I'm thinking about purchasing a MacBook, but I wanted to know if they were worth the price? Like is it a good investment? In what aspects are they better than Windows if you know?

I have a Macbook I got in 2010 and it's still running well. Never had any problems with it, although a lot slower now. I like the look of the Mac OS a lot more than Windows, but price-wise I'm not sure if getting an Apple is worth it. You can get a Windows with the same specs as an Apple for much cheaper. But I don't know if a Windows laptop will last as long- I've only ever owned Apples. Windows durability varies though, depending on the brand. I've heard bad things about HP and Gateway, but good things about Lenovo.People argue all the time whether Windows or Mac is better, I personally think it's just a preference. It also depends on what you want to do. If you're doing video/music editing or design, Mac is generally preferred. If you're only using it for essays and Facebook, then I recommend saving money and get a good Windows laptop. If you're using it for gaming, DEFINITELY get Windows. If you decide on Windows, I highly recommend looking up reviews before buying.

@smartie2742 Oh thank you! I have a HP now and I have had so many problems with it, and it has only been a year and a few months.

@FakeworldTo add on to what @Smartie2742 is saying (which is very accurate, nice job dude!), I must add this too -I'm not sure if this is the same for laptops, because I've only used desktops, but Apple does not allow virus protectors on their computers. I have heard from Tech Support at the Apple store that the downloadable virus and malware protectors actually slow the Macs down. Also, Apple has it's own good virus protection system already implanted in the Mac. As a user of a Mac desktop, everything's great so far and it's fast, but I haven't really downloaded anything on here either. So yes..personal preference, really. And always look at customer reviews and do your research 😊--To add: I noticed you said you have a HP computer and I, personally, would suggest switching it out for a Mac or Windows ASAP. I have used those laptops, provided by my school, once or twice and I find their slowness extremely annoying.

@polaroid Thank you for the addon! I never really had problems with slowness or anything, it was more like the battery, motherboard, etc. It seems like HP has the exterior and the appearance, but the interior and the machine itself sucks. I'm going to definitely try the Mac.
