Okay guys, I just got a new CPU because my old one was basically trash. I probably shouldn't have started downloading stuff, but I did. I don't know how or why, but my page keeps randomly changing to an advertisement asking me to download something. This isn't a pop-up ad either. It literally redirects me to a new URL asking me to download. At first I though it was my browser legit saying it needed an update, but I smelled the fishyness when it kept going to different sites and saying different things. What should I do to make it stop?

What browser do you use?If it's Chrome or Firefox, find the 'AdBlock' plug in, it stops all adverts on websites so it should stop this while you try to find the problem.Once I know your browser I may be able to help a little bit more. 😋

@borgoreI use Google Chrome. I even purchased Defender Pro 5 to keep this new CPU from getting overridden with viruses and malware like my old one did. A lot of good that did me, huh. The page even changes randomly while I'm trying to browse Eggcave.

@plague In the top right corner there are a set of horizonal line things, where you go to clear your history, click that, then go to 'more tools' and then 'extentions'.If you see things you don't use that are 'enabled', disable them and delete them.If this doesn't work, go to 'more tools' and then 'task manager', it will look really random to you, but you see the little Chrome icon has the most 'memory', there will be other things with a similar number, click them and when the 'end process' box is available to click, click it. Just DO NOT end the GPU process, this will usually delete the bar across the bottom of your screen with icons in. 😊Hopefully these work, if they don't, I'm really sorry but I'll have no clue as to what it is.

@borgoreDang.I had five extensions listed as Enabled, not from chrome webstore, and installed from a third party so I deleted those.Hopefully it will stop now.^Notice I copied your post format xD
