THE IDEA:
If you block a user, they can no longer view your cove. The only way that they could VIEW/CLICK/FEED a creature would be to go to a specific link from an outside source (e.g. - the Click Exchange, other click exchanges, or outside posts).

THE REASON:
I've tried to compromise with people looking for more 🪙 by making a Feeding list where I post (currently) over 200 creatures. This contains:
* creatures that I'm trying to evolve
* evolved creatures that I'm trying to immortalize
* creatures that are UFT that I don't mind evolving/immortalizing
* fully evolved & immortalized creatures waiting to be transferred to my retired account

I even keep the list sorted and even break it down into two smaller lists ("Evolving" and "Immortalizing") for people limiting their work. I even have a retired account ( @theskytownstables ) where anybody can feed ANYTHING. Still, there are people that not only don't follow this, they blatantly state that they refuse to follow it. By being able to prevent them from doing this, we can fight back against jerks out there who won't compromise.

This is a great idea.
I personally wouldn't benefit from it as I don't care who feeds my creatures XD But I can see how it would be very useful to people like you.
Sorry people don't listen to your wishes and feed against your will! :<

I agree with this. As I asked someone very nicely not to feed off my list and they continue to do so. So reminded them 2 other times. Was told they can do whatever they please, even tho it's common courtesy to not do so. Then their status states to hide creatures but they are feeding all my coves. So status is pointless for them to make. I blocked them now cause I don't deal with unreasonable people.

I have reminded others and they have no problem with understanding my goal while they can still feed my list and make some of their EC goals.

Edit to add:

I see they are doing it to others as well ☹️

I know exactly about whom, you're speaking. They're the very person that put me over the edge.

As much as it sucks that there are people out there who feed your don't feed creatures making it so that anyone who tries can't feed them kind of ruins the purpose of the cash shop essence of litsdnats. I understand not everyone can afford to buy CC (I can't myself) but when you're trying to keep creatures frozen the free way, you have to be willing to pay the price, which is that sometimes people will still end up feeding those creatures.

I'm not saying I'm against the idea, but just that it doesn't seem very wise on Ian's part to implement it. If this was in place, people could (not saying they would) abuse the system to ensure their eggs never grow for certain.

~Also, I don't know who you guys are talking about, but it's making me want to put some of my eggs in a do-not-feed list to attract this feeder and get everyday feeds for all my eggs xD

I don't understand why people would blatantly refuse to not feed a creature. I will admit to accidentally feeding creatures that the owner didn't want fed, but I always feel terrible and apologize immediately. It's quite simple just to skip over it. The time you spend arguing with someone about you can spend feeding coves of people who want feeds. Lol logic.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I do think this is a fine idea. 😊

@moopana

The thing is, not everyone can buy freezes the minute the creature reaches the desired stage--even people who buy a lot of CC and freeze a lot. I know that there have been times a creature would evolve and I would have to wait a couple months to get the CC for the freeze. Fortunately, my cove doesn't seem to attract many stray feeders, so I can often get to it in time. I don't see why someone shouldn't respect someone's wish to keep a creature from evolving until they can get/afford the freeze. I guess I can kind of see how it could be used as a loophole to avoid having to pay for freezing creatures ever. Even so, I never just leave a creature I want frozen unfrozen and hope it doesn't evolve. Eventually, I get to it. And I don't think blocking everyone just to avoid one or two creatures evolving is feasible for anyone--which is ultimately what it would come down to, if someone was really desperate. And I don't think most people are that desperate. They just want people to respect their wishes until they can get the freeze. 😋

@moopana
The problem is that it's just common courtesy. When someone takes the time and effort to make a list for visitors to feed, it's disrespectful to feed beyond that. To be fair to visitors, I maximize the number creatures AND make a retired account. I understand the frustration of bothering to visit an account only to be allowed to feed three out of 400 eggs, so I just don't bother with those at all (unless they use the exchange).

If people are just going to be jerks, they should be able to be punished without always bothering the staff. We can already ban them from trades, mail, and posts. We should also be able to block them from us entirely. Once enough people have banned them, they'll either leave Egg Cave for good or learn a harsh lesson. Either way, Egg Cave will be a better place.

Just like the real world, if you don't like someone, you shouldn't be forced to let them harass you and make your time here miserable. Which is worse for Egg Cave: losing a few blocked trolls or lose many good players that were just trying to enjoy themselves? Even if a few people get blocked for making a mistake the blockers can still unblock them later on.

@megadash

Kind of figured that 😊

*******

Freezes will always be bought it's the most needed item. Some of us would like to not have to pay so much at a time for them. Espeically when we are cutting back on a lot of things and spending money on a gaming site is one of them. I hate trading for CC or Freezes have always been that way.

Edited to add:
As a reminder EC is FREE ( just using your time)while Freezes are not. Just to put things in better perspective 😊

@megadash

Lol, I actually know who you're talking about😋 So I put all my eggs not wanting to be hatched in a separate secret account that blatantly says "DO NOT FEED" on it. Literally, there's nothing else on my wall, profile, or status but that. I even made a picture on my profile with characters to make that even more obvious (I'll admit, it was fun to make). However, that account gets fed as well >:-(

So I'm completely for this idea. Yeah you could just buy some freezes, which I do, but some I can't get to at the time. And if you're making it as obvious as I do, something like that should be implemented.

I'm sorry to hear of your trouble and I thank you for having confidence in me.

I like this suggestion very much for that reason. I had a nuisance feeder who kept on feeding and thus evolving my unfrozen immortal pets against my wishes. I had specifically asked her not to continue and explained why. She continued. This happened to such an extent that I got a new cove and a new name to hide from her. My former cove was foxette22.

Your idea would have stopped this problem in its tracks.
Good luck! 😊

@megadash

Thanks for this idea. We've implemented it. Users who you have blocked can no longer view your creature profiles, which means that they can no longer feed your creatures.
