Wolves Of The Beyond ~Sign Up~ (Semi-Literate)

Once, a long time ago, before the great rule of King Hoole... The packs of the beyond made a decree at the Gadderheal (a meeting of all the packs to discuss grave matters). The decree stated that any pup born malformed or with any malfunctions in the body is to be left for dead at a tummfraw, but may only die of natural disasters, and under no circumstances may the pup be touched unless it's being brought to the tummfraw by the Obea. The Obea is a female wolf who is barren and cannot have pups, the only wolf who is permitted to touch the pup. These pups are referred to as a Malcadh, and if the pup somehow survives, it may be permitted to join the pack, but only as the lowest ranking member of he pack. This rank is known as a "Gnaw Wolf" because for one reason or another, they can carve beautifully on bones, something no ordinary wolf could do, it is they who have kept records of the history and decree's of the packs. Some gnaw wolves could be permitted to join The Watch of The Sacred Volcano's. The McDuncans where originally chosen to be the only pack to submit gnaw wolves to be considered for The Watch. But when King Coryn plucked the great Ember of Hoole out of the volcano called H'rathgar. So it was told that the wolves of The Watch's deformaties cleared, crooked throats straightened and lame legs grew strong, that became a legend, its also said that the same happened when Soren became king after the death of Coryn. Now, a new generation of Malcadh's have come, each oddly born into a single pack. The McDuncans.
How will these Malcadh's react to being the lowest of the low? Will they attempt to challenge the order? Will some get into The Watch? Will their deformaties get in the way? Will some end up lone wolves?

Rules:


~ No Mary Sue's/Gary Stu's

~ Don't use another persons character without their permission.

~ Gnaw Wolves are lowest of the low, they are expected to be submissive to even the pups.

~ If you become a Lone Wolf, your allowed to mate with a NPC or another Malcadh to became a Loner as well.

~ If you become a Loner you can have pups, it's your decision if they are Malcadh's or Regular wolves.

~ If everyone becomes a Loner they can start their own pack.

~ You cannot get into a fight with a higher ranking wolf if you are in the pack, that usually means you have to go on a pain staking journey to all the packs and tell them what you've done and be punished by each Chieftain of the packs.


Postures: (Dominant/Submissive)


Tail Postures:


~Tail pointed straight up usually means they are a Chieftain or Alpha, and to stay back, they have more power than you.

~Tail pointed straight out means they are of high rank and are telling you to stand off.

~Tail relaxed and pointed to the ground means they are calm and not threatening.

~Tail in between legs is a show of respect and fear, saying your no threat.

~Tail wagging is a gesture of excitement or an increase of energy.


Eye Postures:


~Staring straight in the eyes is a show of dominance and commanding respect.

~Showing the whites of your eyes is a submissive show of respect and is a dramatic version of averting your eyes.

~Staring straight into each others eyes is a show of challenge, especially if ears and tails are erect.


Body Postures:


~Usually walking around with tail erect along with the ears and chest out is reserved usually for the alpha.

~Placing your paws on the front of another wolves shoulders and pushing them onto their stomach is the most blatant way of showing dominance and the most aggressive.

~Putting your neck across another wolves is also a show of dominance.

~Rolling over on your back and twisting your neck to dig your muzzle into the ground is the most blatant way of showing submission, showing them the most vulnerable part of your body.

~Crawling toward a higher ranking wolf and averting your gaze is the usual way to ask a question or try to get food.


Vocalizations:


~When pups howl its inexperienced and often lasts a little longer than the adults.

~Growling signals another wolf to go in a submissive stance if they're a higher rank.

~A pack howl usually goes on at a rally or a Gaddergludder (Gnaw wolves, under no circumstances are allowed to howl unless signalling something no regular wolf has noticed yet.)

~Barking is rare, and usually used as an alarm signal when a wolf senses danger.

~Lone howl is usually used to mourn over the death of another or after a Drumlyn (a memorial made of bones to signal its death.

~Whines and Whimpers usually indicate submission to another wolf which is most often used by Gnaw Wolves.


Wolf Curse Words:


~Beslubbering: A minor curse that is usually used when a wolf is slightly frustrated.

~Cag-Mag: A word used for both "Crazy" and "Tainted Meat" tainted meat usually means meat that causes a wolf to mad.

~Canker-livered: Usually used to say someone is scared.

~Mhuic: Meaning "Crow Scat" (poop)

~Moldwarp: THE MOST OFFENSIVE TERM THERE IS.


Words It Would Be Helpful To Know:


~Byrrgis: A long, flowing group of wolves, mostly a hunting formation. It is also a traveling formation when wolves are exploring new territory.

~By-lang: The wolf word for "deeply away". This is when a pregnant she-wolf escapes the clan afraid of birthing a malcadh.

~Cave Of Souls: The wolf heaven, where the souls of dead wolves go if they are good.

~Dim World: The term used for... Heck.

~Crait: A term referring to a wolf or wolves who are no longer considered true clan wolves; wolves who are declared crait are then banished from the clan.

~Drumlyn: The memorial of a dead animal, usually made of their bones.

~Free Runner: The term for a gnaw wolf who was born clanless in the wild and left to die by its mother. They are allowed to participate in the gaddergnaw.

~Gaddergnaw: (n.) A ceremonial game that happens about every several years or so where gnaw wolves of different clans compete to become part of the Sacred Watch. Normally has one winner, occasionally, the Gaddergnaw takes two.

~Lochinvyrr: The code of honor between hunter and prey. The hunter would gaze into the dying prey's eyes, sink into a submissive posture, know the life wasn't a waste, and let the prey know that its life will nourish and sustain you.

~Lupus: The first wolf, the wolf spirit who lives in the Cave of Souls, and helps good wolves reach the cave.

~Malcadh: Means "cursed one"; a wolf who was born with a deformity and taken by the Obea to a tummfraw to die.

~Obea: The rankless, sterile, scentless, she-wolf responsible for seeking malcadhs and taking them to a tummfraw to die.

~Paw-fast: For two wolves to be bound as mates, much like being married.

~Sark: Old Wolf word for witch.

~Skreeleen: The lead howler(s) of a pack; skreeleens are the wolves selected to read the ceilidh fyre and to announce the arrival of nearby caribou herds and/or other available game in the Beyond.

~Slaan Leat: A journey of farewell and peace in which winners of the gaddergnaw are required to seek out their tummfraws before they are allowed into the Watch.

~Sweeper: The rank of a gnaw wolf in a byrrgis. The task is to look for the scat and/or urine of the prey to make sure it is strong and healthy.

Looks: Pinkish-brownish fur, with white underbelly, paws, and ears. Light blue eyes, and an unusual pink nose.
History (how you survived, how you made it back etc.) She has grown up normally, and has made lots of friends, sometimes out of her species. Her mother went by-lang, and birthed a Malcadh. She was sent away, and Akita still doesn`t know if her brother is alive or not.

Other: Akita doesn`t like ranks, and thinks every wolf should be considered equal.

@hay7199 I love Wolves of the Beyond. Haven't been able to read Spirit Wolf though, can't find it anywhere.
Are we using Dog-Years, Human Years or can we use Months? I've listed all three just in case.
How many Characters can we make? Because I'd make a few males if we can.

Age: 24 Moons, 21 In Dog Years, 2 in Human years.

Personality: She's reserved, and it is hard for her to even
Looks: Silver wolf with a brown muzzle, paws, tail and ears. Her eyes are left being ice-blue and the right being dark brown. She's rather small but well muscled and was born without a left ear.
History: Merperyan was a single pup, born to a mother who went bylang when pregnant hoping to keep her pup safe. Although her mother was found shortly after birth and like every wolf to bear unpure blood was forced out of the pack along with her mate while Merperyan was left to die. Surprisingly Merperyan survived her tummfraw, a spot frequented by owls who hunted by sound, due to her inability to convey any sound. She made it back with some difficulty about six months after her abandonment.

History: When Kana was a month old she was playing in the forest ,jumping in leaf piles and found a pup in one of them he was tired and hungry.She looked in his eyes and decided to help him no idea why but she felt compelled to help.She went back and pulled some meat off the deer the other just brought back and slipped passed the others ,she feed the meat to the pup who said his name was kai when she asked where his family was, he stood up showed her his tail the others told her about malcadhs (malcadhs correct?)but this was the first time she met one she knew that he would have to leave if he was discovered and she wanted him to stay so she kept him hidden until someone found them and kai was driven out she plead for him to stay but they did not listen so she left and ran after him

History: His tail was not so crooked at first but as soon as the others notice he was chased out. He wandered for a week before falling asleep in a leaf pile when he opened his eyes he saw a white wolf pup a first he thought she was an angel then she ran off. He waited a while before she came back with meat in her teeth she give it to him, sat down and waited for him to finish when he was done she said her name was kana she asked about his family and why he was alone he thought carefully about it before standing up and showing her his tail she looked at it told him that he had to hide for her pack mates else they would drive him out, for a while it work until they were found and kai was driven out when he looked back he saw kana running after him
