Second gen is where the artist "breeds" two creatures together and draws and egg with the attributes of both! I looooooove that idea.
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 6:42 PM
@takochuYou mean like on CS?I suggested this a while back, but the topic died. Glad to see that great minds think alike 😊
takochu • 23 March 2014 at 6:43 PM
@purrclan Like on CS!!! Do you play?
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 6:49 PM
@takochuUsed to...My interest gradually faded.
takochu • 23 March 2014 at 7:03 PM
@purrclan I still play, but much less.
whispers • 23 March 2014 at 7:06 PM
@takochu This would be pretty cool, I admit. But, with all the creatures we have and all the different combinations they would create, it would be ton of extra work for the artists.
takochu • 23 March 2014 at 7:07 PM
@whispers Egg Cave could hire new artists, and only 1-3 second gen eggs would be released at a time.
whispers • 23 March 2014 at 7:11 PM
@takochu I know, but I really don't know if they have the extra money to do so after paying current artists and to pay to keep the site up.And people are also going to want new "original" creatures out as well. Honestly, all I'm saying that although this would be rad, it's just a lot of extra work to do so.
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 7:42 PM
@takochu I can't imaginge that but it does sound cool!I do notice that in some egg descirpstions creatures lays they lay eggs. So why isn't that a feature on egg cave?
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 7:51 PM
@windchillYou see, creatures in Ark do lay eggs. However, it's generally advised to get your pets spayed and neutered, so most tame ones are now sterile. Those who aren't nearly always sneak off somewhere for anywhere from a week to a year (depending on the species) to lay their eggs and possibly to raise their children. (Again, the latter depends on the species.)Most eggs are laid by wild creatures. Some species are very relaxed with their eggs; these are generally the ones whose eggs appear in the Cave. Other species will donate hundreds at a time, for a one-time symbol of their goodwill towards the humans residing in Ark. (The eggs they donate are often the ones who don't hatch on their own, instead needing human assistance.)(This is my theory, anyway.)
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 7:58 PM
@purrclan There are many theorys but my guess is if they do start laying eggs is when they can find food for themsleves or when the're "immortal".As they are full grown adults. (My theory)
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 8:18 PM
@windchillWell obviously. Babies can't lay eggs. 😋BUT since creatures can become immortal/get their own food when owned by peoples, it only makes sense that there's something preventing them from laying. Clearly, they are being spayed and neutered because Egg Cave users are responsible people. 😋
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 8:23 PM
@purrclan How do you spay or neuter animals or creatures if they aren't exactly "animals" yet? We're talking about egg here. Hence the name "Egg Cave".*pokes at URL, top of page and topic*
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 8:25 PM
@windchillNot as an egg. When the creatures hatch, you take them to the veterinarian (the building with the red plus on it) and get them fixed. They do it for free because they're nice like that.
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 8:29 PM
@purrclan Theroys...I guess is they do it when your offline then. -_-
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 8:53 PM
@windchillIt's a theory that makes sense 😋And no, if they do it when you're offline, wouldn't the egg appear in your cove?
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 8:57 PM
@purrclan Theorys... -_-I can't say that it does make sence! The're guesses ok! >o<
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 9:10 PM
@windchillTheories can make sense without being right. Like, I could say that my friend would be annoyed if I dumped a ton of pepper on her food, because many people would be annoyed by that, and also I'm doing something to her food without asking or anything. That would make sense, right?Except actually she loves huge amounts of pepper, so she likes her food even more now. My theory was wrong because there was something I didn't know about her, but it made sense to someone who didn't know that.
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 9:20 PM
@purrclan Pepper theory not egg theory. -_-But I from MY point of veiw simply asuming a buliding is a vet office, creature getting spaded and nutered, and wild animals laying eggs is simply a vage guess, a guess seems silly to ME.An extra point that I have for MYSELF is I'm studing to be a high-degree, uncomon vet, at the best vet universtiy in Canada.
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 10:05 PM
@windchill1) I was making an analogy.2) The vet building, I admit, came from my imagination. If the 'fixing' did happen, it would have to happen somewhere, not spontaneously, or else nothing would be able to breed and everything would die out. Maybe 'pet' food has special infertility chemicals? Who knows?3) We know that creatures owned by users do not breed. Spaying/neutering prevents breeding. It is a very possible hypothesis. Not necessarily true, but it is a method that could work. As opposed to, say, poking all the creatures on the nose, which has nothing to do with breeding capacity.4) All animals (and at least some plants) on Ark lay eggs. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, fish, supernatural creatures, animate inanimate objects, what-have-you. This is not a hypothesis.5) AWESOME FOR YOU! That's really cool. You do that!
windchill • 23 March 2014 at 10:14 PM
@purrclan 1) okay2)I admit that the building has no fucntion but if it came from your imagination I'm not going to mess with that3)Yes I've know that for years.4) My puzzling question to that is why do some creatures seem like mammals and still have eggs? But again this is the Internet.5) Is that sarcazam?
purrclan • 23 March 2014 at 11:07 PM
@windchill4) I have no idea. Let's just go with internet doesn't always make sense.5) NO IT IS NOT. NO SARCASM INTENDED. NONE. Sometimes emotions do not come across well on the Internet xP
windchill • 24 March 2014 at 10:02 PM
@purrclan Well glad that's over the topic only had our comments!
purrclan • 24 March 2014 at 10:49 PM
@windchillYeah xDAaaaanyway like the idea!...OMG THE THIEF SHOP SHOULD SELL "ILLEGALLY" CROSSBRED CREATURES. Like interspecies breeding is officially seen as 'bad' or something.Idea combination FTW 😃
liza200aa • 25 March 2014 at 6:50 PM
@takochuThat sounds pretty cool. But only creatures with similar species should be bred.So there'd be nothing stupid like Irel+Unipeg or whatever. But something more like Unipeg+Calla (Pegasus) or Irel+Quinnit (Squirrel) is okay.
takochu • 25 March 2014 at 8:37 PM
@liza200aa Ya.
eva_ • 30 March 2014 at 2:37 PM
@takochuGreat idea! Also, I suggest you could breed with another player's creatures too, not just with your own.
