Would you help a Family/School in need?

So i have made the decision to be a family's Angel during Christmas, and possibly even before then. I will help out a family that can't afford Christmas presents, not because i HAVE to, but because i WANT to. My mom works for a School where some of the kids are too poor to even have a coat or backpack.

if you know anyone like that, i promise, the look of joy on that child's face when you give them their BRAND-NEW school supplies/coat/backpack/etc, is far, FAR, greater than any present you could ever get.

I did a $200 Bottle Drive in high school for a Detroit Elementary/Middle School, and when i handed all that money over, the gift i got back (mother-of-pearl earrings) wasn't even worth the smiles on the kids' faces when they got their new School Supplies.

I wanted to ask if anyone, ANYONE, has ever been an Angel to someone in need, and if so, would they do it again?

Well yeah! I do this stuff every year. Spend most of my weekends during the holidays packaging boxes for families. So yes, I'd do it anytime! 😊 Anyone asks for help doing anything, I'm there! Plus it's not the holidays without the spirit of giving. For me, it's just not Christmas time unless you're out there trying to make someone happy. ^^

@leafpoolz same here! i watched the ORIGINAL How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the cartoon one), and started crying when the Grinch realized it's the SPIRIT of Christmas that makes it what it is. without Love and Joy at Christmastime, it's not Christmas. the year i watched that movie (2-3 yrs ago) i tore up my Christmas list and wrote one that said "I want nothing except the love of my family".

Then this year i told my mom i wanted to do the Angel Tree at our local Church. going to try to get my sister to help.

Heh 😊 That's how I was raised. It's about what you do for others during the holidays that makes it the holidays. It's about the spirit, the atmosphere, not what you get. (Can't say I understood that as a greedy little child, had to get a little bit older xD)

My favorite yearly thing is gift hunting. I find out exactly what to get my friends. It's like giving a gift is a challenge. A challenge to show the person how well you know them. It doesn't have to be expensive necessarily, just something they specifically would love.

I think it's almost time to start collecting and organizing donations at my church. (we have to start really early so shoe boxes will be sorted and shipped in time for christmas 😋)

Yeah, sorting out stuff for younger kids is always easier 😊 They like fairly simple things. Older ones are tougher, they start to like more "refined things" 😋

@leafpoolz i just LOVE little kids. always have. when i'm at the park, and i see a little one (as i call them), i ask the parent if i can play with their child. once, i had a little girl on a tricycle who didn't want to leave ME, even when her Mom said she had to. she was having too much fun.

I guess I never really did like kids. Flaw of mine ^^" Just... Had a hard time understanding them. They always creeped me out a bit. All the strange questions they asked. When I'm around a kid I just don't know what to do with them. 😋 Eh, just not a kid person I guess? I'm always as nice to them as I can be, I mean, they're just kids, jeez. 😋 But yeah, my sister really likes kids a lot as well. I just let her handle them 😊
