Leila's Library and Books?

Sorry, I've been an Egg Cave member for awhile, went on a hiatus, and I'm back. They've added so many new things!

I've come across "Leila's Library" and was wondering what are the books? Do they benefit a creature or increase the level? I've checked the FAQs and can't seem to find anything on it.

The books are part of your pet's Item Collection. Yes there is the chance that using one on your pet can increase a stat but that is just a chance. It doesn't happen all the time. Other than it being added to your item collection, there is really no benefit for your pet.
