@nenielsen Hi again. XDWell I agree it should give maybe a bit more EC, but I feel like it should remain a Christmas thing. 😋 I mean, it's a pretty Chirstmas-y looking tree, with all the ornaments and such. I mean, it could be changed for other holidays, but since Christmas doesn't really have a plot (if it did last year, I don't recall it, sorry ^^"), the Advent Tree is sort of it's 'thing'. Like, Thanksgiving (November) gets the Gobbler hunt thing, Easter has something else (wasn't here for it this year) Halloween has its plots, etc. etc.. So really, most of the other holidays already have their things. 😋
nenielsen • 2 December 2013 at 1:33 PM
@ems I personally don't like the plots, at least the gobbler hunting. It's kinda dumb in my opinion. And the advent tree makes Christmas look like "the ultimate holiday" so I think it would be cool if they redecorated the advent tree and had it for different holidays. At least just on the day of the holiday. 😊Thanks for posting! 😃
ems • 2 December 2013 at 1:37 PM
@nenielsenWell other people do like it. xD Not myself, but I think maybe they could come up with something different, rather than taking the Advent Tree. ^^' If they took the Advent Tree, it's make Christmas go from 'the ultimate holiday' to that one holiday that's just like the rest of them. It's kinda stealing Christmas's thunder. xD But you are entitled to you opinion. 😋 And I do agree that some of the activities are rather boring too, I just don't think using the Advent Tree is the right solution. ^^
nenielsen • 2 December 2013 at 1:43 PM
@emsHmmm I think your right. Instead of some of the crummy stuff they do now, and more advent trees, they should do something else for some of the holidays. 😊 Something that doesn't involve reloading a page over and over.... -___________-

@nenielsen xD Yeah, maybe do a set of riddle puzzles for Thanksgiving rather than the Gobbler hunt. 😋 I do like riddles. I just think changing things up every now and then would be nice. ^^

@ems totally! 😊

Hi neielsen, there couldn't Advent at any time other than Christmas. Advent means 'coming' referring to the coming of Christ Jesus which is specifically a Christmas event. It would be kinda like saying "Why not have the Halloween fair for easter, christmas, and valentines day too!". 😊
nenielsen • 9 December 2013 at 12:59 AM
@steinway that may be true, but most people don't know that, and I'm sure they don't think of the word "Advent" that way. Anyway, Christmas is actually not only a christian holiday, but is also based on Pegan beliefs (hence the christmas tree and santa claus). Easter is also a christian/pegan holiday (christian because people believe thats when Jesus came back to life, and pegan because of collecting eggs, and the easter bunny). Yeah I'm a holiday expert... 😋Anyway, I feel more like there should be more interesting events maybe not an advent tree for every holiday month (tho that would be nice) but a more interesting plot. That dumb FInd The Gobblers competition for november was stupid and boring.... at least for me. Thanks for the input tho! 😉___EDITActually just looked it up: Advent means the coming of a notable thing, person, OR event, so not just Jesus. 😊

@nenielsen on wikipedia, the meaning of advent is certainly directed towards Christmas, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent. The word is more related to Christmas than anything else.It would sadden me greatly to think that 'most people don't know what advent means or is about'. There would be no such thing as Christmas if Jesus wasn't born, even the word is derived from 'Christ', showing that it is based on Christian, not pagan belief. But yes, in some families and parts of the world, it has been tainted with Pagan belief. But what I don't understand is how it (a pagan Christmas) can even be a 'belief' to be based on because every adult knows the truth about Santa's existence, and I'm pretty sure the belief in the existence of pine trees with hanging baubles is shared by both Christian and pagan. I agree with you about Easter, although that's a different topic. I think we should keep Advent special and dedicated to Christ for his birth.

@nenielsen I think it should remain a Christmas thing not because of Christ or anything or stuff like that because a lot of eggcave is probably not Christian anyways but I mainly because if it was too widely spread out it might get kinda boring and people wouldn't want it too happen as much 😋
nenielsen • 14 December 2013 at 12:32 AM
@leonx yeah, but I wish they did something at least as good as the advent tree every month. The Find The Gobblers thing was so stupid... >.>@steinway Well, I'm sure like many words in the English vocabulary, there are multiple meanings, so we're both right. 😊 Personally, I think that if Jesus wasn't born, there would be another holiday like Christmas, but that's beside the point. The reason Christmas is both a Pegan and Christian holiday is because when Roman people (after they became Christian) tried to spread their empire to Britain (who were pagens), it was nearly impossible to do because at that time Britain was composed of many violent tribes who acted on their own. The only way Rome was able to concor Britain was by accepting tribe leaders into the Senett, and mashing Christian (celebrating Jesus's birth and saints) and Pegan holidays (celebrating the Winter Solstice and nature) together. Actually, I must correct myself: Santa Claus is really from Norwegian holidays. It was traditional for children to leave stockings out, as their parents would tell them that a fat man would come down the chimney to give them gifts. But I'm sure Christmas, and other holidays for that matter, are actually a mix of many different traditions and holidays, all combined. Peganism is a belief based on nature, and there are many holidays celebrating the coming of the seasons, and solstices. Some of these holidays have been incorporated into ours: Easter and Christmas, for example. Christmas happens within days of the winter solstice (which is on a different day every year), and Pegan people decorate and dance around a tree (christmas tree) on one of their winter holidays. Easter is probably based off of the Pegan holiday celebrating Spring (hence the collecting of eggs) and bunny/lamb/chick themes. The great thing, though, is that you get to choose what your belief is, and you can celebrate fun holidays like Christmas, even if you aren't Christian. I'm merely just spewing out some of the facts... 😋 I don't appreciate you using the word "tainted" though... I see America as a huge melting pot of different beliefs, cultures, and people, who should not be persecuted(or anyone for that matter) for the religion they choose. I guess I like diversity. 😃

@nenielsen I personally think we should do something LIKE it.Christmas: keep the Advent tree, but maybe more variety in prizes? Travels, creatures, etc.?Easter: the Big Easter Egg, and you can try to crack it every day. If you crack the Easter egg every day for the whole month, you win a special Easter creature.Halloween: the Pumpkin draw, so it's like a raffle or lottery. You can pay X amount of EC for one ticket, and there are different prizes?Valentines: Chocolate Box Exchange, where you can buy chocolate boxes (which is basically a creature, EC, and/or a travel and you "package them up") and send them to friends 😊 Gifting creatures made real!Or other stuff like that? 😊

purrclan • 7 January 2014 at 1:05 PM
@nenielsenIt's called an 'advent' tree for a reason. You know, like an Advent Calendar that counts down to Christmas? Except, thankfully, we get the whole month. Yay more days! Not to say that we shouldn't have similar things on other holidays - just that the Advent Tree is a special Christmastime thing.
nenielsen • 9 January 2014 at 1:57 AM
@purrclan I kinda went through the meaning of the word "advent" in earlier posts, but thanks for the input! 😊 If they made the advent tree year-round, they would have to change the name of course. 😉
