i realised the donation center is always empty , maybe the admin/mods etc can start it off by planting stuff randomly in the day ? just an idea cause its like extremely empty and i doubt anyone even uses it .

@ibakaboii Do you mean for the staff to donate /their own/ travels or for the site to automatically generate travels that everyone wants and throw them in there? In either case, I am completely against this. :cIt's a /donation center/. No one is obliged /at all/ to donate anything or even pick up anything there. It's not fair for the staff to have to donate their travels (yes, they're moderators, but that's it--they just moderate the site and sometimes help with events and creature descriptions).Nor is it necessary for travels to be randomly generated. All available travels are randomly put into the Travel Agency at a random time. There are also people that trade and raffle off travels.Who said the Donation Center was going to be full all the time? Take a (non-government) charity, for example. They rely completely on public donations. They can't conjure up money out of the blue (or in this case, randomly generate travels), nor can they force anyone to donate (in this case, force people to donate).edit: blarghjasfdh I was half thinking of the adoption centre with the creatures. Right, that's embarrassing. x3

@karamel no what i meant was that for the staff to probably put some random stuff in there , no need for it to be rare or good , just decent for the newbies to pick up . it doesnt need to be full , i just hope that there will at least be some stuff newbies can pick up in the first few days or weeks before they earn enough EC to purchase some other travels and stuff . but of course , this is just a suggestion so i guess no harm asking ? idk >< hehe

@ibakaboii Hmmm, if you were thinking of helping out newbies... Maybe people could set up more newbie gifting? There have been several attempts in the past for this (one of which I've been a part of) and they've all died. There's a recent giveaway just for newbies but I'm not sure if it'll have another round. When I joined, there was a very generous user who gave out free trade lots to users. They're already given 5,000 EC when they join and there are plenty of ways to earn EC - Site Trivia, trading, feeding, auctions, Alkub Racing, etc. I'm not really sure putting in more travels is necessary just because newbies can't get off to a good start. Plus, most travels here aren't limited, so they can get travels whenever they want/need them. 😉

@karamel 5000 EC is not very much. And the site trivia doesn't help newbies at all. Where should they get the answers? I was pretty helpless/clueless about it for more than 2 months. So I agree it's pretty hard to start off here. But with some creativity and effort it's no problem to get a nice cove in not too much time.@ibakaboii Well...I don't really see the sense in the Donation Center. You don't have to buy food here, so that's nothing you could donate, only travels. And that's about the most unimportant in comparison to keeping your creatures alive I can imagine. So I don't see why you want to get it filled up, even just a little. And my big problem with getting stuff for free: Most things won't be taken away by newbies or people who really need it. There always are people who wouldn't need it but use every little chance to get something for free. They can have a fortune and easily be able to buy the things themselves. But why spend anything when you can get it for free? And like I wrote before: with some creativity and effort it's no big deal to get a nice collection of creatures here, even without spending money, in a not too long time. Just look at my cove. I'm here for not too long. But I'm pretty proud of my cove. And I didn't spend a single dollar on the CSP.
