So in honor of all the bird creature suggestions, I figured I'd do a bird themed RP. 😃

Humans and avian kind have gotten along well. That is, as long as avians don't reveal themselves in public and hide their identity. This is for the safety of both species, or so they say. Really, it is only for the bird species' safety. Any avian that doesn't hide their abnormal features will be immediately arrested to either be put to death or sent to be experimented on. Some humans have gone as far as calling themselves Avian Hunters and purposely try to expose the species and straight up hunt them down to kill them. Either way, an avian's life is dangerous in society. One wrong move could be their last.

Rules:
-So yeah, you can be an avian, human, or even an Avian Hunter. If you have any other ideas of what you want to be, feel free to ping me.
-No Gary Sues/Mary Sues.
-No godmodding.
-Please keep the drama at a minimum. If you have an idea, but are unsure if it it too dramatic, feel free to PM me.
-This is semi-literate so at least one paragraph per post. One paragraph means at least four sentences.
-No controlling other's characters without permission. To add on, do not kill another player's character without permission and do not attack someone's character without giving them a chance to react.
-I am allowing powers, but they can not be overpowering.
-Weaknesses are different from limitations. They cut off one's powers completely or reduce it to almost useless.
-If you understand the rules put a fun fact about your character in code.
-Please stay active. If you are not going to be active, please let me know and your character will be ignored until you come back.
-No more than five characters per person at a time. This being said, each character that you use in a post must have at least one paragraph.
-If you break the rules over three times, you will be kicked out.
-The RP sample must be at least one paragraph.
-Follow Egg Cave rules.
-Please use complete sentences when making your form.
-If you understand the rules put your character's theme song in other.

Name: Paxon Setilli

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Gay

Age: 21

Species (Avian or Human): Avian

Appearance: Paxon stands at five feet and nine inches. His hair is light brown with a few black feathers in the mix and his eyes are bright amber. He has slightly tanned skin and is covered in dark freckles. On his back is a pair of large, black, feathery wings that have a few dark brown feathers. He has a few scratches as well from his feathers and burn marks from practicing using his power.

Clothing: For shoes, he wears black combat boots. Paxon has a light grey hoodie and baby blue t-shirt he wears underneath. He also wears jeans. To hide his wings, the avian wears a black cloak.

Power(s)/Abilities: Paxon can obviously fly, but he isn't exactly good at it. He uses his feathers as throwing knives/ninja stars, as they grow back quickly and are very sharp. He can also manipulate fire and can not be harmed by it. However, he is still learning to master this power and it isn't abnormal that his feathers and hair are singed from failed practices.

Weakness(es): Despite being able to quickly pull a feather out to use as a small weapon, it is painful and can cause that area to become slightly sore. He doesn't know it yet, but Paxon is weak to obsidian. It limits his powers and makes him sleepy/sluggish.

Past: (Optional)

Personality: Very childish at heart, Paxon is like a four year old in a twenty one year old's body. He can be immature and easily impressed. Not only that, but he is very gullible and energetic. Paxon hates to sit still and hates to see people upset. He can be a bit destructive and clumsy as well. Aside from that, the man is very social, friendly, trusting, and extroverted.

Code: He is semi scared of heights and of flying.

RP Sample: The avian slowly opened his eyes, completely exhausted from the eventful night before. He rubbed his head and ran his hand through his hair. Suddenly, Paxon caught glimpse of the time from his alarm clock on his nightstand and his drowsiness immediately snapped away. A smile spread across the man's face as he jumped out of bed, running and sliding into his closet. Grabbing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and hoodie, Paxon threw on his clothes and hurriedly shoved on his shoes. He skidded to a halt when he reached for the door knob, though, his smile slightly faltering. The avian gently removed the black cloak from the coat rack and swung it over his back, hiding his wings.

Paxon strolled out of his apartment with a skip in his step. It really was a beautiful day today and it added to his already optimistic mood. He made his way to one of his favorite places: the park. The cement path snaked through, sometimes splitting to lead to another part of the park. As the man enjoyed the fresh air and took in the beauty of the park, Paxon noticed a woman following a man through the park. He recognized the man. He was a fellow avian actually. Curiosity immediately struck him as he casually headed in their direction. The woman started to speed up and was reaching for the man's jacket. The avian's brain snapped at the pieces fell into place, causing him to start running toward them. Without thinking, Paxon called out to the woman.

"Hey! I think I know you from some where," he started, resulting in her quickly retracting her arm and spun around toward him. She gave him an annoyed, yet confused look. Shaking her head, she replied, "You don't look familiar and I don't know where you would know me from. You must be mistaken." She went to turn back to the man who had looked back to see what the commotion was and was now speed walking away, but Paxon continued.

"No, I swear I've seen you before. Have you ever been to the karaoke club down the street?"

"Yes actually. I go every Tuesday," she said. Paxon looked behind her and could see the man was almost out of sight.

"Ah! That must be it! You are such a good singer!"

"Really? Thanks! Next time I'm there, I'll have to look for you," she rambled. By this time, the man was gone.

"Yeah, absolutely! I got to go now, but I'll definitely look for you next time I go! Bye," he concluded, walking away with a breath of relief. That had been a close one. It seemed every day, there were more and more Avian Hunters. Oh well. Paxon would help in anyway he could.

And just asking in advance, is it possible to have an avian character who can take on aspects of a different creature temporarily? Like an avian who is able to grow a spiders pincers?


Name: Huma Harkness

Gender: Agender(They/Them)

Sexuality: AroAce

Age: 27

Species: Avian

Appearance: Despite their age, Huma looks fairly young, scarcely looking 20, Human's friends blame Human's ability to heal from wounds keeping the avian looking so young. Huma has a shock of red hair, like really red hair. They have bird like solid gold colored eyes, and a soft splattering of freckles on their face. Their hands are taloned, with their fingers and palms fading from the scales on a bird to human skin. Their legs are scaley triple jointed with the ankle rising up a quarter of the way up the leg and the knee two quarters above that. Their feet resemble a birds. Huma has large red orange and yellow wings that can fold into a hollow on their back. On the back of their neck Huma has red and orange feathers.

Clothing: Huma typically wears a very large trenchcoat, big enough to cover their wings. They wear a open backed shirt, although the coat usually hides the fact that it doesn't have a back. Gloves cover their hands and fabric shoes alongside foot and leg wrappings hide their legs. Huma wears black pants and usually carries around a satchel.

Power(s)/Abilities: Huma can fly, use his talons on both feet and hands to fight, they can create and control fire, transfer injuries between two living creatures and heal their own wounds in a fashion very similar to a phoenix.

Weakness(es): Huma can have all of their powers, save for flight and talons, negated by contact with steel. Huma also must maintain physical contact between those whose wounds they wish to transfer, even if the wounds go to or from Huma. Fixing their wounds requires Huma to literally light themself on fire for a few moments leaving them very vulnerable to new attacks. The creation of fire is very volatile and reliant on the magic and energy around. Huma's self healing cannot be used on mortal wounds, and neither can a wound transfer(mortal wound meaning one that would end up killing the recipient).

Past: They don't really remember. Human's life prior to this year is all a blank in their mind. They have been told by friends that they did great things, but Huma doesn't recall anything of the sort.

Personality: Huma is observant, reasonable and very cautious. Huma prefers to listen and try to find a non-violent solution. They will often refuse to fight if a better option can be figured out, although if nothing else can be done Huma will fight. Huma tries to be a non-violent person, they try to take everything in a pacifist manner, although sometimes aggression can be the only way and even Huma knows when to give in.

Code: Huma is named after the Huma bird, a mythological creature which is both male and female at the same time, that is said to consume itself in flames every few years and rise from its own ashes.

RP Sample:

Huma perched on the railing enclosing their balcony as the moon traversed the sky. At this point it was maybe 3 in the morning, a time when no one would be awake. They had chosen to live on the top story of an apartment building, worry for being hunted down pushing them from living nearer to the ground. They knew they could pass as a human. They did so for many years. Or Huma was told they did. Sometimes things got confusing when you couldn't remember your life up until a year ago.

Huma sighed, shifting their wings under the coat. It was maybe a week and a half since they last flew. But that had been during a camping trip, where no hunters could see them. Huma missed that freedom. Missed the times when they could walk without constant coverings. But that was in the past.

Huma looked down at the city below them. To any observer they looked like a normal kid, sitting on the edge of the railing. And Huma hoped they could maintain this form of anonymity.

Appearance: Sparky has normal skin, but with feathers along his back and it smoothly changes. He has wings that can easily fold back, hiding him very well. He's kind of short for his age.

Clothing: Sparky wears a jacket that covers his feathers. He also wears a yellow t-shirt and ripped jeans. His shoes are yellow sneakers

Power(s)/Abilities: Sparky can fly. He also can control lightning and make sparks. This power makes him really rare, as he can cause sparks all around him and supersonic fly away from Avian hunters

Weakness(es): Sparky hates getting wet. It dampens his wings, slowing flight motion. His electric power fizzles out too, as water and electricity never should mix.

Past: (Optional)

Personality: Sparky is carefree and fun. He's serious though, about hiding the fact that he's a Avian. He doesn't really fight, but that's probably because he never needs too fight. He acts just like a normal boy.

Code: Sparky is afraid of vegetables. It must be because someone once said vegetables come to live at night time and attack whoever eats a vegetable. 😈

Other: I don't have a song.

RP Sample:

Sparky looked around. It was a late night. 1 A.M. for exact. He looked behind him. Tonight should have been fun, but all he could think about was those Avian hunters. He felt nervous. Touching his wings, he got up. Then he half-walked, half-flied back in the empty house he was staying in.
He looked inside. No Avian hunters. He sighed as he sat down and put his jacket away, revealing a hole in his shirt where two wings were. He noticed what seemed like another Avian outside. He stood up and went outside to see if he was right, putting his jacket on before he left.

Species (Avian or Human): Human/Avian Hunter

Appearance: Rather short, she is exactly five feet tall. Also, Alexandra is albino, so her skin is very pale, her irises are a light blue with a tint of red in her pupils, and her hair is a light blonde, almost white. The woman's hair is cut and styled in a layered bob. Her nails are painted a dark blue.

Clothing: She wears a woman's suit (the kind with a skirt) with a dark blue tie. Her slip-ons are also dark blue.

Power(s)/Abilities: Alexandra has telekinesis and can turn into a dove.

Weakness(es): Her telekinesis will only work on nonliving objects. Ivy cuts off all her powers and forces her to change back into a human if she is in dove form.

Past: She comes from a long line of Avian Hunters. However, like those before her, she keeps this a secret and covers up her profession by working as an assistant in an office building.

Personality: At first glance, Alexandra is bubbly and preppy. Underneath her sweet and innocent act though, she is serious and straight to the point. She can be quite emotionless and manipulative.

Code: She hates it when people call her Alex.

Other: Secrets by The Pierces

RP Sample: The woman quickly walked down the hall, a binder full of papers held close to her chest. She opened the door that led into a large room full of desks. Although it seemed quite boring, at least the view was nice. You could practically see the whole city. Alexandra made her way to one of the desks and gently placed the binder in front of a lady.

"Thank you, Miss Fern."

"Of course! Have a wonderful day, Ma'am! And try not to work too hard," she said with a wink and a smile. The lady gave her a tired smile and returned to whatever computer work she was doing before. Alexandra turned to leave when something caught her eye. Looking at the lady's clothes, there appeared to be a blue feather on her outfit. Her smile quickly became a smirk as she walked back to the door. Just before closing the door behind her, Alexandra made a subtle movement with her fingers, imagining the jacket on the lady's back flying off. Then she shut the door and giggled to herself, walking away from the muffled screams, yells, and the sounds of struggle.

Alexandra whistled a happy tune, ignoring the sirens of police cars while she walked out of the building. The woman was proud of herself. After all, one less avain meant the city was slightly better.

RP Sample: Ria walked down the streets she was ever so fond of. Pulling her hood up over her head, speed walking to work. Walking in the door she spotted Lulu, her boss.
"I'm here!" She yelled putting on an apron.
"You're late!" Lulu yelled back.
"At least I'm here!" She smiled.
"Hey! Come back here and clean the brushes or something!" Her boss came out and play-slapped her with a towel.
"Fine,"She smiled and walked off.

Name: Star

Gender: Female

Sexuality: (Optional)

Age: 26

Species (Avian or Human): Avian

Appearance: Star has a tinge of green on some areas of her skin. She has feathers along her body, fading into skin as it gets closer to her hands, feet, and neck. Her feet aren't like normal feet. They are talon-like, and have 3 toes. She also has large hummingbird wings that are green, and sadly, not easy to hide. Her hair is "dyed" green, but that's how it really is. There is also a quail-like feather on the top of her hair.

Clothing: Star wears a large-sleeved hoodie with green and has a pink heart on it. Her jeans go all the way down to her black boots. she also wears a baseball cap to cover up her feather. Her hoodie is a size too big, just so her wings fit inside. She daily changes her shirt under the hoodie, but all of them have wing-holes.

Power(s)/Abilities: Star has the power to control plants. She can psychic-move them, and make them do what she wants them to do. She also can fly, but doesn't like to.

Weakness(es): She doesn't really fly much, so her wings don't work well and crash into each other. Her plant abilities are kind of powerful, but she can lose control and if she gets too hot (getting a fever, using too much energy etc.) or is close to something with extreme heat (lightning, fire etc.) all her powers will stop and she'll be defense-less against Avian hunters.

Past: She has a bit of short-term memory and doesn't remember any important things from her past.

Personality: She is a serious worker on the outside, but after you get to know her she'll sacrifice herself just for you. She won't reveal that she's an Avian though, no matter how much she trusts you. If you sneak up on her, she'll act like a scared 6 year-old.

Code: She helps out sometimes at a Garden Shop.

Other: I still don't know a song. ☹️

RP Sample:
Star looked outside. No people meant she could leave. She left and walked to her house. "I wish I could be free to act as I am" she thought as she entered. I was a bit lonely in there, as she wouldn't bring in anyone but an Avian, and she didn't know any.
She laid down on her bed and sighed, revealing her green wings by pulling her hoodie off, where there was a white shirt with holes. She raised her arm, then a pink flower bloomed in an empty pot. "Lucky there's not any windows." she said to herself as she pulled her blankets over her and fell asleep, with her wings stretched out on the bed.

Appearance: Loli has light red curly hair. Her skin used to be light but now has a tan. She is rather short, but she's a bit fat from snaking so much.

Clothing: Loli always wears a pink dress and pink sneakers. She also sometimes wears a baking hat and an apron, as she hides her as a Avian hunter by working in a bakery.

Power(s)/Abilities: Loli has mild speed-slowing powers. She also can make things happen with her mind-control.

Weakness(es): Loli's speed-slowing can only last 1-10 minutes. Her mind control only works on animals that aren't Avians, and it takes up so much energy. Her powers are limited by water.

Past: Loli has been working like this since she was 13. Her bakery's called Sweet Wings, and she reveals any people who come in that are Avians.

Personality: Loli has a downright crazy personality. She acts crazy, but she's sometimes serious like at work, and she is kind to non-Avians.

Code: All her workers at Sweet Wing call her Lollipop; She has a cat named Sugar

RP Sample:
Loli came to the bakery. It was a sunny day, and soon an Avian would be exposed. "Sugar! Let's go!" Sugar leaped down and purred. They walked to the bakery and flipped the sign to open. She got inside and worked a lot.
Sugar yowled. This was the alarm that he found a Avian! She got up. "Hello, welcome to Sugar Wings. How can I help you?" The person said something, but she didn't listen. She gave a signal and Sugar leaped onto the person, clawing the person's jacket apart. She smirked while looking at the revealed Avian as the police carried the Avian away.

Name: Dalton Black

Gender: Male

Sexuality: (Optional) Bisexual

Age: 22

Species (Avian or Human): 'Ex-Avian' (hates avians)

Appearance: Dalton has smooth, rather tan skin yet has several scars on his back. He has jet black hair with an undercut and emerald green eyes(red when angry or using his powers). He stands at 6'3 and is well built.
He has wings that match his pure black hair and he can retract them into his back. He has scars over his shoulder blades where his wings come out.

Clothing: He wears a blood red dress shirt with the first few buttons undone, revealing his upper chest slightly and black jeans with black dress shoes. He also wears black leather gloves and has a tattoo of a Chinese dragon on his back.

Power(s)/Abilities: He can manipulate/fabricate fire and make things extremely hot.
He was trained at a young age to wield a sword and has become extremely skilled at it.
To some, his scorching hot skin is seen as a power, but for him it's just a nuisance. Due to this, he never removes his leather gloves.

Weakness(es): He has no specific weaknesses but if he becomes soaked, he cannot use his flame abilities.

Past: (Optional) I won't give much away here since I like when people learn about my character through RP, but just to clarify the 'Ex-Avian' title, he was treated terribly by his fellow avians and disowned by his family at the age of 15 and had to fend for himself until now. His white wings gradually went black as hate grew strong in his heart.

Personality: Due to his past, he has some major trust issues and even though he's a flirt, he has trouble commiting to anyone and doesn't have any friends. He has a terrible temper and a short fuse. He often speaks his mind, which isn't always the nicest. He has a very dominant personality and often times bullies people he likes (friends included). He has little to no patience. He is impulsive and aggressive. He can get pretty loud and obnoxious if he's provoked and he's not afraid to tell someone off.

Code: Fun Fact! - Dalton is actually a hopeless romantic despite his sour attitude!

As I walked down the path in the park a few blocks from my apartment, gloved hands tucked into my pockets, my emerald irises glanced up at the brightly shinning sun. The weather was gorgeous and I couldn't help but soak in some rays.
"Ahh..." A breath of relaxation escaped my lips. "What a fine morning.." I muttered to myself.

Name: Xander Blake

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Mystery...

Age: 23

Species (Avian or Human): Human (Avian Hunter)

Appearance: Xander has a very fair complexion, skin slightly pale and smooth to the touch and lips fairly pink and thin. His blonde hair (with brown roots) is styled in a typical men's cut, buzzed short on all sides and fairly long on the top which is often slicked back with gel. His eyes are a light green, almost as pale as his skin. While he isn't the tallest bloke on the block, Xander comes in at average at around 5'11" with a fairly toned body.

Clothing: Xander wears casual clothes most of the time. Usually consisting of a dark blue dress shirt with rolled up sleeves, khaki colored pants or black jeans, and light coloured sneakers. On his back (with a strap across his chest), he carries a large, black bag where he keeps his sniper rifle.

Power(s)/Abilities: Xander practiced the art of sharpshooting with a sniper rifle, making him a pretty decent shot from quite a distance. Although his speciality are rifles, he's no stranger to hand to hand combat as well as knife skills since he was deployed in the military for some time where he was taught how to fight.

Weakness(es): Does the fact that he's human work? He doesn't have any special powers like the avians do and can only rely on his combat skills to survive in a fight. It takes him a while to set up a snipping location and thus it's impractical to do without a well thoughtout plan.

Past: (Will RP Out)

Personality: Xander is pretty quiet, often avoiding conversation if he can. He's rather polite but prefers not to get dragged into small talk if at all possible. While he's more stiff with strangers, people he knows he's rather playful and enjoys lightening the mood when he can.

Code: Fun Fact! - Xander can't feel pain.

Sitting at the downtown bar was becoming a frequent thing for Xander as much as he dislikes the atmosphere. Shady's was its name and it might as well be called that with how much of a run down joint it was, but man the food was delicious. Opening his mouth to bite into his double decker, Xander chewed slowly, relishing in the taste of the premium beef and crusty bun. Hearing a voice, Xander's pale green eyes opened slowly and moved over to the screen behind the bar, seeing a well-dressed woman report on the latest Avian trial. There hasn't been much word of Avian retaliation on the news in the last couple of weeks and for a while Xander thought they all got put in their place. But boy was he ever wrong...
