Site Idea: Protect Unread Mail

This idea was inspired by this post and something similar that happened to me.

Would it me possible to:
1.) make it impossible to accidentally archive unreal mail, or
2.) remove the notification of "unread mail" if something marked as unread is moved to "Archive?"

I'm just throwing that out there.
