I've been thinking for a few days now about some additions to the site that might be helpful 😊

Idea 1: Instead of going to the 1st page of a conversation everytime you reply, it refreshes on the last page. This way users dont manually have to switch pages.

Idea 2: A feed all button for coves. I've had that idea for a couple days now, and just now typing it thought of a improvement to it. Since some users dont want certain creatures fed, they can choose which of their cove lists can include the feed all button. This helps them preserve that creature, and helps other users feed all of the creatures without going through every single page if they dont want to and/or are busy.

Idea 3: Gift option for eggs. Similar to the gift option for travels, this allows you to gift eggs to other players if you dont want to trade them, or if they are unable to trade back. This feature would allow friends to surprise each other on birthdays or Christmas, etc. or if you simply wanted to help a friend out by giving them some eggs they dont have that you may not want or have multiples of. 😊 (@karamel: thank you for pointing out that I forgot this addition to this idea) It would also have a accept/reject button so people arent swamped with unwanted creatures

Idea 4: For cove lists, instead of typing in names, it shows your creatures like the trade center

Idea 5: Maybe a chatroom of sorts for easier messaging and/or group chats. Possibly could have a main area for group chat between all players on the site in the chatroom, and then seperate areas for IM's between 2 or more players (Mail would still serve for things such as when players want to contact another who is offline, or simply prefer mail over instant messages)

Idea 6: Have a drag drop option for coves. This would allow users to click/drag a egg to a cove tab instead of going through cove lists (the option to do it through cove lists would still be available)

Idea 7: In private messages, rather than refreshing the page when users send a message within the 60 seconds limit, causing them to retype everything, simply have it like on userpages where it says "Sorry, you can only post every *insert # here* seconds" (edit: timer shows how many more seconds until you can post)

Idea 8: BIG BIG IDEA- Allow eCode to apply to both eggcave and eggcavern, that way wishlists from egg cavern can be linked to our profiles

Im sure I had more ideas, but forgot them XD Anyway, those are my ideas 😊

@cosmicbrambleclaw I like Idea 1 and 3.But people already have Idea 2 (like thought of it)

@rosamund XD I'll try to think of more

I thought of one feature, but it would make much sense: sorta like a chatroom, for group chats or easier messages between players like IMs

@cosmicbrambleclaw
Ideas 1-4: EPICNESS!

Idea 5: I don't really need it, but I see how it would help.

@cosmicbrambleclaw Support #1; maybe have pagination for PMs similar to the pagination we have on the forum sections? 😸

No support for #2; people have suggested that multiple times in the past and it has been rejected. People can easily make billions of EC a day with that 'Feed All' button. If you're too busy to feed, don't. If you need feeds, post in one of the free feeds topics in General Discussion--there are plenty! Or stick your creatures in Tim's.

Support #3; however, I'd like an 'accept' or 'reject' button. What if someone sent loads of commons to you and you didn't want them?

Support #4 and #5. We can either have an integrated chatroom (so hosted completely on EC), a shoutbox (for shorter messages) or an IRC. c:

@cosmicbrambleclaw
Feed all: I would suggest that there would also be no benefits from this option. I.E. the creatures' happiness would still go up, but 1) it wouldn't count as a 'feed', 2) you wouldn't get EC, and 3) other possible benefits (currently seeds) wouldn't apply.

Cove list being like Trade Center: I disagree. First off, it would mean that people wouldn't be able to organize their lists alphabetically, by age, or in another pattern. It would also mean they couldn't put a creature in a list more than once.
I've seen some cove lists, where x is one creature and o is another, that have a repeating pattern:
xoxox
oxoxo
xoxox
And so on. This wouldn't be possible. There would be a lot of creative ways people have of organizing their cove that wouldn't be possible.

Chatroom: It's called the Forums and PMing.

I like the other ones, though!

@purrclan as for cove lists, the only thing effected would be the visual, any other features such as xoxo would still be doable, it would just have a easier interface, and theyd still be able to be in multiple coves 😊 basically all that you said would be not-doable, still would be it would just be easier to pick your eggs to go in each list (hope that clarifies ^^; )

@cosmicbrambleclaw
Wait, so I'm confused. Are you saying that it would be like a checklist, where for editing 'Feed these' tab you can select which creatures are in it, like at Tim's or the Trade Center - where the only option is 'yes' or 'no', checked or unchecked box, and the program orders it for you?

Or are you saying it's like the fill-in-the-blank section of a test where you can use a single answer multiple times? Where you have an answer box at the top with all the terms you can use, and you write them down in whatever order you want? Where your whole cove is in one spot, and you can drag creatures over to spots in the cove tab?

Because your phrasing makes it sound like the first, and the second still has its problems.

@purrclan 1st cove idea pertaining to lists: the interface would be the same as the trade area, but the basic functions would be the same, allowing users to do xoxo (etc.) or aplabetic or numeric, etc. functions that they do now

drag drop function: quickly move eggs into your cove tab either to just have it in that list, or to quickly do it and then go back through the cove list area later to organize it into your pattern that you made

for example: (theoretically) I have a cove tab set up alphabetically and I want to add Egg X into it but dont have time to sit around and manually fiddle with things in the cove list page. I simply drag Egg X over to that tab and it adds it to the list, for me to either leave it as is, or go back at a later time and move it to a new place that fits in my pattern.

I hope that helps ^^ I know I word things weird sometimes x3

@cosmicbrambleclaw Pagination is just showing the number of pages and being able to access them quickly. Examples are highlighted here: http://i.imgur.com/32lIeRV.png 😉

I'd like to be able to toggle between your suggested interface and the current one--something like "Search for a creature" and "Select a creature" but you can switch between the two when you select a list in your Cove Lists page. (If you don't understand I can do a screenshot. x3)

#6: I don't quite understand this one... Do you mean that users can drag and drop creatures straight from their profile without having to go to their 'Cove Lists' page? I'd like this as an option, not something that happens without having to confirm it in some way. (I can see myself accidentally dropping my featured into the Mortals tab. xD) Maybe something like "Quick edit" or "Edit cove lists" (on your cove profile, not as a link to the 'Cove Lists' page).

#7: (In Firefox you can press the back button and your text will still be there, by the way.) Didn't understand this one at first. x3 Your message ("Sorry, you can only post every *insert # here* seconds") suggests that if the user has waited 45 seconds (so they have 15 seconds left until they can send another PM), it would say "Sorry, you can only post every 15 seconds". That gives the impression of having to wait 15 seconds and not 60. xD

How about, "Sorry, you need to wait another x second(s) until you can send another message."? I completely support this, though; I often type a lot of text and I have to send two messages and it'd be nice to have a little countdown near the text box or something instead of staring at the ECT clock. 😋

@purrclan Forums, PMs and wall/profile posts are often tedious slower than chatrooms. Chatrooms update live and stay on one page whereas you have to refresh things and click when required for forums.

@karamel

ah, that makes sense XD I like that idea about the toggle 😊 and the timer for pages, thats sorta what I meant XD

the reason I thought of it is because my firefox wants to update and i dont want to, so instead of it bugging me I use IE XD unless Im at school

and the drag thing is pretty much what you thought, you click and hold then drag it to a tab and it would show like "Are you sure you want to add creature to list?" or something like that 😊

...What? o.0 -_-
I was saying 'either this or that' and you replied with 'both', which in this case makes absolutely no sense.
