100 years ago...

Cadance stood there on front of her parent's gravestone, trying to hold her tears back.

-Cadance, it's time to go back to the orphanage-

A wise mare told her in a calm, soothing voice.

-N-No... I don't want to live in an orphanage. I want to stay with my parents-

Cadance refused as she started to shed tears.

- We have to go. You have nowhere to live now that your parents are gone..-

- I don't want to leave. Please...-

The mare walked closer to Cadance, trying to comfort her. A young alicorn filly, so small though strong to live without a parent. She stepped away, taking a deep breathe.

The mare raised her horn and created a portal, where everything was full of light.

-Now Cadance, I want you to go through that portal and have a happy life. You will have to leave this dimension and you will be transported to a new place, where you will be raised well.-

-But.. does that mean that I will have to leave my parents ?-

-Yes, but it is for the best.-

The mare explained. Cadance stepped in the portal, holding her breath. She never knew that something like this would happen to her. She looked at the mare one last time and flew off to the new dimension...

Present day...

After the summer sun celebration, a group of ponies tend to adventure around the forbidden forest, where the portal was created, still opened. They leaned towards the portal to see if it works and fell in...
