody has seen them. Nothing about them is known for certain.
For 50 years the war has raged on. Water Tribe has stayed mostly out of the fight and the few Air Nomads try desperately to restore peace.
Where is the Avatar when they're needed most?

You can either be apart of the Earth Kingdom, Water Tribe, Air Nomads or Fire Nation. You can bend if you want, but you don't need to. I'm going to be the Avatar, but since they're missing for most of the time, I'm going to make another character.

Rules:
-One Avatar ONLY
-No killing other characters
-Be realistic, you can't be all mighty
-No major events without my approval
-If you're going to fight, you can't win every single time. Be fair.
-Be literate! Check your spelling, grammar and punctuation!
-One character only! (Exception of me😋)
-There's as much technology as there is in Legend of Korra. The war stunted progression in that area.

Name: Rennai
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Personality: Stubborn and impatient, despite her name, which is patient in Chinese. She is often excited and makes rash decisions. She can be sarcastic and slightly annoying at times. If you get to know her, you would see that she is caring and kind.
Appearance: Blonde hair, that she died a fiery red that goes to just above her elbow. She has sharp features, arched eyebrows and almost always has a teasing smile tugging on her lips. One of her worst habits is that she grinds her teeth when stressed. Her icey blue eyes don't fit her appearance, but they are one of her most striking features. She has tan skin from exposure to heat and she wears the traditional fire nation reds, golds, yellows and browns. She wears sandals, a light red short sleeved shirt, a dark red loose skirt and black legging so she can move around freely.
History: Her father is in the Fire Nation Army, so her mother, her older brother Huang, her and her little sister Fen moved to just outside a large Earthbending town. Huang decided to sign up for the army too, so he is in training. Her family is fairly wealthy and powerful, so she has a good life.

Gender: Male

Age: Like 19

Personality: Gets jealous easily, which is why he always seems to lose his temper more often than normal. He often likes to be alone, but when around people he knows, he would rather stick with them. Sometimes he can be seen taking on responsibilities that he wouldn't often accept.

Appearance: Dark brown hair which extends down to the nape of his neck. He keeps his hair long in order to cover a small scar near the bottom of his hairline which he received after a not-so-kind waterbending teacher scolded him for messing with another child.

History: He grew up during a period where his parents were fighting. Because of this reason, he often takes on responsibilities that he otherwise would never have.

Personality: Charming, but sort of a jerk. Terra often over-judges his abilities and gets into fights he can't win.

Appearance: Brown, shaggy hair that he refuses to wear up like his fellow villagers. Traditional Earth nation uniform with cut sleeves.

History: Both of his parents were powerful earthbenders that died defending from the fire nation. Because of this, Terra hates every fire bender, no mater how nice they seem.

Personality: Different from other monks, he is more rebellious and into fighting than other monks who want peace. He tends to go off on his own every once in a while.
Appearance: Bald, has airbender tattoos, and brown eyebrows, with hazlenut eyes.
History: His mother is Jinora, but his father died when he was a baby. He has 2 sisters, but they don't see each other much.

Other: Named after Monk Gyatso, Aang's favorite monk and a member of the Council of Elders

Alright! Awk! Sorry, I'm watching a drama, so I'll try.


Rennai walked confidently through the Earthbending village. Her friends chattered happily. She bobbed her head occasionally when her opinion was needed, but she stayed mostly out of the conversation.
Suddenly, earth shot up around them, encasing them in rocks. A few shrieks came out of her friends, but Rennai's pulse picked up. Adrenaline rushed through her.
A slot slid open, allowing her to see the threat. A young boy stood tensely, ready to strike at a moment's notice.

Gyatso stood in the Southern Air Temple. The temple avatar Aang was born and raised in. A statue of Monk Gyatso stood in front of him. The Monk for which he was named after, and the favorite of Aang's. He walked back and sat down next to Yaggi, his Sky Bison. Gyatso began to meditate, and this was his favorite place to do it.
"Enjoying the stay," a dark voice said from behind.
Gyatso whipped around and looked into the face of a firebender. He jumped up, and rushed into the sky using his glider. Landing, he blew a gust of wind at the soldier, when a hundred more started running up. He blocked the attacks of as many as he could. A wave of fire sent towards him singed his fingers, but the rest of him was okay.
"Yip-yip!" Gyatso said, jumping onto Yaggi's back, as he flew up into the air. The firebenders continued to throw fire, but Yaggi dodged them all. They flew to Kyoshi Island, the closest firenation free city to get Gystso treated for his burn.

Terra stood tensely, staring into the eyes of a firebender he had encased in rocks. She caused him to loose his concentration and the encasement fell. He then remembered his hatred for firebenders and tightened his stance. "No firebender will dare to take the great city of Omashu," he shrieked.

Rennai laughed at the boy. He thought he was all that for trapping them briefly. Her laughter brought a few nervous chuckles from her friends.
"Sorry, kid. Come back when you're out of diapers and then we can talk." She smirked at the Earthbender and watched rage fall over his face.

When he got to Kyoshi island, he saw a person on the beach. He walked up to them, a girl who lived on Kyoshi Island, about his age, and a little shorter. Her hair gleamed in the sun and her eyes were a deep, dark green.
"Hello," he said to her, "Umm,, I got this burn.."
"Oh my, you need to get this healed right away, luckily, there is a waterbender woman who recently came here. I'll take you to her!" She said.
She showed him the house they were staying in and he knocked on their door.
A large man with black hair and tan skin opened the door. "I'm looking for a healer," Gyatso said, holding his hand up.
"Come with me," the man said in a kind tone.
He took Gyatso to a woman wearing a blue dress, with Brown hair pinned back from her face. Her soft, blue eyes were kind as she healed Gyatso's hand.
When he left her home, a giant airship pulled out of the sky and fire nation ships could be seen on the shoreline. Flames started pouring from the sky, and off the ships came fire benders on komodo rhinos.

Terra realized he was outnumbered and outpowered. Staying would be suicide. He drew a rock from the ear and kicked it in their direction. He then made a massive plume of dust and shot off across the earth. Many of his people were fleeing Omashu to Kyoshi Island. He wanted to stay in fight, his dad would have, but he just couldn't. He ran to the family stabled and led out his saber-toothed moose lion. He hopped on its back and boarded one of the fleeing ships. He looked back with shame and injured pride as Omashu became more distant, yet clearly visible as it burned.

The boy's face changed and all of a sudden- Wham!
A rock thudded into Rennai's stomach, throwing her backward into the ground. Dust flew up, shrouding the Earthbender. She could hear his footsteps as he fled.
Rennai jumped up, anger boiling in her bruised stomach. She ran after the kid, forgetting about her friends and where she was.
He disappeared into a barn and came out with a Sabertooth moose lion. The pair took off to the shore and climbed onto a boat.
Without thinking, Rennai followed onto the ship, realizing too late where it was going.

Name: Tecihna (she doesnt give out her real name, and goes by Mek.)
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Personality: Shes usaully rather quiet at first meeting someone, but ends up being a prankster and a bit of a thief once you get to know her. no morals, she does what she wants, when she wants to.
Appearance: She has long, curly silver hair, with almost shocking white eyes and very pale skin. Her pupils are nearly invisable, making her look like her eyes are pure white from a distance. She is small and slight, making her look younger than she is.
History: She was born in the southern water tribe, but her parents thought she looked too much like a freak, causing them to abandon her in the iceflows. She was eventally found by visitors from the northern tribe, who adopted her and raised her. They were killed when she was 6 by firebenders, leaving her alone. She has studyed water bending extensivly.
Air, Earth, Fire, Water: She doesnt consider herself part of any one nation.
Bending: Water. Specializes in healing and ice bending.
Other: She isnt very good at the basics of bending normal liguid, but is a genius in ice bending and average in healing.
