I know I am more than likely going to get cut down by a few people, but...x.x heh. And also, no idea if it is possible to code correctly.

My suggestion is, to add a snipe guard to both Creature/Item auctions. When a creature or item is bid one with less than a minute to go before the auction closes, there would be 5 to 10 minutes added to the length of the auction itself.

The *good* thing about something like this being in effect, would be say you bid for an auction, and then someone bids right at the *very* last few seconds to win the auction. Basically you never even had time to go back to see if you wanted to add another bid because even the notification that you were outbid doesn't show up until the auction itself has already closed. (This specially gets annoying when you only get out bid like...50-100EC or so. Heck, Ive been outbid by only 10EC before on a snipe bid.)

Another good thing about this being in place, is for the player who put up the auction themselves. Wouldn't you just love for there to be a bidding war over some creature you put up? More EC for you!

I just think this would be a lot more fair towards every user in general. Yes, it will keep some of you from getting in that last bid to grab the creature you want, but at least to me, its very unfair when you are unable to be counter bid because of the last second bid going through.

I would like this, but instead of being 5-10 minutes added, only about 1 minute or so is added. This is actually able to be coded, something like when someone presses this button, +1 minute if value is under 1 minute.

It's a good thought, but some may disagree

I understand this wont be a welcome thing for everyone, but was thinking along the lines of fairness to those of us who arent on super-computers, and cant keep refreshing a auction over and over again to grab that snipe bid. =P

Auctions are not set up to be fair. Whoever puts the last and highest bid in is the winner. Actually you get the most and highest bids in the last seconds so placing a snipe guard would not add to the benefit of those selling. Every one has a chance to bid in that final 1 second. Can't be more fair then that.

It says on every auction that the timer is: "Time Left approximate". So saying that bidding on that final second is fair, actually inst in my opinion. Attempting to get that last second bid is a hit and miss at most if your machine doesn't refresh fast enough. That, and bidding a high bid at the very last second gives absolutely no one else a chance if they wish to also bid if they wish to.

And I will agree that you do get the most and highest bids in the last few seconds of an auction, and that is why adding a few minutes to that auction every time a close bid is put, giving others a chance to bid as well, actually would benefit the person selling. Two or three people really wanting a creature, trying to outbid one another on that last minute? Yeah, I'd definitely rather have that.

Not being a "poor sport" as it was put. This is simply my opinion on the manner. But, I will agree that putting a limit on how many auctions one person can win a day would also be a nice addition.

I figured people would disagree with this, which is mainly why I listed a poll, but also figured there would also be a few that might like this idea, either or, everything is just opinion!

Yes, but it also tells you he exact time it closes, so it's easy enough to time yourself. And if you're that desperate for a creature, bid high at the last second. That's what I did to get my Gryp yesterday. I wouldn't have been able to get it any other way. And no, I didn't get it just because it's 'valuable'. It's actually been on my wishlist for a while now.

This is also simulating real life auctions in a sense. More time isn't added to those, so it wouldn't make sense to do it on here either

Adding more time wouldn't help. You'll just get some user with a ton of ec to bid an amount that nobody can beat, when you may have had a chance to snipe it for yourself when they weren't expecting it.

I think limiting the number of auctions people can win per day, say 3 or 5, would help a ton. I know some users get almost all the rare creatures that are put into auctions because they have a ton of ec. Limiting it would allow more users to benefit from the auctions and it would also force people to be more choosey with what they bid on.
