I found something curious in the site's source...

The source surrounding the "community" dropdown menu, there are several entries hidden within HTML comment tags:

-New Species
-Poetry Contest
-Fan Art Gallery
-Weekly Editorial

See for yourself.

Interesting sounding, doesn't it? Not sure if this is already well known or what. I'd assume that was put there so it could be found, otherwise it wouldn't need to be there at all. They presently like to nothing. I like where this is going.

Yeah, Ian did an interview a few years back with Egg Cavern (now shut down ☹️) where he said the poetry contest was something he was working on. I don't remember off the top of my head about the others - he mentioned others, but I'm not sure if they're the same ones - and I can't look that up anymore.
This is either a remnant of that (he seems to have abandoned it...) or an attempt to actually do it after eventually remembering it.

Ah, it closed? Pretty terrible.

I remember reading that interview too, though I don't remember that portion at all.

No reason not add such things, correct? I've wondered why there's not much to do here outside of click - click - click - done. Some competitions could spruce things up.

Still wondering if those entries are recent or leftover then, if anybody else knows.

I'm assuming it's just something left over in the code from back then; it's really hard to clean up code after the fact, and sometimes you don't want to spend the time to do so, so maybe that's why those things are in the source code? 😊
