o Into

With the advancement of medicine in the 21th and 22st century the average life expectancy of a human has increased dramatically. Human population is rising rapidly and the only factors which slow this process are natural disasters and wars. However, the expansion into outer space has kept this problem under control and provided enough room for the majority of the race. The colonization of other planets has not yet been achieved but a large number of space stations and vessels are scattered through the solar system and imitate the surface of Earth, housing it's excess populace.

DR-3061 (Revert 61) is one of the largest space stations of it's kind with nearly 2000 square kilometers spread over it's two city levels and the capacity to support nearly 3 million people. Minor stations DR-2021 and DR-2022 are permanently linked to her through two of her ports and further add to her estimated value and grandeur. The Revert is well known, luxurious and governed by futuristic systems.

However, since the early months of the year 2254, due to an error in one of the most influential medical companies, the station has been engulfed in chaos. Things have escalated to such a degree that a war ship of the Integrated Army of Earth was sent out with the sole task to calm the situation and remove all threats.

A substance commonly used by the military to gradually increase the natural abilities of it's soldiers was being introduced into medicine as an experimental cure for a hereditary disease. It is still uncertain who is at fault for the incident but a number of patients received an overdose of the substance. With the presence of other medication in their systems it was impossible to predict the outcome of the mistake but in the attempt to avoid problems the entire thing was overlooked and the patients were never even informed of it.

The test treatment was a success despite this and all the people who participated were sent to their homes but approximately one week later complaints began to stack up. A few of the subjects were noticing strange symptoms, changes in their bodies and there were some who were even concerned with their mental health. The reported complications were looked into and the doctors came to the conclusion that the substance was enhancing and also editing aspects of the patients, similar to how it strengthened soldiers. It was agreed on that all traces of the substance would be removed from the patients and that they would be further operated on and observed in order to restore them to their original state.

However before any of this was even set into motion a young man who had been affected put his newfound abilities to use and began a raid through the station with a number of other patients following his example. The police attempted to arrest them but with no luck. Because of this a small group of soldiers was sent out to restore order.

As part of a trap for the dangerous subjects explosives were set up. Though the area was cleared so no civilians would be hurt, it was impossible to avoid damaging a part of the stations structure. This threat caused the stations artificial intelligence, Nsia, to interrupt and attempt to stop the mission. To remove the nuisance , many of Nsia's features were temporarily disabled. What the army didn't know though was that this action was regarded by the system as a hack and set off a bigger alarm. Nsia lost all power over the station and it's devices and was replaced by a backup AI, Quintilian, who is better defended. Quintilian analyzed the sequence of events which had caused it's predecessor to shut down and came to the conclusion that both the patients and the army personnel are hazardous for the station and it's inhabitants. With this realization, the AI closed itself up to outer command and became hostile to the army men and all persons with signs of being exposed to the substance.


o Setting

-Revert 61

The Revert consists of 4 levels. It's surface level is nearly identical to a city on Earth and even has a sky above its buildings which dissipates during the night to reveal the beauty of space and a view of humanities home planet. The second, inner level, is characterized by less spectacular architecture and associated with the lower classes of the stations society. It does not look as natural and all that can be seen above it is the plate on which the surface level rests. It has become more liked since the start of the chaos since it is less affected. One level beneath it are the crucial systems which keep the station going from the shadows, such as major points in the electrical power system, the water supply... The enormous storage of the station is also located here. The fourth level is fully occupied by the maintenance of the station and is the core of it's futuristic electronic systems. Both the third and forth level consist only of large chambers, hallways and passages.
The Revert also has 4 major ports. Two of these are occupied by the two smaller stations and another one is filled by the military starship when necessary. It's one remaining port is kept free so that it can take in supplies (though there are minor ports for this on the third level also) and to keep it open to transport.

-DR-2021 and DR-2022

The two twin stations mirror each other in nearly every aspect and only the buildings that can be found in them are different. Both are composed of two levels, a surface one and one for maintenance and key systems in case they are separated from Revert. Their combined capacity is less than that of the main station.

-Military ship

The vessel which acts as headquarters for all military personnel on the station contains a number of special purpose chambers, small rooms for the soldiers and other army employees, storage for weapons and other...
At the moment of it's departure from Earth it had around 100 000 men on board.

o Groups

-Civilians
Possible character types: human
Through the recent events they have been instructed by the police and the military. They are the normal citizens of the station and have mostly been concerned with their safety through the chaos. Many of them are interested in leaving to another location but that is difficult due to the strict clearance one needs and the time required before a living space is open anywhere else.

-Army
Possible character types: human, enhanced
The highest ranked soldier on scene is a major-general. The task and reason for the armies presence is the capture of all patients who have been exposed to the substance. With special equipment they are able to single out these people. They fight to ensure the safety of the civilians and restore order.

-Patients
Possible character types: enhanced
1.Righteous or neutral: They are interested either in escaping the station and all the other groups who are after them or want to stick around in order to help set things right. They do not use their abilities to deliberately cause harm.
2.Destructive: For some reason, either justified or not they use their power in a way that causes havoc.

The Revert and the DR-2021 and DR-2022 have some of the most sophisticated technology orchestrating everything from elevators and doors to regulating the atmosphere and temperature. These systems are largely self sustained and have a powerful artificial intelligence as their central element. This digital personality often identifies itself as the station itself and this is largely true as the station would be destroyed without it's functions. It sees everything that happens in front of the cameras which are scattered through all levels and receives other forms of information through various other sensors. A large number of automats and robots serve it's will and it is able to send it's thought into the minds of a group of sentient droids who have a choice to act in accordance or ignore them entirely.

All AI make choices based on logical analysis, however a personality which was programed into them has a big influence also.
The AI who acted as the core of the stations since their creation was Nsia. He was cautious and more likely to choose the safest option when a problem occurred and this trait, though fully appropriate for his position, was the reason to his downfall. When communicating with humans through audio devices he often used a deep, calm male voice but when displaying himself on a screen he would only present his logo.
Rumors exist in the programmer community of Revert that he was not fully shut down and that he is still present on the second (inner) level of the station but represents himself with a different voice and an actual human image. It is also agreed on in all of the rumors that he his abilities have been greatly reduced.
Unlike Nsia, Quintilian, the current commanding AI of the station is less careful with his actions but is also hyper protective. He is harmless to the civilians living on board the station and is incapable of intentionally killing a human being but can still be hostile to anyone who is a potential threat or who's intentions are not clear. He has a set human image and voice of a young man which he represents himself with.
Since the army caused the switch in the system he has been on high alert and functioning abnormally in effort to protect innocents and restrain and send away soldiers and humans with enhanced abilities.

They may work in many different fields and develop various skills ( They can be part of station maintenance, doctors and medics working for the organization which made the error while using the substance, be a soldier of any rank in the army or have any other job which is available in an urban setting)

-Enhanced
Humans who have gained advanced abilities as a result of being in contact with the substance. One or rarely more of their human characteristics are developed to a superhuman degree. However some unexpected power have appeared in the past which did not have an obvious original human characteristic.
If they are not with the army then they cannot be part of any field once their change has been found out. Their skill and power are arranged into stages:
-Stage 1 (*able to use only small features of the ability **can use stronger features of the ability but with little skill)
-Stage 2 (*some of the stronger features of the ability can be used skillfully **all the features of the ability can be used but with little skill)
-Stage 3 (the ability can be used fully and with skill)
Because the patients have received their abilities only recently they can only be Stage 1 (or in rare cases Stage 2*)

! The same ability may be used by more than one person. The characters possessing it may use it in completely different ways though.
