Like. I don't wanna do it if it's dangerous - but I wanna try.

How would I //try// to change it from my home, not downloading something?

Or, something safe download-able

I don't know OTL
I don't know where to start looking to see if I can do it - google is not helping me atm

*~*~*~*

After looking into my computer, it says I have a dynamic IP. Now what? XD

I've got the luxury of 2 IP's, but only because I have my own wi-fi + some unsecured wi-fi that my wireless adapter finds when it scans for networks...

@Cafe: Are you using a little wireless USB adapter, by any chance?

Erm

Is it the thing that plugs into the brain and connects to our wifi, then yes.

Mmm~~ I've read somewhere that it's risky unless if yours already does that naturally. I don't know myself though.

Best if you just go to the library and get a "second try" if you know what I mean.

@Cafe / @Mochi: I think you're talking about the cord from the router to the computer, but to clear up the confusion, a USB adapter looks like this (there are different variations, but they all follow similar designs)...

@pipkitten

That's not ours

Ours says "Netgear USB adapter" [It's attached to a cord] and it's somehow hooked up to our wifi? XD

@Cafe: Yay! 😃 Now I can try to help you~

1 - See the little toolbar at the bottom of the screen? Go to the far right and find the little computer icon that has ))'s coming from it.

2 - Right click it!

3 - Click "View Available Wireless Networks"

Got this so far? 😉

@Cafe: All-righty. 😊 After doing those 3 steps, look at what networks the adapter is picking up. If there are more than just yours, do any of them say "Unsecured wireless network" under their names?

It's not giving anything xD
Our internet comes from the netgear that's attached to our wifi. the computer only shows if we have a connection [Weird I know.]

I guess I can't do it

Ehh. I'll live - though I'm a tad dissapointed

By changing computers. That's the easiest way. But changing IP addresses is playing kinda dirty, don't you think?

Changing your IP isn't fair,
but how I do it is that I go on my phone and turn off the internet then turn it back on.
And it changes.
If you unplug your computer for a little while it should change.
But I don't know if that work or not.
