Egg Cave (the books)

Week one- How did I get here again

I suddenly realized my eyes were open. I was staring at a bare branch... wait what?! I jerked up and looked around. For some reason I was in a forest... and it was winter! I suddenly realized how cold I was and I rocked my body forward so I could stand without touching the snow. After brushing myself off I looked around again. I was utterly lost so I started walking, I saw a small patch of ground without snow and a strange looking rock. As I got closer I realized that it wasn't a rock but it looked more like an egg. One side was covered in ice and the other was hot enough to melt the snow. I sat near the warm side and looked around again.
A little ways away was a cave that looked sheltered from the wind. I gently picked up the egg and walked over to it. Halfway there I tripped over something and fell into the snow. Looking to see what tripped me I found another egg that was white with black bumps. I wondered how I had missed it as I picked it up and looked at it, as I held it it slowly changed color. The whit part of the egg was now the color of my skin. After staring for a few seconds I realized the cave would be a better place to think so I continued to the cave.
Just inside the mouth was a small pile of eggs. these eggs didn't look very warm. I grabbed as many as I could and moved a little further back. After a settled the eggs is my lap with the warm one on top a sat back against the cave wall. The heat washed over me and I found my eyelids drooping, I soon fell asleep.
