Story: In Medieval times there once was an evil king who ruled his people with force and tyranny. The people had no hope of overthrowing the king's horrible rule. One day, a mage came to one of the villages and proposed an idea to them."Lend me your strongest fighter, and together we will bring down that man's tyranny," he had said, "I will need his protection in order to cast my spells." The people had thought him crazy, but had no other choice but to believe him in hopes that the king's rule would truly end. Only one man stepped forward, a former knight who had left after he realized his lord's vileness."If it will help these people then I'll join you," the knight had spoke, " but I will warn you that if we just waltz over there declaring a fight, we will meet our ends very quickly."The mage smiled, "Oh I have a plan around that, you needn't worry."The mage's plan had been simple, yet quite possibly the most complicated thing to accomplish. The binding of two souls together in order to increase the strength and power of both. The binding of their souls would make it so that they each knew immediately what the other was planning and needed leaving no secrets between them, creating the most powerful combination ever seen. After a long battle, both men stood victorious over the ruler and vanquished him, bringing an era of peace to the land. From these two, the races known as Magi and Knights were born and for a while, they kept their symbiotic relationship as equals, but eventually the Magi grew arrogant. It was their powers that had to be used to start the bonding in the first place, so why did they have to appear equal to those who were clearly beneath them? They twisted the bonding spell in such a way that the only ones bound by them were the Knights to the Magi in order to create perfectly obedient slaves.A rift grew between the two peoples who were once as close as kin, and a hatred emerged from within the Knights as they were beginning to be thought of as nothing more than animals. One sect of the Magi didn't agree with the new treatment of those they considered to be friends and equal and hid themselves away along with the Knights that lived around them and continued to practice the olden ways and would teach their descendants the true way of binding were two souls are merged and separated equally into both parties involved.Plot: Present day, the two races are still in conflict. Most of the Knights live together in gangs with the strongest fighter as the boss in order to protect themselves from the New Order of Magi who believe in the forcing of bonds. The Old Sect of Magi have separated over the centuries and now have bases all over the world in hopes of combating the New Sect's arrogance and proving an equal bond is the true bond. The Races:Humans- These are people who have neither the fighting of the Knights nor the magical capabilities of the Magi. Most don't really care one way or another how the other two races act towards each other, and those that disagree with the Knights' treatment tend to keep that to themselves so that they don't find themselves on the wrong side of a Mage's spell. The Knights (free)- They have relatively the same enhanced fighting abilities that the original Knight had. There is a distinct hatred among them for any and all Magi for having their friends forcefully taken against their wills and used to fight against them. Very few know of the Old Sect, and those that do usually believe that they are merely saying things as a trap to lure in the free Knights. The Knights (Old Sect)- The only difference between the free and the Old Sect ones is that they're bonded and are stronger due to their bond. They work in sync with their Mage and neither is superior to the other. The Knights (New Sect)- They have been drained of any free will that they originally had and are only used and thought of as tools. They too are stronger than their free friends, but no where near as significantly as the Old Sect. The Magi (Old Sect)- They are very gentle and think of everyone as an equal, human and Knight alike. The Magi and the Knights of the Old Sect are paired up from the time they are young to become friends and eventually bonded. They can only have one bonded Knight since it's a trade off of half of each other's souls. The Magi (New Sect)- They are arrogant and see themselves as the betters of everyone, Knights, humans, and the Old Sect as well. They have twisted the bonding spell to such a degree that they can have multiple Knights bonded to them, but have no true attachment to them and use them like puppets. They view getting the most strong-willed and stubborn Knights to bow before them as the ultimate sport and a sign of power.Character sign-up:Name:Age: (Usually late teens and up)Gender:Race: (human, Magi, Knight)Status: (If human, none is needed; Magi: Old Sect or New; Knights: free, Old Sect, or New Sect?)Bonded: (If yes, give bonded's name)Physical Description: (Pictures are fine)History: (optional)Mine:Name: Aaron EricksonAge: 19Gender: MaleRace: KnightStatus: Free/ Old SectBonded: Jake ArkPhysical Description: 5'9", short messy black hair, muscular build, emerald green eyes, always scowls. When Aaron came and stopped his men so easily, Jake knew exactly who he'd like as his bonded. Aaron, like the others wouldn't listen to what he was saying and just bandaged him up before sending him off, warning him to never come back. Jake, never one to give up when he was determined came back a few days later and saw Aaron trying to fight several Magi and their mindless Knights while his men got away. Jake then ran towards them and cast a shield between Aaron and the others and offered to make a partial bond between them in order to fend the others off. He had every intention of undoing the spell after everything was said and done, however, he found out that the reverse spell he was going to use didn't exist. He is now currently attempting to appease Aaron while also trying to create a spell to reverse their bond. This is the first time I've done a roleplay on here, so please bear with me if something seems wrong or strange. ^^
