When you are replying to someone on the forums, you should ping them. To ping someone, type an @ followed by their username (for example @positivevibes ). You can only ping up to five people on one post.
One common mistake of new players is that they'll ping and reply to people using their own wall. Pinging only works on forums and the blog, and to reply to someone's comment you'll have to go to their wall.
