Paradise Motel ~A Mystery Roleplay

Sorry, I'm still working hard on the plot of the RP, but I wanted to open it early.

So, this RP is going to be a prequel to my Mortem Vine RP, which takes place at the Paradise Motel. This takes place only months before, and honestly has nothing to do with it. It does, however, involve Nick Worth and Mr. Brown, two of the characters from Mortem Vine. In this RP there will be a murder at the Paradise Motel, and the Motel will be locked down, because they think somebody staying at the Motel is the murderer. Only the police will be able to go in and out of the place.

Now, this all seems fun, but here's the tricky part… if you join this RP, your going to have to get on every/every other day.

This may not seem like much, but in all the RPs I've made, about half of the people join, and then never post anything. So basically, don't bother joining if your not going to do this RP until the end.......

Okay, so now you definitely don't want to join, but it's not as hard as it seems. As long as you can get on Eggcave every other day, and just quickly check up on what's happened, you'll be fine.

I will basically play everybody at the hotel, other than your character, so the suspects, the police, and detectives. Therefore, do not have anybody, especially the suspects, speak, as it will be my job to speak for them. I will also give everybody all the evidence and just tell you if your hunch is right or wrong.

Two, and only two, characters can be detectives, and if you have more than one character, only of them can be a detective.

•Your character
•Mr. (Arthur) Brown- Mr. Brown is the cheery owner of the Paradise Motel, a 55 year old man whose sunny personality may prove to be a scam.
•Nick Worth- A young man, in his late twenties, who has been accused of several crimes. All so far, he has been found innocent, but how long will he be so lucky.
•Mrs. Ringer- Janet Ringer, as she is less formally known, was excited to go on her honeymoon with her new husband, until they missed their flight, and ended up stranded in Nevada. Her husband told her he had found a nice place for them to stay until they could take a flight home, for they had already missed their cruise. When they pulled up to the Paradise Motel, she was most displeased, and they got into a big fight.
•Alexander Fish- An odd scientist who stopped at the Paradise Motel on his way to a convention. He has horrible narcolepsy, and a tendency to sleepwalk. However, considering his medical records show an anger disorder, but neither of the above mentioned problems, everybody is unsure whether he is telling the truth.
•Arnold Cannon- Arnold was going to visit family, when he got a call. For his astounding acting skills, he got a role in a nearby theatre, and took a small detour. He would stop at the Paradise Motel for a few nights, do his acting, and then continue on. Just as his luck would have it, his stay was during the night in question. His files have showed that this seemingly nervous, anxious, and cowardly man has gone to jail for animal abuse and theft.
•Lee Hemming- An old rival of Arnold's, they hated each other in high school, and the feud has continued on to this very day. He was going on a road trip with his sister and girlfriend, when they unluckily stopped at the same motel as Arnold.
•Harriet Hemming- The rough sister of Lee. While his record is clean (or at least, according to the police files), hers is filled to the brim with drunk driving, abuse, and theft. She is rude and inconsiderate, but luckily, she has the solid alibi. She was at Richie's, a small 50's diner just down the street.
•Susan "Ziggy" Pims- The girlfriend of Lee Hemming. She was seen out of her room only minutes before the murder was thought to have happened. With her boyfriend being "asleep," there is no proof of where she had been headed. She says she had merely gone to get a snack and a drink from the vending machines, and then went to Ziggy's room to watch TV without disturbing her boyfriend.
•Lisa Rescurve- A young girl who got lost when she was driving to one of her friends one last time before college. She stopped at the Paradise Motel to find where she was and rest for the night. She claims that she was in the pool during the time of the murder. However, seeing the condition of the pool, it seems surprising that a prissy girl like her would have wanted to swim in it. She showed her wet bathing suit as proof, however, it seemed to be a little too wet. It was dripping as she showed it too the cops, however, it had been five hours since she had claimed to have gotten out of the pool. And would she really have been swimming in the middle of the night if she had needed to pack up and start driving early the next morning?

Well, I really want to RP in this, but I'm not sure if you'll let me because I won't be on all the time.

Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri- Will be inactive, and only get on to RP a few things out.
EXCEPT THIS WEEK BECAUSE ITS OCTOBER HOLIDAY HERE.
I'm talking about normally.

Sat/Sun- Will be very active, almost on all times.

Is that ok?😊

I'll start with a little first person from Mr. Ringer. 😃 😃

I stand in front of her door, a guilty, nervous, terrible feeling runs through my veins.

"Janet," I sigh, "I'm sorry, please let me in, I'll make it up to you."

The door slowly opens, and I'm filled with happiness, but it gets drained out when I see the displeased look on her face.

"I'm so sorry Janet," I say. I set the champagne down, along with the two glasses.

"Excuse me for a moment," I say, heading into the bathroom.

When I get out, Janet has opened the champagne. I pour a tad into each of our glasses. I hand her one of them, and grab her other hand.

"I'm so sor..."

"It's okay, you don't need to apologize anymore," she says, smiling.

The moonlight shines brightly through the window. I feel stupid, but Janet isn't mad anymore.

I pick up my glass of champagne, bubbles appear from nowhere at the bottom, and disappear up at the top.

"To us," I joke with Janet, and we cling our glasses together, both laughing.

I put the glass up to my lips, and let it trickle down my throat. It feels cold, at first. As it runs over my tongue, it leaves a trail, a burning sensation in my throat.

"Are you okay?" Janet asks, "You pupils have gotten huge."

Suddenly, even the sliver of moonlight in the window is too bright. I turn off the lights, and while I'm running to close the window, I freeze. It's as if plasma is pulsing through my veins. I can't move.

"Are you okay, oh my... your burning up," Janet says, putting her hand on my arm, then my cheek and forehead.

I suddenly feel alive, more alive than I ever have before. Everything seems to be happening extremely fast. Janet continues to ask me if I'm all right, my chest rises and falls unnaturally fast, when suddenly, everything does a complete 180.

The world moves so fast it hurts my head, I can't slow down my breathing, and my gulping for air barely lets enough in my lungs to satisfy me.

I can't control myself, my knees buckle, and I fall backwards, partially on the bed. Janet heaves the rest of my body up, but I can't help her, my blood has turned from plasma, to lead. My body jerks uncontrollably, the world becomes blurry, then so clear I can see every little detail, and over again. Red starts pulsing behind my eyes, the blotches cover my vision. Everything happens in slow motion. Every jerk of my body, or pulse of light that fragments my vision, all so slow, I'm almost frozen. Janet is talking, but I can't hear her, just a buzzing in my ear. My mouth froths. I scream, but it only sets my throat ablaze. I taste blood, and the foam from my mouth runs down my chin.

Just as it seems impossible for my muscles to continue on, they stop. My body is gone, I'm gone. And the world fades to black.

Emily stumbled over the steps and dropped hard on the hard, shiny, marble floor of the motel lobby. The motel had been closed down ever since Mr. Ringer's death, and she was one of the "suspects" or more accurately, "an innocent girl that was staying in the motel for 5 nights." Emily shook her fear away, and plopped down on the bouncy furry couch in the middle of the room.

"Poof." Emily got herself comfortable and slowly waited for the other "suspects" to come.

Shadow walked down the steps, wondering how she had ever gotten involved in this. "A murder......" she sighed. All that she had ever wanted to do was paint something really good, and sell it to get a farmhouse. She sat down on the couch, far away from the girl that was already on it.

Mr. Brown stood infront if the group all huddled into the lobby. It was cramped, so many people had never been there at once. He was talking to a police.

"As some of you may know, Mr. Ringer was killed last night. We cannot give you any details. I am sad to inform you that this motel will be on lockdown from now on. The police suspect one of my residents is the culprit. You may not leave the hotel."

A murmur of complaints passed through the crowd.

"What about my show!" screamed Arnold.

"For any of you that truly must leave, you may have police escort… as long as it is within thirty minutes from here," he said.

"Now go back to your rooms. Detective Lancer and Detective Costello will question you all individually," said the police man, speaking for the first time.

Ezra leaned against the wall, waiting for any suspects he could 'interrogate', although his ways were a bit different than other detectives'. His girlfriend was looking for something to eat, as she had not had anything since last night. They hadn't had time sine he got the call about Mr. Ringer. Jessamine didn't usually accompany him to crimes but they had been wanting to spend more time together lately, she was supposed to have gone and waited at her house -- Ezra decided to make an exception this one time. He shook his head with a small chuckle and watched Jess rummage through drawers and stop at a dying plant, looking conflicted. She hurried past him and he reached out, grabbing her by the waist and drawing her to him. She gave a little yelp of surprise that was muffled as he pulled her in for a little kiss. This brought a small but elated smile to her fair face and she pulled away, shaking her head at him. "This is a crime scene!" She was about to say more when he laughed and took her hand, his hand grasping her fingers. "Oh yeah? Weren't you just about to eat a plant that could be evidence?" his eyes laughed. A bright shade of red began to shroud her pale cheeks -- this often happened when Jess was with Ezra. He looked around and examined all the people, checking for suspicious behavior.

Shadow went up to her room. Feeling shaken, she decided to paint. She set up her easel and painted a purple bacground with black clouds on the top with silver lighning striking against the background. When she was done she sighed and took it off to dry. Shadow went over to the window, and decided to paint something else. Her brush seemed to paint of it's own accord, a gray background with a face shrouded in shadows behind bars. A prison. Shadow sighed again, and laid down. She didn't bother cleaning up. She wondered if she could go outside to paint.

So why don't you all go talk to people, talk to each other. I think the two detectives should work together, and then the two non detectives could try to work together and keep getting in the detectives way. 😃
