Is it pointless to be even in a guild?

Not making random topics on chit chat,but actually a guild room and a link on the users profile saying (underneath the status maybe?) In the Guild [Insert guild name here & Its Link] Then it travels to that forum/room and other people may join.
I dont know,I am just sorta sick that there is no proof that you are in a guild or not.
But I am thinking to make a guild like a prom,to donate more EC or something to get greater things,like fundraising in high school to get a nice dinner,a good place in prom.
Also I am thinking about how this works is that the master approves of the members joining and you may have to pay 50CC to create a guild,or 50 million EC.
