So I've pretty much managed to convince myself that I am dying. You see, I've had these stomach pains that would come randomly since last Thursday. They don't come every day, but they're here now and I have to study and they won't go away. Worse when I sit down.

I went to the doctor and took a urine test. He even felt around at my stomach; everything looked fine.

So annoying and so scary ☚ī¸

@metaphor What kind of pain is it? Is it cramping? Or something else? I know that pain can have many reasons, from ulcers to other things. Is it similar pain to how you would feel with a bad case of the stomach flu? Did the doctor diagnose you with anything? If not and you still have pain, I'm guessing something must be causing the pain, but it might only be a very simple reason. Let me know what kind of pain, maybe I can help a little at least.

Edit: Also, is the pain located in general around your abdomen area, or actually in you stomach?

As @aedia and @eldnew said, it could be anything. I know this doesn't sound pleasent but maybe something in your intestines or possibly even your appendix but that would be more pain to one side. You may have an ulcer or hernia in which case, people learn to live or have them removed.....but it also kinda helps to know where the pain is...but the doctor would have said something if you are going to die. You ARE NOT, they just haven't found out the real reason which is something less severe than you are thinking it is....just keep calm and maybe try going again.

Thanks, guys.

I was kind of freaking out at the time of making this thread, so here's some background info:

I thought maybe I had a UTI because the pain was in the pelvic region and I was having urination issues. But then the test came back normal. Now I just feel nauseous, but the urinary issue is still there. It could be a kidney infection.

Unfortunately, I can't go to the doctor again until Thursday. Wednesday is booked with finals.

Has there recently been a change in your diet?

I had some pretty severe stomach pains and headaches and stuffs when I decided to become a Vegetarian.

basically after I ate anything it seemed like my body was destroying itself trying to find something other than tofu.

Does any activity such as eating or lying on one side relieve the pain?

I occasionally still have these pains but I just find a position or place where I can remain until the pain subsides, sometimes laying on a flat surface helps. Other times when lying down didn't help I would just walk, walking seemed to help quite a bit aswell, maybe you could find an activity that could help ease or eliminate the pain.

I don't know if this will be any help.

@metaphor
What you could be having is a cyst, maybe?

I've had one, so have some of my siblings. Happens only to females, since it's partially connected to our menstruation cycle. What it is is a small cyst of blood that could form anywhere in the pelvic region and is usually harmless, unless it's large -- can be partially dangerous though, so maybe booking an appointment for an ultrasound. The procedure would clear any doubt on the matter, since an ultrasound can check both the intestines, the organs inside and the inner walls of your body. =)

It's very much helpful and even if the problem isn't a cyst, then it's better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I'm going to the doctor again tomorrow. The pain is still there. It comes in waves every day, starts really dull and then gets sharper. I had it bad tonight before dinner, but then I ate and felt better. That kind of seems like an ulcer to me, but I don't know for sure and I just want to get this straightened out. My biggest concern now is getting this straightened out before my next semester. Really, this pain gets debilitating. Saturday I had it nearly all day at work; I couldn't bend or anything and just wanted to sit, which doesn't work because my job requires me to be on my feet 90% of the time.

I just want to get this figured out.
