I found a post by @leafdapple769 which was a suggestion about breeding. So many people thought it would be tough, that they closed their topic. I have a suggestion: Sort them into tiers. There should be these tiers, each with their own CSP item:Available, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Star Rarity. Each item is more expensive than the last. Want to breed a Spookcat by using it and a Doovoo, both in Ultra Rare? It'll cost you a lot of CC to get the item. However, some can't be bred, and there is a hybrid method, but it's tough to do: you have to pick the Tier Hybrid Item and cash in. They're more expensive than the Breeding items. Only some creatures can be hybridded. Sparktail and Whoon might be hybridable, but not Whoon and Foo. Breeding is where a female and male creature that aren't eggs create an egg of the female species. Hybridding is where compatible species create hybrid offspring. Sparkwhale for Whoon and Sparktail, for example, but others, like Doovoo and Olimpt, can't hybrid. The breeding items and hybrid items are single use. I hope this sounds plausible, and it won't result in overcrowding of rare creatures or hybrids.

@eveadelekittyThere are some creature-breeding suggestions I've read that I like better than this one; there are some that aren't as good. Some are more reasonable with a lot of structure and limitations; some are along the lines of "We should get to breed creatures together!" with no consideration of repercussions. Overall, I imagine it's been suggested at least a hundred times, and yet breeding has yet to exist. You see, breeding is a way to expand populations and give newer users a chance. But breeding is a way to destabilize creature values and seriously damage the Egg Cave economy. But what if a species goes extinct, or only exists in abandoned accounts? But what if people breed a few hundred Onnies? And so on.Personally, I'm in favor of creature breeding (with plenty of caveats); realistically, I doubt it will happen. In terms of hybridization, drawing each individual combination would create a huge workload for the site artists. Especially since there's no reason you couldn't breed a hybrid with a parent species, or a hybrid with a third species, or a hybrid with a completely different hybrid. And then repeat with that offspring. How would you design a creature that was 1/2 Spookcat, 1/4 Trisk, 1/8 Gingerlion, 1/16 Olimpt, and 1/16 Luckuar? Because that could totally happen.Actually, that would probably look cool. But there would be so many different things to draw...

@eveadelekitty Doesn`t these seem a bit complicated? :/
eveadelekitty • 6 August 2014 at 9:59 AM
@leafdapple769 Well, it would have a list when you looked at it. The hybrids would only be made with some creatures. There's an item that changes the gender of a creature, so why not?
purrclan • 6 August 2014 at 11:23 AM
@eveadelekittyFor one thing, I don't see how gender-switching is relevant to breeding. For another, what about how many combinations the artists would have to draw? What about whether hybrids could breed? If so, where would you draw the line?
spirithawk • 6 August 2014 at 11:37 AM
@eveadelekitty This seems complicated. So much work for the eggcave artists and as purrclan said, it could damage the eggcave economy. Also it's been suggested a hundred times and hasn't been made, so I don't really think it's going to happen.
leafdapple769 • 6 August 2014 at 1:51 PM
I agree with @spirithawk, it`s VERY complicated. Though, I hope breeding will happen eventually, this just seems like too much work for the whole Egg Cave Staff. @_black3333_@lovepuppies123@applefudge@epicthings451

However if the hybridding is too hard, a male and a female of compatible species, when given the right item, MIGHT work to make an egg. This won't overpopulate Spookcats and Doovoo, because every time you make a Doovoo, you need to pay a huge amount of CC. I can see this happening, but maybe not hybridding.

@eveadelekitty 😊 I like this, so people would not be able to breed the same breed of creature, right?

Breeding would be too complicated for the platform of this game. I know, it'd be cool, but it's just not for Eggcave I don't think, sadly.

Breeding will plunge down rarity. If people can breed Nyms together...This isn't a good idea.
kittena • 5 September 2014 at 8:02 PM
Perhaps rare or retired etc. creatures cannot be bred or the very rare and special are once in a blue moon breedable by paying CC.Only Extremely common species can be released for breeding. Still gives tons of unique possibilities without ruining the rarity of a species.Breeding License could cost $50,000-$100,000 EC(makes it possible for everyone to breed at least once in their egg cave time because saving takes a lot of time lol)Breeding License expires after 1 month.Only 2-3 breeding's per month per Licenced user.Once a creature has been bred it is not available for breeding again.Just some ideas

...egg cave doesnt have any animation.at all.what would make you think they could do this?
kittena • 6 September 2014 at 4:41 PM
@rainbowrocks hmm not sure who said anything about animation?I would just be two creatures (of the same species because breeding two different breeds would be wayyy too many outcomes, so basically breed two of the same species and only the colors change in the offspring...)
jazzyleia • 6 September 2014 at 4:56 PM
Even if this would happen, those who couldnt get CC are out of luck and those who can spend hundreds and get the CC would be hoarders and be able to do everything. I don't see this happening nor do I really want it to happen.
rainbowrocks • 6 September 2014 at 10:23 PM
@kittena animation is just a simple thing.
