So Yeah. I'm very confused about which tablet I should go for, or should I switch to a laptop altogether. I'd love to hear opinions. The Poll has the options I'm considering, and some questions are below. I'm looking for a device that let's me view web browsers in normal mode, can download popular apps from google play, apple store, WS store, as well as programs such as GIMP.Surface RT vs. Surface 2? Are they both the same?Which one get be the best 2 in one device?Ipad? Is it a toy device, or is it meant for heavy work?

@leafpelt 1. The Surface RT has Window RT which is a stripped down verison of windows 8. The Surface 2 has Window 8 and better specs but it's more expensive. 2. The Ipad can do some things such as painting pretty well. However, if you want to do resource heavy thing or writing, go for a laptop or the Surface. All windows 8 laptop have address to WS store and there's a couple with a touchscreen.

@leafpelt Can you get Google Play apps on Apple products? o_o;; I think you can get Google+ and other Google apps in the iTunes store for Apple products, but not actual apps from the Google Play store--those tend to run (or, at least, run best) on Android systems. If the above is true (I've never tried downloading GP apps on my iTouch), then you're in for buying two products--buying a Surface (RT) will only allow you WS apps (and maybe GP? I haven't used a Surface) and not Apple apps; buying an iPad will only allow you Apple apps and not GP or WS.That said, there might be Apple variations of GP or WS apps, and vice-versa. Do research on what apps you want to get; see if they're available on the product you want. Good luck~! c:

@karamelThanks. 😃 A tablet isn't working out for me though...and I think I prefer Android items over Apple..honestly. (I'm trying to go for non-apple items...besides the IPod..)So...I might end up with a laptop. XD

@leafpelt I personally just hate tablets as I really can't see how I would type fairly quickly on them. (Sure, you may have a stylus or two quick index fingers, but how's that going to measure up to touch-typing with all ten fingers?)Also, after bothering to Google, WS has apps for iOS, Windows, /and/ Android (although the main page of their website doesn't say anything about Android...). No worries on that there, then. It's just choosing whether you want Apple apps or GP apps--or both, if you've got the money. 😋The only reason I didn't mention or recommend laptops at all was solely because APPS. You can only get WS apps on those. If you're willing to compromise on that, then I'd most definitely go for a laptop. However, if you're going to be doing lots of drawing on GIMP/other drawing programs, you'll definitely want to invest in a graphics tablet along with the laptop. The advantage of having a (big) tablet for graphic design is that it's much easier to draw. I don't know if drawing on a laptop's touchscreen is any good (haven't tried it myself, although I detest touchscreens because //FINGERPRINT MARKS//.) c:
