Hello everyone! I just got started here and have a question about trading creatures.

When I was looking through all the creatures I saw that they all have rarity numbers. Is that what there value is based on? If so do creatures of the same rarity trade for other creatures of that rarity? Also if that is how value is determined, how do you know how much EC to offer if a person is selling the creature?

Oh also, can you post links that take you to other sites on your profile?

Also I would love to get some new friends that I can actually talk to on here! Add me? 😃

@faerie_eclair_mallow

Hello! 😊

Welcome to Eggcave~!

Free free to check out the FAQ and Terms of Service since you're starting out the site. 😸

Also, to answer your first question.

A creature's rarity number is based on how many living creatures of that species are in Eggcave. The lower the number, the closer the creature is to becoming extinct.

To determine the value of a creature, depends highly on how many people /want/ that creature. It can also depend on these variables: creature's stage/type of creature/starred/and if its frozen.

As a general rule, 1 CC = 4,000 EC, so you can use this guide to determine your creature's value: http://eggcave.com/forums/topic/42588

Secondly,

You can post links to other sites as long as they have no inappropriate material on them. Just know that they will not be hyperlinked. Only Eggcave related links will be hyperlinked.

Hope that helps~! ❤️

Have fun. 😊

@kurochi-akuma

that does help very much thank you! I will definitely check these things out so I can get the hang of things and figure out creature values and anything else I am unsure of!

Thank you very much for your help!

I do have one question though.

Can creatures go extinct? If they can what leads up to that happening?

Thanks again!

@faerie_eclair_mallow

Here extinct means that the creature can't be found in the cave anymore. And Ian just decides which ones the next will be xD

But there haven't been any species that have totally disappeared from the site c:

@faerie_eclair_mallow

No worries! I know its a lot to take in when you're new and such. ^-^ Hehe.

Yes, a creature can become extinct on Eggcave.

Currently though, no Eggcave creature is in the extinct status, but there are a few in the endangered status. Much like in real life, Eggcave creatures can become endangered or extinct.

Endangered creatures - can no longer be obtained at the Cave like they once were able to. They only creatures that are left are those in people's coves.

Extinct creatures - This happens when all living creatures of that species die on Eggcave. It will...basically disappear and the only memories left of it will be left in the Archives.

Hope that helps!

Also, there are two other terms you should know.

CSP (Cash Shop Park) Creatures - these are creatures that can only be obtained with real money or CC (Cave Cash). There are usually two of them that come out at each month!

LE (Limited Edition) Creatures - these are creatures that are available only for a short period of time and after that time are retired for good.

There are also two collectable cave creatures that you can get from the cave every month, so keep a look out for that! ^-^

Aye, that was a lot of writing.

Anyways. I'm happy to help anytime. ;3

@kurochi-akuma

Haha sorry to make you write a lot.

Yeah it is a lot to take in for me. I am not sure if your allowed to mention other websites, but I play neopets so this is very different from what I have played.

But when a creature becomes extinct it can never come back to the egg cave right? Also can it still be obtained through trading after extinction?

And for the creatures you can get with cash, are they still tradeable? Do people ever accept EC for them if it is equal to the 1CC = 4000EC ratio?

And one last thing (sorry), but how do you know which two creatures in the egg cave are the LE ones? And are they more rare than the others currently in the cave?

Thanks again xD 😊

@faerie_eclair_mallow

I'll number your questions. (~o3o)~

1. Icymuffin kinda confused you. You see. I think she meant endangered. Like I said, endangered means they can't be obtained from the cave, but they can still be traded by other users on Eggcave. Extinct means that ALL of the creatures (in every known account) of that species is dead. Therefore, no one can trade them anymore. Ian can decide when something goes endangered, but it depends on the users if something goes extinct. 😊

2. Yes, the creatures you get from CC are tradeable. Many people sell CC creatures for 2 mil EC each. Which is basically following the guideline 1 CC = 4,000 EC, since CC creatures are 500 CC each.

3. Usually there will be an announcement on the Blog. Currently, the Feggle and Pogknot are the two cave collectibles this month. They aren't really more rare, their rarity MAY increase after they retire in August, but for now they are really common. There just something nice to collect and sit on for a few months so their rarity goes up. ^-^

You're very welcome.

Feel free to ask anymore~

@faerie_eclair_mallow

Great. Your username has me thinking about faere marshmallows.

Welcome to eggcave, love.~ I'm Nitrome, AKA Icey. [ @Iceyfira ]

I'd talk to you. About comics. And bunnies. And death.

//Shot// Anyways.

About the offering EC, it really and truly depends on the user.
Ah.. let's use me as an example. ^^"
I'm really picky about offers on my creatures, unless I don't like the creature. I want a lot more than what the creatures are worth.

Other users are nicer than me and trade them for what they're worth.

I'm probably confusing you, aye?

@nitromegamer

my username is based off an item on neopets called a faerie eclair and mallow (marshmallow) grundos. It's another site I play and just felt like using the same username 😋

Haha, but Ironically enough I am talking about death with a friend right now...it's not as brutal as you think 0_o

Your definitely not confusing me. I understand that some people either really like there creatures and therefore value them at more or have a lot of sentimental value for them and wouldn't let them go for even double the worth.

I get that completely 😊

OH NEOPETS. I had an account, but I forgot the pass. >~<"

Hm. I think we're gonna get along well.

No confusion from one of my explanations. O-O That's a first.

@nitromegamer

I dunno, I guess I just mostly understand what your saying because similar things happen on neopets. Some people are crazy attached to their pets and expect more than what most people would accept for it. They usually don't trade because of that, but I kinda get the feeling it's different here?

I'm not exactly educated in values but I think I saw someone with a Pantheart that they were really attached to so people were willing to offer more on it.

But I agree 😊 You seem like a nice person 😃

That's basically it. xD And personally, I'm just crazy. x3

I see. But Panthearts go for alot, especially the eggs.
I wanted that Pantheart but I'm broke.

Thank you so much for saying that. Now I feel better. ❤️ But truthfully? I'm a sack of grumpyness. Ask a bunch of users. xD

My best friend, so far from talking to you and checking out your profile, seems to be a lot like you. So We'll probably get along anyways 😸 Plus, everyone's crazy, just some people are more open about it 😉

And oh I see, you saw the forum that had the Pantheart on it being sold?

Would you say what people were offering were around the correct value for it? Because all I know about values right now is from looking at @frosted 's value guide.

@faerie_eclair_mallow

Ooh, thanks, love.~ But non, I mean, I literally am crazy. ^^" I ould explain, but this site is crawling with seven-year olds.

I saw it. I checked it out for a moment, and the highest bid at that point was 450k EC. So I say they were underoffering a bit, Idk what the accepted offer was, so oh well.

Oh really that's an underoffer? I guess it makes sense that I was wrong about the value, being a part of this site for 2 days so far and all 😋

And it's cool if your crazy, we can still get along 😋

@faerie_eclair_mallow

I think the average offer or a hatched Pantheart is 650k? Eggs go for tones more.

Yay.~ Someone who doesn't give a crap if I'm crazy. 8D

@faerie_eclair_mallow
Just as creatures go for high or less in auctions, that does not determine the value as auctions rarely fetch the fair price of a creature. Mostly inaccurate
