I think there should be a list of recently joined newbies somewhere. That way, older users can welcome them and strike up a conversation with them. It will make them feel more welcome and I just think that it's a good idea πWhat do you guys think?
spiritkoi • 22 January 2014 at 5:08 PM
@pjbuzzy Maybe... Elaborate?
spirithawk • 22 January 2014 at 5:21 PM
@pjbuzzy I think this is a pretty good idea. I'm just wondering where they would put it.... Blogs? Forums? In the sidebar? d:
pjbuzzy • 22 January 2014 at 6:18 PM
@spiritkoi Like a list with the 50 newest accounts, so that newbies could be welcomed more properly π@spirithawk I was thinking that there could be another link either in the forum topic area or on the side bar of the main blog
spiritkoi • 22 January 2014 at 6:25 PM
@pjbuzzy Oh, then I say yes, good idea. π

@pjbuzzyI like this idea. π Except there are people who make secret sides so that they can hide unfrozen critters. So maybe the top 25 newest users? That way their account will get off the list quicker. π
rarep4nda • 22 January 2014 at 7:01 PM
@pjbuzzy awesome idea i want to give free creatures and stuff to newbies
pjbuzzy • 22 January 2014 at 7:02 PM
@spiritkoi Thank you! Glad you agree π@uni Yeah, I though about that. Maybe, when users create a side account, they have to click a button that says it is a side account, so it won't show up on the list, you know?@rarep4anda Exactly! It's hard to find newbies if you want to be generous, so this way, it is easy to fin one to gift π

@pjbuzzy I'm not too sure how I feel about this. I like the idea a lot but there is a forum area where new users announce themselves so people can welcome them and the sides don't have to post. I like the idea still though
pjbuzzy • 22 January 2014 at 7:14 PM
@jess11y I know, but many newbies don't really know how to post topics, or are unaware that the section is available. This way, it will be much easier for them to "announce" themselves, and people can welcome them better.Thank you for the feed back though π@rarep4nda I don't think you got notified when I pinged you, I had to edit the post and ping you after. Check a few posts up, my reply is there π
jess11y • 22 January 2014 at 7:19 PM
@pjbuzzy Good point, I really didn't think about that. And also people never really use the tutorials in a lot of games which is where they let you know to post the introduction.
pjbuzzy • 22 January 2014 at 7:20 PM
@jess11y Exactly π Thanks a bunch for the feedback π
jess11y • 22 January 2014 at 7:21 PM
@pjbuzzy No problem! I hope that your idea gets made π I love welcoming users when I can
pjbuzzy • 22 January 2014 at 7:22 PM
@jess11y Thanks π And I love welcoming newbies as well, especially telling them that they have to reply on other people's wall, not their own x3

@pjbuzzyYeah, That'll work. π And maybe an option to keep off the list when creating. (For the newbies who want no attention and sides) πΈ
pjbuzzy • 23 January 2014 at 6:42 AM
@uni yep π thanks for the feedback
ahgirltc • 23 January 2014 at 7:37 AM
That's a great idea! They might quit if they dont really find any fun things (eg. chatting/forum games) to do in the game βΉοΈ@pjbuzzy
pjbuzzy • 23 January 2014 at 2:47 PM
@ahgirltc Exactly! πThey need proper welcomes to feel included πΈ Thanks a lot for your opinion π

@pjbuzzy I think this is a great idea--sort of like a user livepulse (as opposed to our current forum livepulse)!Just saying, though, that the 'Getting Started' banner is at the top of each page until the newbie either closes it (just by URL-fiddling) or does all the required things. One of them is to post in the Welcomes & Introductions forum. π Not meant to be a point /opposed/ to this suggestion; I just noticed your point about "... many newbies don't really know how to post topics, or are unaware that the section is available".
pjbuzzy • 23 January 2014 at 3:02 PM
@karamel Oh yes, I forgot about that. Many older users don't really go into that section very often (including myself, I'm ashamed xD) and I think that if there was a "newbie livepulse" then more people would notice π
