The Owlbear appears in Native American folklore The story goes that a man and woman from two different tribes fell in love, but to prevent them from ever being together the man was turned into a bear, the woman was turned into an owl. Despite their curse they still loved each other and the Owlbear was the result of that union. It would go from egg straight to adult the egg would be brown and furry but have little 'wings' on each side. This egg seems almost a contradiction covered with both fur and feathers. The egg is very light yet deep growling can be heard from inside as if whatever is in there is a large beast. For adult form copy and paste the link http://sta.sh/020dzgb4f4a3I am not the artist, I have nerve damage in my arms and can't draw, this picture comes from the book Dracopedia: The Beastiary by William O'Connor, who is the artist@sugarsprig@birdlover64@cala@octoberopal123sorry for the pings but I want to get word out
