Feeding creatures.

Hello. I just got finished feeding some creatures in some of my friends' coves, and I had a question about the foods that occasionally appear after a few feedings. Are these foods for the one feeding the creatures to collect? Or are they what the creatures are eating?

That's just what the creatures are eating, they're shown so you know you've fed, especially if you use the shortcut feeding method.
