Wrong name=No creature

In the cave, I have found a few creatures I wanted. I name them something. But the name is taken. I'm okay with that. But I loose the egg! I have no choice to rename it. If its a invalid name or has been used I loose the egg. I lost a few eggs I wanted.

Hmm, this could be a bug...
Because normally, if the name was taken, a small notice would appear to tell you that, and you'd still have the rights to rename the creature properly.
So sorry to hear that you've lost some eggs you wanted, but look on the bright side, they're still in the cave, they're still available for some more time ^^
You can still get them in the future, but you'd better think of some good names that are still available in case that thing happens again! xD Haha!

By the way, what egg did you lose? I could try using my cave tries and get them for you! 😸

I think they play Egg Cave on their phone. When you play on your phone, it doesn't allow you to choose another name if the name is already taken. It just says this name is not available and if you try to rename it, the box that allows you to change the name isn't there.

@xxthexnickxx What creatures did you lose? ._. Did they actually leave your cove or do they just not come up (like @cutiepie101 said)? Be more specific. Are you using your phone or your computer?

edit: I've just tried and I'm unable to do the same, so it's probably on your end. Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?

Hello, I've experienced this problem while using my mobile, although I've never had this problem while using a computer. What happen is the box flips all over the page, you don't lose the creature, but you lose the box to rename it. I wouldn't recommend using your mobile when it comes to stealing being involved, to be on the safe side I only use my mobile to post in the forums and feed mines, and others creatures or what not, rather then to steal. But if your only way to access Eggcave is via mobile, name the creature something beyond unique, something you'll know available, then once you have a chance to rename it, do that. But I would love to someday find a way to get over this issue. I'm not sure if you were using your mobile or not, but if you were I'm just letting you know that's it's not a bug or anything, it's just "mobile".

Also, a tip: use the search feature (under the 'Your Account' section) and then type in the name you want and select Creatures in the dropdown. The search results (if there are any) are ordered alphabetically so you can sift through those pages to see if the name is taken. If the name hasn't been taken, obviously there won't be any results - so you should be good to go. 😉
