egg name available but says it's not

I am trying to name one of my eggs, and the name is available when I do a creature name search, yet when I try to rename my creature, an error message pops up saying the name is taken. Is it taken and just not updated in the search somehow?

Edit: Weird. I was doing a search for the name in all lowercase - doesn't show up as taken. But if I make the first letter capital, it shows up. Never mind then.

make sure there is no space after a name. That happens to me sometimes when I copy paste a name. and I don't know if there are any symbols in that aren't allowed.
