You are in Blackoak Asylum, an asylum placed right in the middle of the world's largest science and research center. (😋) You don't remember how you got here, but you know that you don't belong here. Dr. Kraven, the head of the Asylum, is keeping you here. But you have one thing in your favor, every Asylum member has special powers. You know your powers are the real reason you're in this place. Dr. Kraven altered your brain, and you have a phobia that prevents you from using one or both of your powers because your too scared. You have to overcome this fear, and the longer you go without taking Dr. Kraven's injection, the easier it is to overcome. One day, the doors to all the cells open, sirens blare, and lights flash. What is happening? Who opened the cell doors? It's your chance to escape! But the center has the highest grade weapons and technology, so to escape, you'll need to unite to overcome the security. It could take weeks to escape, and once you do, where will you go, outside of the science and research center is acres of forest. You never know what type of technology the guards will have, or what sort of mutants they'll release on you. Do you have what it takes to escape Blackoak Asylum?

Clive and Mariel Heraldi were lucky to have a cell together. Together, they could comfort each other and take care of each other as they faced the brunt of the asylum. They didn't even remember where they came from, or how they got there, no matter how hard they wracked their minds for memories of anything before Dr. Kraven. There was nothing. Just emptiness. They didn't even remember not having their powers, although they knew that it was somehow connected to the reason why they were there. But both twins, no matter how hard they refused to admit it, knew that they had given up. There was no escape, just tests and cells and darkness.

The cell doors opened with a bang, and Mariel and Clive both flinched back at the noise. The cell doors never normally opened like that. Fearing an attack, or maybe some sick test, Mariel and Clive conversed silently in their minds.
"What's going on?" Mariel said into Clive's mind. "This has never happened before."
"Are you sure you didn't just make some illusion?" Clive suggested sarcastically, but stopped as he saw the horrified look on his sister's face at the thought. "Okay," he thought out slowly as they both peeked out of their cell, not daring to step out just yet. "This has never happened before. Do you think he's planning something?"
Mariel shook her head. "Dr. Kraven wouldn't do that, his things are too valuable for him to let us run amuck, even with these." She pointed at a security camera that was aimed right at them.
"So it's not a plan.." Clive rolled the thought around in his head. It wasn't a plan. Then what was it? Who opened the doors? What was going on? There must have been some motive, some reason why this happened. They just needed to figure it out.
"It's not a plan, Clive." Mariel thought slowly, "It's our escape."
Gathering herself together, Mariel stepped out of their cell, and smiled.

Scott sat in his cell, all alone, he hated it. He didn't remember how he got there, but he sometimes had flackbacks of his old life. Suddenly, his cell door open, the metal screeching as it pulled up. He peered out the door, and saw nothing.

"I'm just going to run!" he told himelf. Closing his eyes and turning invisable, he sprinted down the hall, running past a girl who had just stepped out of her cell.

Then, the sirens started, red lights flashed on all walls. He almost ran straight into a security guard.

"Who let the inmates out!!" the guard scream, angry. Scott ducked into a closet, and made himself visible. It was dark, but he didn't want to turn on the lights.

"I'm finally escaping!" he thought to himself. He heard the stomp of feet, and the clinks on the buckles of guards boots. The sirens still blared, but he turned himself invisible and sat down. He covered his ears to block the sound and waited.

@marinalily @skittlejg @inkstep @ashfire

It was always the same thing everyday. Wake up to the sound of the guards raking their metal baton's across the exactly 3 1/2 inch spaced metal bars, sit in your cell for exactly 1 hour before being fed some sort of weird slop they supposedly called "breakfast" and later "lunch" and "dinner", get taken one-by-one to the Doctor's office to be poked and protruded at in uncomfortable ways, get dragged back in your cell and listen to people cry themselves to sleep till you eventually fell asleep yourself.

Yea, everything was like clockwork in this place. No one skipped a beat; not even for a moment.

So when the doors pulled open and the sirens went off at 8:02 in the morning...everyone knew something was truly "off."

Lance sat up in his cell with a slight jolt. The alarms had startled him from his dreaming slumber, which he both hated and enjoyed at the same time. He looked around at the sight around him. He noticed his cell was open and there were other prisoners roaming around the halls.

He also noticed the sound of the guards yelling and their boots clanking against the metal grates along the hall. "They had to be close..." He thought to himself, quickly getting to his feet.

"The one day the Doctor fudged up, eh? Maybe life doesn't hate me afterall!" He said, grinning wildly.

Without wasting anymore time, he ran out of his cell, passing a pair of twins along the way.

@skittlejg (VV-- They go into Scott's closet! 😋) @inkstep @ashfire @kurochi-akuma (EDIT: Sorry, I posted late. /headdesks)

Mariel and Clive tensed as the sirens started to blare. That was a sound they had never heard before, and a sound they wished they wouldn't hear again. They could hear the pounding of boots and the yelling of the guards.
"Come on, come on!" Mariel yelled at Clive in her mind, waving him over. Clive dashed forwards, giving the cell one last sweeping glance before grabbing Mariel's hand and running. "Hopefully," he panted, not even trying to speak in Marie's mind anymore, for the sounds were already loud enough to conceal whatever he said. "We don't have to face any more fears today."
Mariel nodded grimly in response, then pointed towards a closet as they both dashed into it, closing the door once again, their pants filling the air as they held their breath, listening for the soldiers.

Yes! I was hoping someone would do that!

As Scott sat there, he noticed the door open and close. Looking up, he saw two kids walk in, they couldn't be more than 18. The girl was the same one he saw earlier, another prisoner. He contemplated whether he should show himself or not. Quietly, Scott stood up, and slipped behind the two like a shadow. As he turned himself visible, he put a hand over both of their mouths.

"Don't scream," he whispered, and let them go, "I'm Scott, a prisoner here just like you guys, I can turn invisible, which is how you didn't see me when you first walked in. I can also control... electricity and lightning." His heart was about to explode, from the sirens, to the escape, to just the thought of lightning. He couldn't take much more, and sat back down.

Eviana sat in her cell, stroking the cold hard ground. She sighed. Why was she here first of all? Eviana wanted to be a normal person in a normal world, not trapped in some weird lab. Eviana then heard the sirens blare, she blinked and looked up from the ground. She thought she saw some person run by here. Eviana stood up and looked outside her cell bars. She tried looking to her side, but it didn't work due to the bars blocking her. She sighed again, and then went back to sit down. Eviana never had the courage to break out, she was so scared to see what if she did.

Only a few minutes had passed before the young gentleman Eviana saw before ran passed her cell in the opposite direction he was originally going. He stopped just after her cell, briefly glancing inside, a look of both panic and urgency on his face. "Hey, you! Didn't your cell open up?" He asked quickly, looking behind him.

Deleted • 16 July 2013 at 8:35 PM

Eviana shrugged.
"Er..." she said quietly.
Eviana then tugged on the door, it jerked open.
"I guess it must've been jammed..."
She then quickly climbed out and then ran after the boy, trying to catch up. Eviana then eyed other people. She wondered if her cell was the only one jammed.

@ashfire (Too lazy to ping others~ ( )=3=( )) (Last post for me for the night! 😊 )

Lance saw that she was heading in the direction he was going away from and grabbed her wrist to stop her. "Not that way...Trust me on this." He said with a wink, looking down at her since their height difference was pretty drastic, "Come on, follow me."

He let go of her wrist and turned on his heel, looking for a different way to escape or at least hide for the time being. He pushed past the other prisoners in the hall, occasionally looking over his shoulder to check to see if she was still following him, then turned a corner and opened up a door to a room.

"Seems safe enough. Let's stay here for the time being, okay?" He said, holding the door open for her and smiling.

-
The life she had spent in her cell had mostly numbed any thought or sense of the outside world, and as the sirens rang in her ears and the cell door weight released and it sprung open, Pixle was pressed hard against the furthest corner of her cell in pure, bone rattling, heart stopping fear.
The outside world had more chance of getting shocked, or wet, or being electricuted, or rained on, rain brought lightning, which was just another chance at her short circuiting and her heart blowing out. Plastered against the corner, Pixle's light sensitive eyed stayed wide but shielded behind her orange lensed goggles, her fingers digging into the hard stone wall behind her and her feet pressed hard against the floor as she striggled to make herself smaller-smaller surface area meant less of a chance for the electricity to travel through her, less of a chance to be super charged like a power line.
the sirens continued to wail and flash, the sounds of people escaping began to draw her towards running, but the deathly fear of exploding due to overload, or burnout, or even a small discharge shock from a carpet, kept her held in place in her cell. It was safer there anyway.

The twins instantly struggled as they fought against the hand that clasped their mouths. They didn't scream, of course, partly because if they did, the guards would come and catch them and they would be right back where they started. Instead they whirled around as a unit to face the man holding them after he let them go. Who was he? How did he get here? And how did they not see him? Both twins visibly relaxed when he said he was a prisoner there too. It was good to know they weren't alone, but they still eyed him warily, holding a conference in their minds.
"Who is he?"
"He told us who he was, Clive."
"Is he really a prisoner here too?"
"Well maybe he's a solider, hiding in the closet to skip work," Mariel thought sarcastically.
"Okay, okay, he's on our side."
"I guess so." And that was that.
Mariel pressed an ear to the door as she listened for guards. There was a break between waves, and they should be running. "I'm Mariel," she said, then jerked a thumb towards her brother. "That's Clive. Pleased to meet you, Scott." She opened the door wider, then slipped out.
"Yeah," Clive said without infliction. "But we've best be going. I don't know about you, but we need a way out. Perhaps we'll have a proper introduction later." He smiled, and with that, Clive joined his sister outside.

Eviana blinked and nodded.
"Er," she said clumsily, "I'm always full of dreams, most of my friends say it messes with my brain."
She then walked after Lance, avoiding the other prisoners. Eviana then nodded and walked by the door into the room. She sat down, and blinked. She was scared, what if the people who worked for Dr. Kraven found them? Surely there would be consequences. She then ignored her thoughts and then looked at Lance.
"I never caught your name," she said, "mine is Eviana."

Lol, thanks for posting, I'm just extremely bored and was wanting to do some of this RP. 😃

Scott walked out into the hall and turned invisible, following closely behind the twins. He saw two people turn a corner,
"Let's follow them," he whispered.

He walked down the hall and peered around the corner first. No guards, but he could here the clanking of their boots and knew they had to be nearby. There were many rooms down this hall, but he opened the door to the first one and peered inside. There were two people in there and they stared at the mysteriously opened door.

Scott pulled his head out and said, "There are two people in here, but I think that they are other prisoners. (Lance and Eviana) Let's go in."

Scott walked in the room, his feet tapping on the ground. He couldn't tell what the room was for, it was too dark.

"Hello," Scott said turning visible as he was an arms-length away from the people. He could see fear in the girls eyes. But the man, who looked slightly older than him, had no emotion, but just curiosity. He held out his hand.

"I'm Scott, an escaped prisoner. I'm assuming you are too, would that be correct? Because if not, I'm afraid you're not going to be too happy in a couple minuets." He said, a wry smile curling across his face.

Mariel and Clive were irritated. Scott's dissapearing and whispering over their shoulders was not comforting. At all. They constantly looked behind them at the noise of footfalls but were always dismayed by the appearance of no one. Scowling, Clive and Mariel both followed obligingly towards the room.
"Tell me again why we're following him," Clive thought out.
"Why not?" Mariel answered, distracted by the two other prisoners in front of them. A guy, and a girl, both a bit older or younger than them. Her heart sped up at the thought of having to.. to.. fool them with her illusions. A cold sweat beaded on her hands, but she steeled herself anyways. She was struck out of her thoughts by Clive's thinking.
"Why not? Uh, maybe this is an assassination attempt."
"Riight." Mariel thought.
Clive glowered at her. Why did she always get the last say? But he smirked anyways, choosing to talk out loud. "Girls, girls, we're not here to fight. I think we all want one thing-"
"Out." Mariel finished for him.
Clive groaned. She really did always get the last say.

"Girls, girls, we're not here to fight. I think we all want one thing-" Clive said, slightly annoying Scott.

"Out." Mariel finished, as Clive groaned.

After they had introduced themselves and learned each others names, they decided to make an escape plan.

"I think, we first need to make sure nobody else is still in their cells," Scott said, "Any more people we can get are helpful to us."

The march of boots outside suddenly pounded on their eardrums. They all quieted down for a second.

"I can turn invisible, so I'll go check, and when I come back, I say we go."

Scott left without leaving anyone to object or agree. He disappeared and sprinted down the hall. His legs carrying him faster than ever before. He searched in every cell. Empty, empty, empty.

When Scott reached the last one, he assumed no one was in there. But he heard breathing. The marching guards made to much noise to hear anything, but Scott was quiet, and heard it faintly tickling his ears.

At first, it was is if the girl was invisible, but she all of a sudden popped out of nowhere and surprised Scott. He turned visible and said, "Hello, I need to get you out of here," as he extended his hand to her. "If we don't go soon, the guards will eventually find you."

(I'm....just going to travel back in time a bit, since I was left out of the RP. xD Deal with it! c: )

Lance walked in after the girl and closed the door tightly behind him. Due to some sort of safety concern, he guessed, none of the employee's doors ever had any locks. 'Just great.' He thought.

He turned around when he heard the girl ask for his name. "It's Lance. Nice to-" His sentence stopped in mid-word as he heard the door he had just closed open up behind him. He spun around, tightening his fist, ready to attack anything that walked through that door, but there was nothing there. It was as if the door opened on itself, but that, in itself, would be impossible.

His look of rage slowly melted into curiosity as he stared at the door. He stepped back next to Eviana, trying to wrack his mind for how that was possible. Then it happened.

A boy- or rather a teenage boy, with short black hair, appeared out of mid-air and claimed he was a prisoner as well. Lance knew it had to be true. What else would explain the weird powers? And so, he went with it.

"Sup! I'm Lance, this here is Eviana. We're both prisoners so no need for the not-so-happy moment, okay?" He laughed, smiling at Scott.

In the next few minutes, he met with/was introduced to two other people. The twins he had passed in the beginning were there, along with Scott. Introductions were quick, but they might as well have been, after all, they WERE in the middle of an escape plan...

After that, Scott had told them he was going to find more prisoners to help and without much consolation took off outside the room. Lance sighed, "That idiot is going to get himself caught again."

Mariel and Clive both eyed the other prisoners after Scott left, not really trusting everyone. They introduced themselves anyways, as everyone seemed to be doing so.
"I'm Clive," Clive said, grinning.
"I'm Mariel. Pleased to meet you, Lance."
Both twins smiled then glanced around the room. It was dark, and they weren't able to discern anything.
"Geez," Clive muttered, trying to mask his fear. "You'd think that in a place like this they'd at least have some lights."

Scott left the room, and Clive raised an eyebrow. He'd expected more of an "every man for himself" kind of thing here, but no. They were all working together and introducing each other like thry were at a cocktail party. He anxiously ran a hand through his hair, glancing at the room's darkness. He didn't like that. Not at all. Sighing, he plopped down onto a table, sitting so that he was facing the door. He was pretty used to the sound of the sirens now, but the sound also worked well to slightly mask the pounding of hostile boots and their yelling.

Mariel glanced warily at her brother. For one so afraid of the dark, he was handling himself pretty well. But any darker, and Mariel knew Clive would break. Honestly, she didn't know what they were supposed to do now. Were they supposed to wait in the room or should they just run while they could? The guards were bound to sweep all the rooms sometime, and then they would be found. Were they making some sort of prisoner club? Pacing quietly across the floor, she stopped every few seconds to listen and to tense when she heard boots on the other side of the door.

Lance looked back and forth between the two twins, their faces were dark and barely seen, but he could sense their distress. "Man...It's really dark in here, isn't it?" He noted, walking over towards the door. His hands trailed down the left side of the door in search of a light switch, but he didn't seem to feel one. He felt over to the right side of the door, his fingers catching a small nub, which he figured was the light switch, and flicked it upwards.

The darkness that overwhelmed the room before was now lit up brightly by the overhead lights. The room was an office of some sort. There was a large wooden table in the center of the room and eight wooden chairs, four on each side, around it. The carpet was a dull navy blue color and the walls a bright, almost blinding, white.

He could see everyone a lot more clearly now that the lights were on and he turned towards them all. "Okay. We can't stay here forever. I vote we get out and find the way out as quickly as possible. Any objections?" He was never really the type to take the lead on group efforts and it surprised him a little by what he was saying. He knew he got roped in with these other prisoners, and even though he wanted to go solo on this escape mission, he knew there was no way around it. 'These kiddos need someone to follow, I guess.' He thought to himself, awaiting their responses.

Eviana smiled and then looked at the door opening itself. She blinked and scootched into the corner a little more. Eviana felt scared, she hated things that opened by them selves, especially doors. Eviana then sighed in relief when she Lance said it was another teenage boy. She then saw a pair of twins, she blinked as she saw Mariel.
'Well, at least I can now have a chance of having a friend,' she said in her head.
She then turned her had and started to listen to Lance. Eviana did not have any objections, she'd rather run away into another place then be stuck in the dark here.

whoops I forgot to post again
--

the small albino stayed in her corner, her eyes wide still and her hands digging further into the wall, the electric look in her eyes was unmatched, despite being clouded by fear. Staring up at scott, Pixle blinked once, pulling her goggles down to get a better look. She wasn't too social, but had at least seen his face once or twice, but never really cared about him, and never cared to get his name either.

shaking in place, the sound of the guards growing closer, she hesitantly got to her feet, her short stature dwarfed by the cell she was held in. Brushing whispy bangs from her face, Pixle stayed silent, examining Scott with little to no trust-but more trust towards him than she had for the guards-and nodded once, more than willing to follow, but less than reluctant to speak.
(apologies for the short post)

Scott grabbed Pixel by the hand and ran as fast as he could. They almost reached the corner, when the thud of boots was too close for comfort. He dove into the last cell, Pixel falling as she was pulled in with him.

"Quiet," Scott whispered. He let Pixel stand on the corner and stood in front of her turning invisable, her hand digging into his. He sqeezed his eyes shut.

Once the clanking nightnamer was over, he turned around, Pixel still squeezing his hand. But she wasn't there. Scott shook his hand free from her invisable grip, and she appeared in front of him.

"Wow," Scott realized, "I can turn whatever I touch invisible too."

Touching the wall, Scott turned himself invisable. However, only a small portion of it turned invisable. He realized he can only turn a small amount of other things invisable.

"Come, we need to go!" Scott said, as they both ran back into the room with the others.

Pixle followed every order Scott gave, her heart racing and her head spinning as she followed after him, her scarf tailing behind her as they ran. The sound of the guards echoed down the halls, off the floor and around anything and everything as they ran. The pounding of her heart slowly but steadily grew in her head as the fear hit her-they could be killed, tortured, put back under lockdown and possibly restricted from food for some time.
great
suddenly she wished none of this had happened and she could've just stayed in the small cell with only her thoughts and moans or screams-mixed in with lame, mindless chatter- from the other 'experiments' she had been kept near. The albino squeezed her eyes shut as they ran, trusting that she wouldnt fall-despite the heavy limp-at least until they got there
The room was unexpected-what was more unexpected was the others that occupied the space. Suddenly she found herself wondering how easy it would be to slip away from Scott's grip and head back to her cell, while half of her wondered why she was so scared-being here had taken something from her, and that something happened to be the rebelious spirit she had best been known for.

Lance could feel his mind slip, his eyes widened for a brief moment, then went to a dull dazed look. He walked over to the door in the room. What was he doing? He couldn't control anything, not his muscles nor his mind. He felt like everything around him was going black, blurring out everything except that one task; opening the door.

He reached out and grabbed the handle of the door, turning and opening it for whoever was on the other side. His look was emotionless and cold, but he couldn't tell. He couldn't control it anyways. He saw a boy and a girl standing in the doorway hand-in-hand. As much as he wanted to question who they were or what they wanted, his body had a different plan. He stepped back away from the entrance way, pulling the door further back to let them both in willingly.

'Who are they...?' Was all he could think, before his mind slipped under total control.

Clive instantly relaxed as the light filled the room. He wasn't sure what he would've done if it had stayed dark any longer. Looking around but not really taking in his surroundings, he found that the room wasn't a torture chamber, so it wasn't a concern. Letting out a breath he hadn't been holding, he stayed propped up on the table, alert.

Mariel was glad that Lance had finally found the lights. Clive was already pretty freaked out as it was, and he'd never had to deal with darkness for so long. She looked sideways at her brother, now more relaxed now that he had the light. She felt sorry for him, having such a large fear.

Mariel and Clive watched, openmouthed, as suddenly Lance opened the door. Why was he doing that? Didn't he realize that they were in danger? Why wasn't he checking to see who was outside? They both frowned. "Lance!" Clive hissed. "Why're you opening the door?" But he was in some kind of trancelike state, and on the other side they could see a girl and a boy holding hands. Both twins were on their feet in an instant. No use hiding now. Maybe they should've run solo while they had the chance. Now their exit was blocked.
"What's he doing?" Clive yelled into Mariel's mind.
"If I knew," Mariel thought calmly. "I'd tell you."
"He's being seriously freaky."
"By not responding to you?" Mariel asked plainly. "Maybe he just has good sense."
Clive ignored that. "Maybe we should talk to him."
"We tried that already."
"No, I mean-" Clive pointed to his head.
Mariel nodded. "I'll try."
She reached out with her mind, unused to speaking with anyone but her brother. Feeling the tendrils of Lane's mind, she grasped them. "Lance!" She called out into his head.

But he went back to normal, and the prisoners introduced themselves. "I'm Mariel. And he's Clive." Mariel said without infliction. "Prisoners."

Lance stumbled backwards a bit and held his head in one of his hands. He felt a little dizzy, but it soon subsided after he was released by whatever was holding him. He looked over at the boy and girl suspiciously and tried hard not to narrow his eyes. He didn't like the feeling of being mind controlled. Not in the slightest. He didn't even know how, but he felt violated in a way.

Still, he didn't want to make, which ever one of them did it, do it again, so he put up the best poker face he possibly could and smiled.

"I'm Lance. We were all prisoners, but now we're trying to escape. Want to come with? We could use all the help we can get..." He asked, practically hitting himself on the inside for even suggesting the idea.

"Sure only if you don't mind and if you are wondering why i do all the talking. Its because she isn't a people person." Tyler said ,pointing at his sister. "I can to be a people person. I just choose not to be." Zoey said defensively. "Sorry" Tyler said holding his hands up in surrender. "Well everyone If i were you I would stay away from me" Zoey said. "Okay thats enough little sis" Tyler whispered to his sister. Zoey started heading to the door to leave."Where are you going" Tyler asked. "I need to go let off some steam" Zoey said. Before Tyler could argue with his sister. She was out the door.
