Using this pause, I jumped out of the way and let Squirtle faint. Then I gave him a Revive plus a Super Potion and restored him to full health. I jumped up again, ready to continue battling.

Chrono was rather irritated with BC's persistence. Viktoria came over and used Blizzard on BC and Squirtle.

Chrono:
"Embargo!"

BC and Squirtle were both unable to use items. Chrono was so bored he decided to stop the storm. He did so.

Chrono:
"I've stopped that little storm. Now get out of here. Now."

"Okay, fine." I snapped. "Why in Arceus did you just randomly attack me anyway? And that wasn't a 'little storm'. That was a Thunderous-sized storm."

Viktoria sighed in relief that the storm was finally over.

Squirtle glanced at Absol distrustfully.

Viktoria was still locked in her room, acting like a shut-in.

"I believe that would be the Warlord of Nixtorm. Her name's Viktoria. She and Nixtorm's Warriors use Ice-types. She's one of the most powerful Warlords in the region, so don't attack her recklessly."

I paused. "Whoa, a Warlord? No wonder why she was so good."
I grinned sheepishly. "Yeah, I'm also known for being reckless. Sorry for just tromping into Yaksha like that earlier."

His garden looked much cooler than I expected. I stood there admiring it. I wished that I had a garden.

"For all the water in Fontaine there's not a single plant," I muttered. "Except for lilies and algae, of course."

Viktoria suddenly tromped into the dining room and slammed open the door. She glared at Chrono, actually quite angry for no logical reason, or so it seemed. Chrono saw her and stood up.

Chrono:
"Why, what an unexpected welcome."

Viktoria kicked Chrono's Absol away before looking back at Chrono.

Viktoria:
"Well, if you're wondering, I'm here to take over your kingdom...with a battle!"

Chrono quickly gave his Absol a Sitrus Berry and looked back at Viktoria.

Chrono:
"I'll defend Yaksha. It's my kingdom, and the Warriors here are my people. I'll protect them to the very end."

My eyes travelled from Chrono to Viktoria, back and forth, back and forth. I decided to stick with Chrono. I did't especially like usurpers, unless the original ruler was really evil. Chrono didn't seem evil, just perpetually bored.
