Violet jumped at the sound of a voice. She recoiled to the corner of the dungeon, gripping onto her shoes.
Slowly, but carefully, she peeked from behind the shadows.
To her astonishment, the door, that had been closed for 600 years, was open.

She dashed out and made herself visible.
"Yes! Here! Me!" She shrieked, waving her hands in the air.
She watched in amazement, thinking this was almost too good to be true.

Lifting the character limit rule. Expect more Cogs from me.

Cal approached the one who just made themselves visible.
"Name's Cal. I wonder how you suddenly appeared. It's unlikely to see a sentient living being inside this dungeon, especially when it's layout always changes." Cal then approached closer.
"Do you need help?"

I noticed a voice ringing out of nowhere. Curious to find out who the person was, I decided to look at the last room we entered and noticed a girl.
"Who is she? Was she here before...?" I didn't notice the girl until now. It was unusual.

Accepted. I said I would add in more Cogs in the RP, but that won't happen until a long time later. You'll just have to get used to Vi-Vi being the lonely pringle for a while.
and that joke wasnt on purpose or anything lolololol
~~~~
Arc went on ahead with the rest of the group, and made it first to a room, with nothing but a simple chest in it, and the gate where they have went from, and another open gate across.
"Heh, this should be easy. Just gotta carefully open it..."
Suddenly, as Arc opened the treasure chest, both gates closed tight, as two large snakes appeared out of nowhere.
"Dang it! Why do these things happen to me all the time?!" They got out their trusty revolver, and started attacking one of the snakes.
Eventually, the snake quickly slithered towards Arc, and hit the Toon with its tail.
"Ack!" Arc yelped out, as they got knocked back pretty far. "Is that all you got, you limbless pile of trash?"
~~
I heard the noise of gates crashing down. What also came into my attention is that Arc is gone as well.
"Cal, stay there. I need to find Arc; they could be anywhere!"
I then ran out of the room, and made it towards a hallway. The passages split up into three ways in front of me, and I was unsure about where should I be going.
"Arc! Can you hear me?" I yelled out. Hopefully the walls weren't soundproof...
~~
Arc noticed a familiar Cog's voice. They were about to respond, but the snake was about to attack them once more.
"Get over here quickly, and bring a sledgehammer! I got a problem with two giant snakes!"
They quickly jumped over the attacks, and kicked the snake's head.
~~
I followed Arc's voice. It was the path down the left side, and it turns right. I got a little confused as to where I was going, with the turns and all.
Eventually I made it to a giant rotting wooden door. There was no handles or anything to get it.
"Wait," I said, "how the heck am I supposed to get in? Do you really want me to kick the door open?!" I got really upset that Arc thinks they can fight those dungeon monsters all by themselves. If they got hurt fighting spiders, then they would be killed fighting the sniants giant snakes.
"Why did you even go to this room by yourself, anyways?!" I started to scold Arc. "You should've wakted for us instead of going on ahead!"
"But treasure!" Arc replied, and finished off one snake, as the other slithered towards them, about to headbutt it.
"Oh, I see what's going on," I replied, "you just want to the treasure! You just can't help yourself, can you?!" I began to start snapping at them. "You think you can get away with stealing age-old loot! Well, I'm here, and I caught the perpetrator! Lock them up, Lawbots! Arc Sillysprocket is guilty for theft!" I got really upset at Arc, and proceeded to try and kick the door down.
"You're lucky I don't hate you! If I did, you'd experience many forms of sadness, including, but not limited to, raining golf balls, glitter in your eyes, and much worse!"
I was unable to kick the door down, despite it's wooden and aged appearance.
"What's this door made out of; metal?! Arc, I'm unable to bust this stupid door open, so you're going to have to deal with whatever you're fighting! I'll think of another way!" I got really concerned. What if Arc died inside the dungeon? I'd rather not think about those sick, twisted ideas.
"Hurry up! I'm turning into snake food by this thing!" Arc tried to do one kick to the head, but the snake did some kind of windmill attack, knocking them towards the door, causing a large thump. "I'm going to die if you don't help!"
"Arc!" I yelped at the shaking door. "You're not going to die because of a large worm! You're better than that, Sillysprocket!" The only thing I can do right now is encourage Arc. I can't do anything else with that stupid door in the way.
~~~~
Cal looked away at Vi-Vi, and back to the girl.
"Sorry, that was a friend. Anyways, you're a ghost, right? How did you get here? This dungeon is randomly generated, but it baffles me how you ended up here."
She thought about something for a second, and spoke once more.
"Hey," Cal said, "how's about joining us? We could really like another person to join us in our adventure across the universes."
~~~~
Vi-Vi and Arc's relationship towards each other is leaning towards hate, isn't it? I wonder if their friendship will start to break apart over one measly dungeon?
Violet ran out.
"Yes. Yes. I've been here for 600 years. I need help. I need to get out of here."
It was funny how she had prepared for what she would say when she got rescued so many times, yet when it came to it, she blurted whatever she thought of.
"Please take me with you. I don't know where to go. I can't go anywhere. Please."
"Well," Cal said, "the only way out is to finish this dungeon. That means you're coming with us on this journey to finish it." They floated until they saw a junction.
"Ah," she sighed. "They must be anywhere."
She heard some loud voices from ahead. Curious to know what's occuring, Cal followed the voice and headed left.
"Vi-Vi? Arc? What's going on?" She asked.
I looked back in relief, glad to see that Cal was here.
"Cal! Thank goodness you're here! I need your help; Arc is stuck in this room, and they're inching closer to the grave!" I exclaimed. "I can't kick this wooden door down, nor phase through! You're half ghost, right? I hope you can phase through the door, because we need to do that now!" I requested. Cal nodded, as she did what she was told.
"Arc, I'm over here. I got you covered."
Cal's temperature lowered, as the room started to become freezing. She touched the door, and used her scythe to slice it open while the cold is lingering. Her scythe became a ring again, and Cal froze the snake entirely.
"Now, Vi-Vi!"
I grinned, and dashed towards the frozen snake, doing one more kick towards an abnormally large monster, and shatter the snake into shards.
"Thanks for saving Arc, Cal..." I mumbled, and noticed that another door opened. It lead to a long hallway, and what appears to be a large light at the end. "But we can't waste pur breath. This dungeon, although short, was literally the hardest I've experienced, and this is just my first time..."
Arc dashed towards the hallway, wanting to be the first to get the treasure.
"Race ya, Vivs!" They interjected.
"Not on my watch!" I dashed after them so they won't get killed.
"As if I'd let you bite the dust!" They grabbed a big magnet, and attracted me towards them, causing me to zip through the long hallway!
"Arc, you little...!" After that, my voice glitched out, causing what appeared to be earsplitting chirps, an 8-bit rendition of a song, and dial-up sounds. It was probably the effects of the magnet, which causes a Cog to be disabled for a while, and unable to speak properly.
Did this tabby even try to think before they used a magnet to lure me closer to the trap? Grr...
Violet followed silently behind as she saw the person named Cal did some pretty fancy tricks for a person named Vi-vi to save someone called Arc. It was pretty confusing.
The only thing Violet did, however, was follow closely, to make sure she wouldn't get lost again.
She looked around, in silent awe. After all these years, she had almost completely forgotten how the outside world really looked like.
Then the word 'half ghost' caused her heart to skip a beat. She looked at the person who had just saved her, realising she was half-ghost. Logically, Cal would've figured out that Violet too, was a ghost, but she wasn't saying anything. Violet made a mental note to not give the secret away, afraid that they would somehow abandon her if so.
~~
Jade and Kane had been walking for some time, trying to locate where the voices were coming from.
Kane was getting tired, but he tried not to admit it. He didn't want to be the weak one in this pair. Jade leading, they walked through tunnels, forests, and well, a lot of doors. One thing there was in a common with these doors- they all were opened, and it seemed as if someone had previously entered through them, quite recently.
The sky was getting darker, when they a door, that was opened. The voices were incredibly loud now, as if they were no more than a few metres away.
Jade looked at Kane, with a look on her face that meant he needed to take out his weapon. Without a second thought, he took out his evolving sword, finger on the button.
When they turned the corner, they saw a bunch of people standing in a dark hallway. There was a light in the end.
Jade, desperate for answers, spoke out.
"Hey! Who are you guys!" She spoke loudly, waiting for a response.
I heard voices, but I wasn't able to have Arc let go of me. I want to speak binary to them, but they won't understand.
Arc... Don't you hear those voices?
Eventually the magnet wore off, but I was dazed by the effects. I could barely walk...
"Vivs!" Arc put their arm around my neck with a smile. "Time to stop slacking off!"
I would, if it wasn't for your magnet. Sheesh!
~~
Cal looked back, as they saw people behind. She turned her snake ring into a scythe, her face having this very serious look.
"Tell me why you two are here."
~~
Eventually the lure wore off and I was able to speak again.
"Arc, you idiot! Somebody is there, and you left Cal behind the dust!" I picked up Arc and quickly sprinted towards Cal.
It surprised me that there were uninvitied visitors.
"Huh? Who are those strangers...?" I dropped Arc before spinning my butterfly knife, revealing the blade. "I didn't know uninvited guests were on the list!"
Arc was surprised as well, but ran off to the hallway before anyone saw.
"If anybody wants the treasure more, it's going to be me."
Violet, while nobody was looking, made herself invisible and fluttered away from the chaos, to the corner of the room.
She watched intensely to see what would happen.
~~
Kane saw everyone take out their weapons, and pressed the button to reveal his sword. It was majestic and silver, sharp.
"Zork," he muttered, enabling the poison.
He charged forward, but before he could do anything, Jade yelled for him to stop.
"No fighting until we know who they are." She muttered under her breath to Kane, eyes still on the opposition.
"How about we spare them if they're any use. Tie 'em up. Force them to tell us where to go." Kane replied.
Jade looked at him, thinking about his suggestion.
"First, what are YOU doing here?" She challenged. "We're not saying anything until you tell us where we are."
"Bah, as if we'd ever talk!" I barked. "We were here first, therefore, you either answer our questions or die!"
"Easy, Vi-Vi." Cal glanced at me. "They're going to fight us, whether we like it or not."
"Hmph. Your loss, Cal. I'm going to maul them both. The butterflies haven't failed me now...!" I attempted to lunge towards the two with my butterfly knife.
~~
Arc noticed that the two were in trouble. Thinking whether they should help out or not, they decided to go for the former and run back.
"Get your sharp tools out of my friends' hair!" They hissed like an actual cat, which they kind of are.
"Arc?! I thought you abandoned us!" I gasped out. That little kid's stubborn. First they go for treasure, then they help. What's this kid's alignment, anyways? True Neutral?!
"I'd let you live before I steal the treasure!" They yelled, and then used a big magnet to attract me to them. "And I'm not letting you die that easily!"
Jade watched the internal conflict that was happening between the other group. Although she had just met Kane, she didn't have to say anything to him. He and she both knew that it would be easy to defeat them in battle. The only true threat was the one at the front, that was named, Cal? Kale?
"Die? Let's see about that..." Kane replied.
Violet watched them fight, and decided to do something. She drifted over to the two opposing people, still invisible, and pushed one over.
Jade felt something push her, and she suddenly fell.
Kane reacted quickly, pulling her up, but almost dropped his sword. Amongst all this, however, Kane felt as if there was a presence near him, trying to grab his sword.
Violet grunted, in her mind, and drifted to the corner. She was going to do more, but felt herself become more visible. Instead, she quickly floated to the corner of the hallway, and hid. Thankfully, she arrived just in time, and Cal hadn't noticed yet that she was missing.
Jade blinked, face red. She breathed out.
"Who was that. I want answers. What sick sorcery are you doing?!"
"Arc! You know what happens with-" It was too late. The magnet already attracted me. Now I have a giant blue magnet at my back. I'm literally a giant fridge with that single gosh darned magnet that can't be pulled out.
I beeped a few curses in binary, as I waited for Arc to do something productive.
Cal smirked. "Clumsy one, aren't you?" Her scythe turned back into a snake ring, and the temperature in the room started to lower. "Hope you brought some exra blankets." She said with a blank expression.
"Vi-Vi! You're not going to fight those two! Cal can take care of it!" Arc urged me not to fight, before releasing the magnet. Then they grabbed my hand and ran towards a corner.
"You have nothing but butterfly knives. Cal's got a scythe and ice powers. You're going to die. Besides, you're halfway to death, and I promise I'd keep you safe."
Is this kid suddenly caring about me? I thought. Arc never cared about me. They cared about treasures more than me. It was pathetic.
Thanks, I guess.
The temperature of the room lowered and Kane pulled his leather jacket closer to him. Why did he have to wear leather at a time like this?
They were both shocked. How did someone do that? It was almost as if Cal wasn't human. The one called Vi-vi seemed to magnetic, which was impossible. Maybe she was wearing some type of special clothing?
Jade looked around frantically, not expecting something like this. She looked at Kane, and he seemed to be just as confused. The other couldn't be magical? Could they? Jade tried to be open minded to the possibility even if she wasn't used to seeing real magic...
Kane charged forward. When he moved his sword around, it made a numbing sound. He ran towards Cal, and attacker her arm. After struggling, he managed to cut her wrist, but not badly.
Jade came as reinforcement, but her hand to hand combat wasn't very useful in a time like this. She took out her knives and attempted to throw them at Cal. The temperature got lower and lower.
(Arc is a Toon-Upless Toon. That means they can use traps, lures, sound, throwing, water, and drop heavy stuff on their opponents, but they cannot heal others.)
~~~~
Cal's left arm got a small cut, which started to slowly fade out of existence.
"Bah... Half-Human perks my left arm!" Her mind started to fade away, as the temperature got even lower.

Arc then got out of the way and used the usual big magnet to attract the knives. The magnet faded away, as the knives fell down on the floor.
"I got four magnets left. You sure you want me to drop a piano on you next?" They mocked, and started to aim and fire bullets towards the male. "I'd be delighted. Besides, I got plenty of things to drop."

I watched in distress as the two began to fight. What should I do to help, anyways? I don't have any cog attacks that can affect a non-Toon, especially Paradigm Shift - An attack that I can easily use to forcefully grab my target up the air without the need of using my hands, and launching them back to the ground forcefully.
That wouldn't work, and besides, my light's on orange. I could easily get myself killed.
But to be honest, I've never used a Cog Attack on non-Toons, so I might as well make this my first time doing so.
It's risky, however, so I can't do anything about it.
"Arc, are you going to be okay?" I asked. "Are you sure you don't need a blanket or anything? I mean, it's cold." I barely shivered. After all, I'm like a laptop that's been on for so long that I'm classified as a walking heater.
"And besides, Toons are affected by temperature, are they not?"

"I've spent weeks in that cold, icy, tundra! You think my fur would freeze, but lemme tell ya, the chilling numbs out!" Arc yelled in reply.

"Sure," I replied. I assume that the dress was keeping me warm. After all, it's kind of like a sweater; I put it over my regular clothes, and it keeps me warm. It's probably me who's keeping myself warm.

@nightmaremoon12 (Okay.)

Jade watched in awe as the cut healed immediately. The temperature of the hallway lowered even more, and she could already feel the blood unable to reach her toes.
Kane was already in pain, his toes turning blue. He looked across the hallway, but the girl over there seemed unaffected by the chilling atmosphere.

Jade knew it was time to surrender, hopefully they'd show mercy. She was right, Cal was the real threat.
Kane was evidently thinking the same, and managed to get to it much quicker than she did.

"Stop! Whatever you're doing, quit it!" Kane yelled, his fingers starting to have a numbing feeling.
Jade glanced over, and nodded, teeth chattering. They were both on the floor, trying to capture as much warmth as possible.

"We will tell you everything!" Kane continued. Then he paused to say a word he hadn't said in a long time... "Please..."

Cal did the most faintest of smiles, before the temperature began to rise.
"That's all I needed to hear. Vi-Vi, stop hiding in the corner."

I squeaked when they mentioned my name. As always, I followed directions and slipped out of the hallway.
"I'm here. Now-"

"Tell us everything, how you got here, and where you came from!" Arc screeched, their tail upright, prepared to attack if the two planned anything suspicious.

I started to calm down, and the glowing orange light on my chest started to slowly turn back into green.
"Exactly. We're not done with this feud until you answer us." I looked at them with a blank expression on my face.

Jade glanced at Kane. They were both thinking the same thing, debating whether to tell the truth, or keep it hidden. They looked at the somewhat magical creatures before them, and Jade decided to tell the truth.

"We woke up here, about 20, 30 minutes ago. We aren't surprised. You haven't got us fooled. You're the Capitol's doing, aren't you?"

Kane's deathly glare penetrated through the eyes of the opposition. Jade felt the cool, chilly air disappear, the nice warmth returning.

"And I've done my fair share of manipulative survival games. I demand return." Kane added.

"This a joke?" I demanded. "I don't know what you're talking about; I'm oblivious to your questions."

Cal looked at me and Arc.
"These two aren't even worth our time. We should just go to the end. Leave them here. They can follow if they want to.

We both headed towards the hallway, ignoring the two people who just popped up out of nowhere. I didn't understand why.

At the end was a room surrounded with stony walls, a large pedestal and an orb of light at the center. I heard noises of gears ticking around the room, but didn't see any gears of the like.
"So this is the final room? What's going on? Is there something in here, like a boss or...?"

Cal nodded. "That orb contains our target. It's the key out of the dungeon. Once we kill the creature, the gate in front opens."
She released a single lone ice spear at the orb, shattering both the orb and spear.

The enemy inside the orb was revealed to be a golem of some sorts, created out of gears, bulbs, and so many more. The walls collapsed, and revealed more sprockets, lights, wires, and many more.
"A steampunk themed dungeon of some sorts. Why aren't the other rooms like that?" Arc asked. "Hey, Vivs, maybe you'll like this place! After all, you're made out of gears, right?"

"Very funny," I replied, "very funny." I didn't laugh at their sick jokes. "I'm not a walking gear. Now, get out of the way; that golem's...!"

I was interrupted by the shockwave the golem emitted. With that pound of the fist, gears flew out of it's hand. Arc and I got shaken down on the ground, but I didn't feel like I got hurt, although I can tell Arc did.
"Cal, help here?"

Kane watched them walk away, as if they had entirely forgotten about them. This was rare for a Capitol manipulation. It didn't seem very... Capitol-ish.

Thankfully, Jade had noticed the same. She stood up, brushing the dust off her. She tried to stand up confidently, dismissing the fact that she had just gotten defeated.

"Do you think we're actually... somewhere else?" She asked, walking closer to Kane.
"What do you mean..."
"I mean, is this, well, are you sure the Capitol did this? We just witnessed, like, real magic, that would be impossible for the Capitol to conjure up... right? I mean you're the victor here."
Kane thought about it for a second. He couldn't think of a better explanation for all this, no matter how impossible the current one was. But, surely enough, it was happening.
"Yes. It is definitely strange. There are no other victors, or tributes here, that we have found, and someone had just spared us. Which never happens, if they really wanted to survive."

This thought left them both speechless, confused and dazed. The room was now warm, with no sign of the others.

Jade knew that they both were thinking the same thing, so she decided to be straightforward and said what they were both thinking.

"Someone must have sent us here, through some magic. And what we need to do, is find out who the hell would want us here, and why."

~~

Violet drifted behind Cal. Of all of her 'saviours', she liked Cal the most. She was brave and the strongest. Violet felt weak, and she needed an aura like Cal's to surround her. It sounded cheesy, but she reminded herself that the fact she was a ghost now, meant she was allowed to be creepy.

Arc had just gotten injured, and Vi-vi called for Cal. Violet, as she was fully visible, lent a helping hand as well, even though she wasn't effective.

"What happened?" She asked, using the politest of her tones.
