@victoria1Wish I could lucid dream... Even though I've never had one, I had a dream inside a dream where I knew I was dreaming, if that makes any sense. And then I woke up inside my dream and thought I was awake... It was pretty confusing XD

@victoria1 Lucid dreaming sounds a bit scary, but I've always wanted to be able to do it lol. The only type of odd dreaming or sleeping I get to is sleeping paralysis, which is completely horrifying.@moonburst Lol I understand, I think. I've never had that, but I'd be so confused if that was to happen to me.

@moonburst I know the feeling. Since I started wanting to have one, ive had a lot of those dreams. 😃 @fakeworld Ive never expirienced sleep paralysis. It sounds scary....
paranoiac • 14 May 2015 at 6:34 AM
@victoria1 I had lucid dreams 2 or 3 times. It's usually when I have nice dreams and I think that is too good to be true I realize I'm dreaming XDYou can do "reality checks" to realize if you're dreaming or not. For example look at the clock, turn away and then look at it again. If the time changes - you're dreaming. I've also had sleep paralysis and it's scary as heck D: I used to have it a lot when I was younger, not so much anymore. My friend told me to bite your cheek when you're experiencing it and you'll wake up. I never tried it tho.

I found out you can purposely have a lucid dream (it really works too!) All you have to do is close your eyes, but stay awake. At first your body will know your awake and try to make you itch or open your eyes, but don't move. After you fall asleep you will be able to control your dream.

@paranoiac Thanks for the tips! And what does actually happen when your in sleep paralysis?@hay7199 Yeah i've tried that before but I keep on moving or have to scratch my nose or something 😊
paranoiac • 15 May 2015 at 2:44 AM
@victoria1 When you have sleep paralysis your body is asleep, but your mind is awake. Because of that you can't move, but you can still see, hear and feel everything normally. It's scary because you're still technically asleep and you can have hallucinations, which are usually not nice, and you can't move and do anything about it. So you just kinda lay there feeling helpless.

@paranoiac But can you close your eyes when in sleep paralysis?
paranoiac • 15 May 2015 at 2:50 AM
@victoria1 You can, but you'll still be able to hear sounds and feel everything. If you only have visual hallucinations it's a good solution.

@paranoiac That would be really scary. But thanks for the info.
moonburst • 15 May 2015 at 9:06 PM
@paranoiac @victoria1I tried the entire 'looking at your hands every five minutes' thing, but I ended up surfing the internet before I fell asleep and forgot ^^;

@Victoria1 @Paranoiac @Moonburst @Fakeworld @Hay7199Personally, I've never had a lucid dream but I always dream very vividly 😋I've had sleep paralysis once! It totally freaked me out. It was just a man hovering over me silently, and I could close my eyes and turn my head until it was over, but oh gosh it was terrifying! 😱
fakeworld • 15 May 2015 at 10:51 PM
@polaroid I want to experience lucid dreaming. I've never had or felt that anything was hovering over or watching me while in the state of sleeping paralysis, and I can only move my fingers (little things) lol. You're so lucky you get to move your head.

@moonburst @fakeworld @paranoiac @hay7199 @polaroid I know a great website all dedicated to lucid dreaming. Personally, this was the best lucid dreaming website when I started trying to lucid dream. Here's the link: http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/

@victoria1 HAH. I've had my username before! 😃 /dream within a dream. XD I swear I thought I "woke" up for school, looked at my alarm clock and it said I was late for school. 😃 It was one of those old fashioned alarm clocks (that I don't have) like squarish with red numbers. Shocked I woke up and immediately checked my alarm. //I was late for school// XD Geh. I guess the dream was trying to tell me something. XD I think I had sleep paralysis too, but never lucid dreaming which would be pretty cool. 😋

@dream-within-a-dream I've never had that kind of dream before but I think I had a lucid dream about a month ago or something. I can't be sure it was actually a lucid dream but i'll still tell you what it's about. I walked into home bathroom that is my actual bathroom in real life. (My bathroom is a common dream sign that repeats in my dreams). Then I turned to the big mirror on the wall. I had two heads. (At that point I think I relised that I was lucid dreaming). I nearly woke myself up from the dream because I was jumping around and screaming in exitement. I then tried to change how my face looked like. Next, I turned myself towards the little mirror in front of the sink on the wall. I was all of a sudden a teenage boy. The End.It was a pretty amazing experience. But i'm still not sure if it was a lucid dream. What do you think?

@victoria1 LOL. 😃 ❤️ That must've been super uber interesting! 😃 ❤️ XD Heh. Still giggling while typing this. XD That's pretty cool dude. o.o ❤️ Never had one like that. XD

@dream-within-a-dream It really was amazing. I wish I have another one sometime soon. 😊 😃
paranoiac • 16 May 2015 at 3:36 AM
@moonburst Well, you don't have to look at them every five minutes, but if you look at them often it'll become something you do subconsciously and you'll do it in your dreams to. Same thing is with looking at the clock to see if the time changes or reading a sentence few times to see if the words change 😸

Lucid dreams for me are somewhat common for me. It's just I can't control the dream very well :/ I can actually wake myself up if i'm having a"uncomfortable dream". I'm actually getting really good at it.

Hey this looks like a cool topic. I've tried having lucid dreams but it never works. I've done reality checks, MILD, VILD, etc and nothing works. (Over the period of 9 months) I kinda gave up a while ago but if anyone has advice let me know! 😊
ajinkura • 1 July 2015 at 7:52 AM
Of course lucid dreaming is possible. I herad about that waking up every x hours, walk for 15 minutes and go to sleep again will help getting into a lucid dream. (Yes, exactly, the dreams where you can chose yourself what you're doing/seeing and so on.)Also there are several "tests" called reality test. For example counting your fingers, to hold one's nose and try breathing,... These tests you should do 3 times a day, or more often, so you're doing it automatically. Then, while you're asleep, you try making those in your dreams... if you got it, you will be able to lead your dreams in a direction you want them to go.You can fly, use magic, or whatever. ^^
