Obliteration

Screams filled the air as he ran. He didn't know who was screaming. He only knew he had to get away. Faster, faster, he urged himself. He didn't dare look, at the destruction behind him, the war zones and bloodshed. He just had to keep going, until he was safe from it all. Wait. What was that. That scream just now, sounded louder, closer. He started to turn, fear filling his head as he did, and he stopped running when he saw...

Nothing. He woke up, startled, gripping the edge of the blanket. "Another dream." He sighed tiredly, rubbing his eyes. They were getting more and more recent. He stood up, slipping on some slippers as he moved across the cold, dark room. He fumbled around for the switch. He turned on the light and squinted, the bright neon lamps blinding his eyes. He quickly dimmed them down to a comfortable level, and headed to the kitchen. He turned on the telly as he made himself some breakfast. He stared blankly at the screen. More political troubles. The militarized Canada annexing parts of the Old States. The 10 Continental embassy arguing. More and more biological and nuclear warfare. The world was in shambles. Groaning at the state of it all, he changed the channel. 2126. The year of war they were calling it. We're on the brink of the actual Third World War. He wonder if he would live pass 30 at this point. He set down his coffee, staring outside the window at the bright red sky. He wonder what he would do today.

kana looked at the tv "if war doesn't break out in the next year it will be a miracle" she sighed "you know you shouldn't say thing like that" leon interjected

kana was surprisingly mature for her age she had to grow up fast cause when she was 5 her parents were killed in some riot then her brothers were forced to go to war she has not seen them since, she doesn't know if they are dead or not, with no family left she was taken in by her neighbors who were always kind to her but they treated her horribly, so she ran away, cold, sick and lonely she was found by leon, he took her in let her stay with him it was then that she decided she wouldn't trust anyone but leon.

leon lost his parents and siblings, he was a lot like kana that was part of the reason he ask her to stay the other part was it would be lonely if he was the only one there,they lived in an old abandoned bomb shelter that no one them knew about it but them

Atsuto, or as her friends called her, Zuzu, woke up in a cold sweat, That was the third time this week she had a nightmare that she couldn't remember when she woke up. All Zuzu knew was that whatever nightmare she was having, it was terrifying. "Sigh, I thought I was done having nightmares when I was seven." Muttered Zuzu under her breath. Zuzu looked out her window, it was early morning, she missed the sound of the birds chirping in the morning, Zuzu hadn't heard them since she was sixteen.

Zuzu got out of bed and took a shower, now and days you had to take a quick shower to conserve as much water as possible. After drying off she had breakfast, a blueberry muffin with vanilla flavored almond milk. Afterwards she turned on the TV, she wasn't to keen on politics but she could tell when the world was on the brink of World War III. The world had been dancing on the line between peace and war for around three years now and Atsuto wanted to be prepared, she had saved up money and installed a fallout shelter. She had a ladder in the living room that led to it.
