i am experiencing high amoutns of lag, like 40 seconds to a minute for each page, if it does load. Every other website I use is fine, just EC is laggy. it took me 10 minutes to load the blog page because it wouldn't load.

I have had the exact same problem especially during the double feed Sunday. I did everything on my end to assure it wasn't me.
I checked various websites like isitdownrightnow and tried ping tests, the issue showed the site as being down at various times with a 60 second + ping time.
I am guessing it was the amount people on double feed day? All I know is that it was very, very frustrating and I just gave up until today to log in again. I hope this will be looked into and resolved .
Also why does the site choke up at around 2 AM PST?
