An Idea That May Work?

I was reading a post on here that had a lot of pros and cons to it. (What idea doesn’t? XD) And I had to agree with both parties on the subject but it did give an idea that may work for both parties. Mind you, that I am a newbie and this idea could have been suggest before and/or could have been done already on this site.

Anyways, I read posts that some people would like to have re-release of retired pets so they could have a chance of owning them but at the same time, some of the users disagree with it because it would devalue their rarity, which would be true.

So, this gave me an idea that maybe there should a site special event/contest that happens every year (or every 6 months) that 3-5 retired pets (1 of each pet) that these pets could be given out as prizes. Mind you, the active users would have to work for these pets (some kind of point system) and the top 3-5 users (1 pet to each user) would be the ones to win these pet. Every year (or every 6 months) there would be a different set of retired pets, so the pets can keep their rarity and users can still get a chance at owning the harder to get pets. Keep in mind that they're 200+ retired pets, each year would be 3-5 different retired pets and CC pets should be excluded.

This is just an idea and I’m not sure how the system would completely work but it would gave both parties some piece of mind. Not everyone will agree with it but I thought it was worth a shot with suggesting it.

I would love to hear other people's opinion on this. There are pros and cons with this idea and hearing people's opinion will give insights on the pros and cons.

Anyway.
It might be a good idea, but there are some things that need to be fixed.
