Inappropriate ads aren't Ian's fault.
The ad has to do with what website you are on.
(Well, obviously)

Example, I have up a graffiti related website in a tab.
The ad on the top featured a Graffiti store.

Do not be alarmed if the ad is inappropriate but you are also on a bad site in a different tab.
I'm just saying this so you don't send in a million bug reports to the staff(:
If it ever happens, of course...
Just saying in case(;
If you don't already know this.

Yep. ^^ You don't even have to be on the site at the moment. Your computer saves what sites you've been on and what you've searched using cookies, so it knows what ads to show you. Let's say you search "Egg Cave" everyday. They look at "Egg" and give you ads for egg cartons. I always get Pokemon ads when I visit the Pokemon roleplay. I've even gotten ads for my acting school. Of course, they don't know that Egg Cave has nothing to do with Egg cartons. xD Now, I wonder what made those "76 gas" ads appear...

Also, if the ads really annoy you, you can download adblock for google chrome and firefox and the ads won't show up. I've done it and now I play on eggcave ad-free.

Lols, I don't think that's how ads work. I've never had an advert related to my tabs πŸ˜‹

For instance now, there's a Vodafone free sims text advert up. My tabs are; hotmail, facebook a writing site, VDex (a sort of RPG), an egg cave forum, this thread, and a picture saying "WRITE" (as a reminder to er... write).

@zora I disagree. πŸ˜‹ @trish Sent me to some clothes site because that's what she wanted her chara to be wearing when I drew them, and then it started showing adds for that site XD

Eh, I think Ian gets to approve adds?

Not really his fault, but the adds pay him as he lets him advertise (basically paying the owners of the adds), so wouldn't you think he has a bit of control over them?

Then again not completely sure what the system of these adds are, they are different on different sites 😸

I think that Ian only approves companies that can post ads, not the ads themselves.

@zora @redfire77 it also shows ads that have been on any website you have been on.

@swymr_kyrs thats not true, ian has nothing over which ads are shown.

its also google ads, so sometimes it shows ads that pays google. well, always actually.

@chatial thanks for this! Yes, if you do see any inappropriate ads, please report in a picture of it and/or the destination URL and we can block it immediately. Google chooses our ads, not me personally.

Thanks again.
