Auction bug

i recently bidded on an irel in the creature auctions and waited on its page for the last 10 seconds (i also refreshed the page during this time) when i had refreshed the page there was still 5 seconds remaining and so far no one had outbid me i waited until the timer had reached o seconds (still no one had outbid me) to find out that someone had bidded after the time the auction had closed
does anyone have an explanation for this/has it happened to you?

I think someone outbid you in the last 5 seconds. I usually bid in the last 4-3 seconds. And the page you're on doesn't reload, so you missed it.
