No Pencil Icon to change critter names

Following the instructions on the old Town Hall page, I checked out several of my critters and there are no pencil icons on their pages to enable changing their names. Am I looking in the wrong place??

@applegranny you change their names under your Cove or My Creatures:

It's the third icon is the row below the creature. I hope that helps!
