Intro

Pandyssia has always been a stable city, it has held long against the constant barrage of Forsaken that threaten its outer borders, and fares well against the constant threat of Void Walkers from within. So it came as a shock to everyone when the Guardians were killed before completing the cycle of renewal.

With the death of the Guardians The Hunters were forced to move their attention from inner threats and to focus on the Forsaken that now threatened Pandyssia. As a result the last known Void Walker they kept in custody escaped. When Pandyssia fell a few months later and the Hunters scattered a small group handed together to track down the new Guardians in whatever form they might take. At the same time the Void Walkers make a return, with the same task at hand. To find and restore the Guardians.

Hunters

Hunters are people capable of utilizing their Aura in multiple different ways. Every Hunter is capable of conjuring a weapon, or weapons, from this Aura. They are also able to utilize what is called a semblance, a powerful ability that is formed from the Aura. Semblance can be a variety of powers ranging from temporarily allowing the user to take no damage to rendering the user invisible and even to paralyze enemies for a short while.

Hunters are extremely agile and are able to jump and run great distances and fight for extended times without getting tired. They also capable of transforming into an animal, each animal they turn into is unique to the Hunter.

Hunters are the protectors of Pandyssia and are tasked with fighting off the Forsaken. Hunters are also tasked with ensuring that there are no Void Walkers are out in civilization.

Void Walkers

Void Walkers are former Hunters who have been gifted with powers from the Void. Revealed by the mark of three looped circles in their dominant hand, Void Walkers are considered a threat due to the unique powers they have been gifted. Their purpose is known to very few outside of the actual Void Walkers.

Void Walkers retain the powers from when they were Hunters, but also have other abilities unmatched by anything a Hunter could hope to achieve. Void Walkers are capable of teleporting short distances, turning into a living shadow for a few minutes, summoning thorn bushes to ensnare others, shove people out of the way with blasts of wind, pull objects towards them from a distance, and see nearby sentient life through walls for a minute. Void Walkers are also able to detect other Void Walkers via their marks.

Void Walkers are also very weak to a unique type of music taught to Hunters. This music nulls a Void Walkers powers as long as the music can be heard by the Void Walker.

Guardians

The protector of the Artifacts of the Goddesses. There are three in total, one of Light, one of Shadow, and one of Nature. The Guardians held powers above Hunters and even the Void Walkers, or at least allegedly.

The Guardian of Light was able to wield and manipulate light, courage, and truth. The Guardian of Shadow was able to wield darkness, fear, and deceit. The Guardian of Nature was able to wield and manipulate weather and nature.

Each Guardian is chosen by the previous before death by an elaborate process. Recently the Guardians were killed before choosing their successors and so little is known of their status now.

Sylar has been traveling for the better part of the morning, something she found to be a feat of its own considering she had spent the last four years locked away. Judging by the business of the roads, for even in times of imminent crisis the people formerly of Pandyssia still maintained some form of normal living, Sylar judged it to be around ten in the morning.

Sylar felt bad for them, they sat at the brink of losing everything every day they lived in this place. She on the other hand had nothing to lose, and she wasn't sure that made her much better than the rest.

It was difficult adjusting from not using her powers, to using them constantly, to having to rarely use them. She was just grateful that most of the Hunters who knew her had been moved to defend the people living in the capital when it was overrun. That made her job of finding others like her easier. She could blend in with the remaining Hunters.

"We need to get moving." Nate said, nudging his sister awake. "I know we set up camp later than usual but you got to sleep in a bit more as a result. Right now we have to get to Rarik, the town needs Hunters before lurking Forsaken destroy it."

Nyssa grumbled as she rolled out of her bedroll. Never one for mornings, she simply set to packing up her things in a half asleep daze.

"I already packed up the rest of the camp, so once you're ready we can continue." Nate said, as he pulled his pack into his back.
