To be honest, I signed only cause I'm against the non-sense animal cruelty and torture, not cause I want to impose Asian people to stop eating dogs...

Yeah, after all also jellifishes / sharks and deers are eaten in some other places. But still, it's horrible to torture animals in that way ... there's a limit of how doing things. >.<
It's like with hunt ... I could agree in hunting for getting food, when it's needed and without letting the animal suffer ... but I could never approve hunting for fun or for fur.

I've eat deers and lots of other animals, and I don't get why people get so shocked about that like it's legit for pigs, cows and chickens to become meat and others not.
BUT these animals were killed fast and than became meat, not surely they have to suffer all the things that petition said about those poor dogs D:
The problem for lots of poor Asian places it's they can't even choose, or you eat everything you find or you die.... And that's how we end up to these extreme situations. ;w;

I had to argue with my sister for the same reason, because she'd say she wouldn't want to eat a little cute bunny, and scolded me for doing so ... then she didn't know how to reply when I said chickens are little and cute too.
Even animals kill for eating, that's the cicle of nature ... but we have consciousness, at least we should make sure to not let those animals to be tortured or to suffer ... and we should be grateful, as well.

And I'm aware of that situation ... but I also think in the future it should be possible to change the situation in better ... or at least, I hope "humanity" will do so. I'm just very sick to see people torturing and treating animal badly, like they're items. They're lives, they can feel the pain like us as well ... how I said, there are ways and ways to do something. ç__ç

Yep, that's why I signed, I don't care what people eat in the world, but there's a huge gap between find some food and torture and abuse animals.

@dafni I am totally with you. Like say the Eskimos, they kill whales to eat ( I think like one every once in a while. ) because they need to, and I can deal with that, because they have to survive.

But killing and torturing animals is not the way to do things. It's sick, and has to be stopped.

Totally agree and was admittedly hoping someone would say it. If a culture wants to raise and eat an animal humanely, I see no harm in it, no matter how "cute" the creature in question may be. The problem comes when they treat the animals with cruelty, something no creature deserves, cute or not. I'd advocate the same thing for chickens and cows and whatever else.

I love my dog and personally would never eat a dog, and I can't say I know many other people who would either. But people feel the same way about cows, pigs, chickens, etc. If people want to eat something and are willing to obtain it and slaughter it humanely and without harming anyone else, then I can't say I'd stop them. What they eat is their own business. Something that would be deviant in one culture may very well be the norm in another.

Personally, I like dogs very much. My dad has two of the fluffiest, cutest creatures in the world and I cannot understand why anyone would want to hurt them.

@wereage Signed. It's just horrible that animals are needlessly tortured for so long in such horrible conditions. I am okay with animals being used for food when they live a good life and are 'put down' humanely- but not like this.
